Man those look great. I need to make some of these for my cooking channel. Not only the cafeteria-style but that Speckled Mealamine bowl was always in the cafeteria too.
HAHA!! Those bowls are like a treasure now. Use the recipe and tweak it to your taste, bread is so versatile and easy. Happy Thanksgiving and send me your cooking channel info. Rob
Boy this was a back in time memory. LOL. Those rolls looked ever so good! Pass the mayo and some maters and lets eat! Stay safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
This recipe is the best!! What size pan did you use? Mine didn't come out as high as yours. I think my sheet pan was too big. They were still light and fluffy, I just love them.
Good morning! Had to beam in to tell you I realized my hubby was watching this video the other day - lucky me! He stirred up a batch of these yesterday and they got done just in time to have sliders for dinner. What a perfect recipe - the rolls turned out really good; so tender and tasty. Your recipe's a keeper - did you ever do a video using the whole 20# of flour?? Thanks so much for sharing!!
I've made these 2x and mine don't come out as nice looking. But they taste amazing! Do you have any advice on how to make them fluff up more? I follow the recipe to the T. Each time it has to rest I wait for it to double. The yeast in the measuring cup with warm water and sugar doesn't look as big as yours does in the video. But I do make sure the rest of the resting steps have the dough double in size. I just dont know what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks for sharing! I used to trade my all my food (except for school pizza, spaghetti, and some desserts) for these bad boys. I loved to st a small section of my plate and every once in a while smash my roll on the salt. ( I was a kid! 😆) Do you ever make cheese biscuits wit these? If so any tips...
Hello, I wanna try these real soon! They remind me of those old cafeteria Surprise Burgers. I can’t seem to find the recipe anywhere. It’s just a roll like u made with seasoned ground beef baked in it. I’m hoping you can help me out, thanks : )
Stens syrup and peanut butter! A big glass of milk and baw you got a snack right there! Great tutorial to make some great rolls! Chaw gonna be making dat soon! Thanks for sharing brother! Cook Dat!!
there was one word i could not understand in your presentation at the point where you were talking about crisco, rewound a few times but could not get, is it just crisco or something else
I worked in school for service for 25 years and this isn’t how we made them but that’s OK. We used shortening but at home I used butter never use. Oil oil is really bad.
I made these today. I have no idea what I did wrong or what happened but mine came out looking like biscuits and weren’t fluffy at all, like the video showed. They were still delicious but I’m wondering if I did something wrong.

Me too!! Thanks for watching, Rob
FYI, your video says 1/2 Teaspoon salt and ingredients say 1/2 Tablespoon salt. ?
With classic school lunch tuna that would be bomb. Maybe some mashed tatos
Omg
Those look so good! But I can’t do it! Just make me some!
LOL! Try it, it's not that hard. Thanks for watching. Rob
Maybe I will. I’m not much of a baker. I will try your gumbo recipe tomorrow though!
