I broke a nunchuk the same way. I really wanted to store it in the belt so instead of throwing it away I cut the broken parts off and made a new chain for it using sculpting wire that I painted orange. Drilled the right size holes in the tops of the handles and super glued them in. You can't even tell when looking at them.
I remember my dad trimming the weapons for me and even fixing my nunchucks when they broke. He would drill through the nunchuck handle and glue in a wire that had an orange sleeve on it.❤
It caught me way off gaurd, and admittedly I laughed too much. Also, I had no idea that was a weapons rack growing up. I just thought it held all the weapons in one place for shipping. When you said that I had a complete "mind blown" moment.
my original Raph was a soft head, i played w it and smashed it in and mom had to take a pin to make an air hole to reinflate the head. the toys were based on the comics not the tv show, i recently bought all the walmart turtles. i bought 2 each one to open and one to hang on the wall, personally yes they arent as colorful but i really like em ive been waiting years to get my turtle collection back w/o having to spend alot of money. great video, i'm subscribing
The soft heads sound like more trouble than they are worth, ha ha ha. The packaging on these are well worth keeping in box, I just keep a Raph, though more stock keeps appearing at my store here, might end up with the set anyway...
I usually cut the bubble from the top side on the back right about to the midway through with a kitchen knife. Then you can slide the figure in and out and you don't screw the boxed art and it also does not look opened unless you wrinkle the outside bubble.
If I had the space that would be awesome. I have to open for my videos projects here anyway so people can see! Hopefully someone else sees this if they want the best of both.
I remembered getting my Michelangelo in 88'... I broke the nunchucks on the next day.... I was so heartbroken that time... So i have to use all the Turtle's Kama as replacement for Mikey's weapons... Then years later (when I started to learn home economics at school) I made my own nunchucks using sticks, strings and glue... Many years later i got these reissue... Someone taught me to store Mikey's nunchucks, place the first nunchuck's end into the 1st slot and the other end into 3rd slot, then place the second nunchuck's end into 2nd slot and the other end into 4th slot, so that you don't have to worry of being snapped... (Then I bought the bootleg movie star turtles, I swapped their weapons with my vintage turtles' weapons, the bootleg nunchucks are elastic and rubbery, perfect replacement for my vintage Mikey's weapons)
The staggering is much smarter for the storage, great tip. Mine lasted longer when I was younger but I guess it had been too long when I got these to remember that one.

I picked up a set of these recently and so far I am keeping them on the card. Here in Canada we have the bilingual cards and the turtles do not have their own card art but instead have the same card for all of them. The villains and splinter do have their own card art though. I got a set of all the figures back in 2009 when they released them for the 25th anniversary of the TMNT and I kept them in the package until 2012 when my oldest son was old enough to enjoy them. This was at the time the new Nick TMNT came out so I got him his own set of figures from that line. I also got a set of Storage shell Turtles as my vintage ones have no weapons and 2 of them have no shell even! Those I opened and keep them on my work desk which makes me smile when I look at them throughout the work day.
That's a great use in saving them for kids. I helped a friend find a few for a full set to save for his son in the future. But they are also great for keeping in packaging also. I know the same carding for the Turtles is likely a copy of later carding, with all four turtles on it? So it's still pretty legit in appearance.
Nothing can beat the original release, but I ll definetely buy these, as I always wished and never had them. I love TMNT and everything related (but till 93 or something). In my country the price will be around 20 dollars
Not having as a kid is a big part of why I collect a lot of stuff. So I understand that all the way. $20 is not so bad. I will be doing some Ghostbusters here soon that we're $15 each, and original figures cost even more to get now.
Without direct comparison they are not too bad. I don't notice them on my shelf with other TMNT figures. it's good to have them with their full weapons again.
Raphael was the first one i got. I got Mikey from a friend but the arm was broken and one night when my parents came home they had Leo and Don with them.
I have just ordered Raphael from Amazon because he was my first Turtle that I have got, and I have chose the classic one over the Super 7 because I did not want to have too many items and Accessories, only the Shredder that I got him from the Super 7 series
Hate to hear that but that is what's awesome about these re-releases. I keep seeing them stocked, I may get a set to store away for some lucky to kid have later.
A lot of what I show here are my old toys I have kept in good shape. Lost a few accessories of course but most things are in great shape. So thank you.
Possible pinning it more flat instead of just hanging on one point. I always had a big cork board for MOC figures that I knew I wasn't going to open. Extra pins all around, not stabbed through but pushing it flat can keep it that way unless you have some bad climate control like too hot, or humidity.
Not a lot with a remake. This isn't even the first time they have released a remake of these. The originals will always go up in value but remakes will loose some value when they get released again later. They are nice to have in place of originals due to the price being low, so not sure if many would buy remakes at a much higher price.
