I remember having these types of rolls with our school lunches in the 80's! that included spaghetti with meat sauce..side salad..carton of milk...and fruit in those square shaped trays!! School lunches were so good back then! Foods always tasted homemade with flavor! But those rolls were awesome and they tasted homemade! Warm and buttery just like yours chef!
I just love watching you as you cook the way I grew up cooking! I am now 66 yrs and as a military wife, moving with a soldier's pay, scratch meant survival! I blessed my grandma for teaching me - Southern mountain cooking, especially since my husband was a city born yankee (lol) used to deli, canned goods, and cut expensive growing up! He found out he was Southern deep down, and loved it until I lost him to cancer 2 yrs ago!
Awesome recipe! I make a lot of breads and this is one of the easy ones that everyone should try! I love the way you used all purpose flour...I'm a firm believer in using what you have on had! Love this! Thanks for sharing.
Chef Jeffrey, hats off to you again for this easy can-do recipe. I'll make a batch this weekend because I just love yeast rolls with lots of butter and less work with more eating time. 🥰
Yum! When I was in school in 80s they had Weiner wrap and this mustard like was lighter and better tasting then regular yellow.. they both were soooo good, these might work to the wrap.. do you know what I'm talking about at all??
Gonna try this for Sunday dinner this week. Thanks so much for the recipe. I love scratch cooking. I already have everything I need to give most recipes a try.
I love to see a new video posted from you, because I know its going to be a recipe that takes me back home. This one is just that type of video. I remember the dinner rolls in the cafeteria at school and could almost taste these. I know they were delicious. Thank you for taking the fear of cooking and baking (my Achilles heel for sure) and turning it into something simple and delicious. You have a true talent and I appreciate all you do!! Thank you!
These rolls look delish Chef, gonna give them a try!! By any chance do you have an old school recipe for the peanut butter cake they use to make for school lunch before kids started getting allergic to peanuts??🙋🏻♀️💜tfs
Chef Jeff I've always been intimidated by the process of making homemade breads and rolls. It seems time consuming to me. Are there any recipes for bread or rolls where yeast isn't involved? If so is there a difference in taste if not using yeast?
@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD will do! TFS! Love your spirit and your videos! Say hello 👋🏾 to Mother! I no longer have my Mother, but I too cherished her while she was with us. 💞
Hi Chef! Hope you can help me out. My mom (rip) used to make these amazing onion rolls that smelled and tasted yeasty. I know the goal of pro bakers is not to have that yeasty smell/flavor but that’s what I want. Any tips? I’ve tried adding extra yeast/different types but that didn’t do the trick.
If you love it so much why don't you do it and go into business. You are not going live forever you know, so you either do it while you can, or after while you can forget it!

Nothing better than hot bread and butter.

Awesome. Thanks for following my channel.
These remind me of O'Charley's Dinner Rolls, I could eat of dozen myself. Thanks for the recipe and tip on rolling and cutting.
Butter yeast rolls look really good. 😋
So good!
I would have liked to see the crumb on the rolls. I remember our school rolls being a little dense and so soft. Yummm!

You can’t take the place of a good yeast roll. They aren’t that difficult to make. Go watch my videos on yeast rolls
