I've never understood why Slaanesh is considered the weakest of the dark pantheon. It is the only god that can't lose the great game. Every time the other gods make 'a play' in the great game, to further their strength, they are feeding Slaanesh. Excess of ambition, power and position is exactly what the other gods are constantly acting out. Slaanesh is the only god that wins when the other gods also win. It can't be beaten

If I had to pick one thing from the warhammer/40k community that I hated it is how much they underestimate and downplay Slaanesh. In 40k, the only army to EVER defeat the Ultramarines was the Emperor's Children. They call Slaanesh weak but the other dark gods have to enforce discipline in their ranks to avoid him/her. Literately 90% of a Khorne Bezerkers training is how to always kill in one attack because if they must swing once more they will open the possibilities of emotions entering their mind. Combat is its own high and that is why Khorne prefers his followers to slaughter instead. You are just as likely to fall to Slaanesh in your quest for the arcane because your ambition turned into greed. The euphoria of surviving a bleak situation can be easily twisted into an addiction rather than a lesson and thus where a soul would find themselves devoted to Nurgle now find themselves endlessly seeking that pleasure found only at the brink of death. This addiction fuels the Dark prince. Pride is the gateway to all sins and the Dark Prince wields this knowledge well.
The nurgle one is a huge stretch. Nurgle is the antithesis of Slaanesh. Slaanesh is all about pleasure and greater highs, Nurgle is all about dour determinism and acceptance of your place in the grand scheme of things. Though Tzeentch and Nurgle are direct rivals, Khorne is the direct rival to Slaanesh. Slaanesh is about carnal pleasures and khorne is about pleasure in carnage. Tzeentch is about unfettered innovation consequences be damned and Nurgle is the damned consequences and the stagnation and entropy that follows. Unlike khorne and Tzeentch though, his follows really aren't seeking anything, they should already basically have all they need, they just want to share their knowledge with others in the form of sneezing on them and blight grenades. The only way I could see a Nurgle follower turning to slaanesh is if he becomes regretful that he can no longer appreciate pleasure, but on the other hand that would be like a slaanesh follower becoming sick of the decadence and wanting to relax. Interesting ideas to play with but WAY too nuanced for warhammer writers. If it isn't about planets blowing up, GW can't be bothered to talk about it because only planets exploding is exciting- and it never stops being exciting. Hearing the same story over and over and over again without any variation never gets boring. At least to GW's mind anyway. "ehhh the planet blew up and these new monsters came out of the warp- buy our NEW plastic toys, you fucks".

Slaanesh's influnce is the hardest to resist because it preys our psyche perfectly. The best way to deal with Slaanesh is to live like the Craftworld Eldar do, a extremely regimented life.
personally I tend to refer to Slaanesh as a she, mainly 'cause of 40k (considering Slaanesh's name there is "She who Thirsts"), but also considering most art of Slaanesh is usually as the female variant not so much the male
Imo the army would work as a hit and run, moral/attrition kind of army. You would charge across the field at blistering speed to reduce the amount of time the enemy has to shoot at you. You would cause one or two units to become low moral and charge in your monteres or chariots to finish them off. As they start to flee you disengage and allow your rapid cavalry to finish off the retreating force. And repeat till the enemy are wiped out or you are wiped out by missile fire.

I prefer thinking of Slaanesh as a female. It's more fitting since male bodies aren't exactly enticing, and the idea more so in 40k that she's weaker and younger than her brothers sets her apart. She's also the least martial of the 4, other than maybe Nurgle. I think it qualifies it as different enough that I think she is a "she". Besides we already have 3 males if you consider Tzeentch to be male. Personally I like how Nurgle invaded her realm and stole the captured Elf Goddess- which again is more 40k, but GW doesn't care enough to make their canon clear so I won't either, at any rate, why of the 4 I prefer Nurgle, but I do hope when slaanesh comes out she's a M+ DLC. We need official CA tits and wonderful piercings to do it justice. Ca already gave us barefoot Morathi, so I have faith they will deliver on the goods.
