I’d just got my first electric guitar and was looking for some learning material…spotted his Starlicks tutorial video in a shop in the UK, bought it and a lot of the info and passion in the video launched me onto a lifetime of playing, still learning and that’s the miracle of guitars..

Rik is amazing an guitarist, vocalist, and composer. Like many of the bands I love, Rik is really intelligent and real! PS. love Midsummer's Daydream! Saw you many times at Maple Leaf Gardens and in Guelph last year for an unplugged blessing in the first few rows. Have 4 guitars and respect you deeply! (and love RUSH too, so I love complicated guitar like yours) I played Mel Bay #1 guitar book too...lol.
Please for next time ask Rik about Rick Santers. A Night of Triumph is such a masterful show, with Santers filling out the live sound as heard on the studio recordings. I have always wondered why Rik never speaks about Rick and if he considered working with Rick like he did with Dave Dunlop.
Don't buy the book if you are looking for a memoir of Rik's time in Triumph. You can count those pages on two hands and feet. It is more along the lines of life-coaching for musicians or artists, fathers, husbands. Hopefully Gil will write a Triumph memoir if that's what you want to read.
@@geraldhartley They played at the Heavy Metal Holocaust August 1, 1981... It included Ozzy, Motorhead, Mahogany, Vardis and couple of other bands. There are videos of Ozzy and Motorhead on YT, I haven't Triumph ones.... Triumph also played Sweden 2007. If you search YT, you can find it under Triumph Sweden Rock. I do believe that the UK and Sweden would be considered part of Europe
