I have a young zanadu, I bought it at the nursery because I thought it was cute. I had no idea at all how to care for it and just this month I decided to try it in bright light, right near a west facing window (she struggled for 2 months) and she’s taken off. I can’t tell you how excited I am to discover she will mature into what you have! What a nice surprise.
I love these gusy in all their phases from big to small, sometimes I see ones outside and im blw away at how bushy they can get!!

Thanks for the information. I just rehomed this plant from someone. When I grabbed it off the shelf I realized it had a root pretty deep into the plant next to it. I had to pull it out obviously to move it but what do I do with those roots?

Personally I have not had any issues with these and I had a recent spidermite and Aphid outbreak it made out scott free on both!

What’s the difference between this Xanadu and the Bonsai version? Or is there even a bonsai version? I see a lot on Etsy.
This is very interesting I looked into it and I cant say for sure BUTTT it looks like a standard Xanandu that has been pruned to have a tree like structure over time with exposed roots! They are super cool it would probably take a while but I think you could archive this with any Xanandu with enough training!
I just bought mine online and it's having a good deal of yellowing and browning--but it's also popping new leaves...what am I doing wrong!?
My first instinct when I hear yellowing leaves is a watering issue however with that said plants tend to go through a lot of stress when shipping and it is very possible it is just recovering form that I would keep an eye on it and see if it calms down over time!
Love your video! Informative and to the point. Just got one recently. Not an hyped up plant but I just love the leaf that gives off the jungle vibe. It is reasonable and easy to grow. BTW, love your orange planter with the pilea ... so fitting! Where did you get the planter?
I feel like there are so many great plants like this that arnt super hyped but still add a really cool vibe to your collection! And thank you, I got it probably 2 years ago at homegoods and I ended up loving it so much I styled my entire bedroom around it 😂🧡

Great question for most places I would say yes, these plants definitely like sun, I dont here in Arizona because it can still get a little out of had here but almost anywhere else I would say winter sun is great!
this is probably one of the more helpful videos i've found for this plant but i'm still pretty confused how to apply it to my sickly one 😭 it was growing under my mum's care and i only just discovered how bad it got...there's only really one completely dark green leaf, the others are yellowing or fading (still some main shade of green) but a few are dying outright. It's been underwatered for sure but i don't know whether it's too bright or too dark in its new location 😭
Hey! so its funny (well not funny but ironic lol) that you mentioned the leaves look faded I actually missed watering on mine and some of my leaves also began to fade. Personally I give mine a ton of sun (it even gets some direct light in the late afternoon) and it seems to really like it, but i have had it in dark locations as well! I feel like these can be a little tricky at first but I hope this helps get things on the right path!

When its grown, first thing I thought was a plant for the hopefully future aviary I've been wanting to build for my macaws, but then u brought up the poisonous aspect. Thats a no lol.. Great presentation and info ma'am!
lol yeah probably wouldn't be for the best that sounds so interesting though! My friend growing up always had birds I loved them and they all hated me 😂
