@@yemastillas near the end of the game i think it's been a minute mae describes playing a game and having fallen in love with all the characters but at a point she realized that she was the only one feeling love towards them and not the other way around kinda like how you grow attached to mae bea greg and angus or agnus i forgot the spelling
On the bright side, Mae's attachment to her friends isn't meaningless to *them*. On the contrary, it's ultimately what saves her.

I love that you play bass in this game, it is such an cool and overlooked instrument if you could believe that. Many people don't even notice the bass in a song, kinda sad.
The songs are easy to learn by ear too, especially this one. I could tab it, but naaahhhh.
I notice it because I usually think it's too quiet.
(HD600s give pretty neutral sound, but I use them for entertainment and not just reference).
I tend to bump it up via equalizer by +1 to +6db, depending on the mix.
If you took the bass out of a thrash metal song, for example, it would truly sound horrible.
The bass fills up that lower part of the spectrum. It's absolutely necessary.
I guess it's like drums and audio-engineering in a way.
The best bassist, drummer or audio engineer is one you don't notice.
Metallica St. Anger is a good example of how not to do things.

Depends on the genre for that one.
A funk or blues bassist that's used to being given solo time would not fit some other genres where the bass needs to blend with the song, not accentuate it.

This song hits like, really close to home for me, I live in a small town like possum springs where you either move away or stay trapped, I got the chance to go to college so assuming I don't break I'll eventually be able to move away. But I always get this feeling that it's the wrong thing to do. All my family lives here, I grew up here, maybe I'm not thinking about what was here before. But I don't want this place to be my life, I don't want to go another 20 years in this same town. I dunno, I guess NITW made me realize a lot of stuff that I'd been happy ignoring or pretending wasn't bothering me. I think that's why I love it so much, it made these things that were hurting me things I could hold onto and identify, instead of being sad and not knowing why I actually understand what's going on with me. Pretty amazing how a game with a gay fox talking about his boyfriend's ass change you so much hehe.

I know how you feel. My hometown is a lot like Possum Springs too. Old abandoned shoe factory/farm town whose only special thing now is an annual fair. Most people have never heard of my town, and if they do know it, its only because of the fair. Its bittersweet being away from there now. I miss knowing every street, pretty much every family, where I live now doesn't feel as powerfully familiar and cozy. But its also a dead-end town. There's nothing there for you as an adult. My mom still has my sister in school and she dreams of moving away after she's out. Its just . . a residence town. A few minimum wage jobs, no opportunities. When a new store or restaurant opens up its like a huge event and everyone has to go there and try it out. NitW feels almost like I'm visiting again. Minus all the spooky cult stuff. In my old hometown here's just like, a haunted mansion or two left over from the shoe mill days.

Everytime I listened to this song, I just broke down, crying. This game tugged on my heartstrings, it was the only game in my life where I actually didnt want to kill the characters because of how annoying they are, everyone was like my best friend, it felt like I knew everyone in the game, like for the first time, I didn't feel super awkward. This game needs more recognition, and I think everyone who worked on this deserves all the credit. Thank you, Alec Holowka.

I spent 3 hours trying to get at LEAST a good rating on Pumpkin-Head Guy, but I guess that just won't ever happen unless you spend 8 HOURS on the song.

I loved the soundtrack while playing, I was waiting to finish the story before listening to ost again, but now, with all I've been through with Mae, everything has a nostalgia taste. And it's hurting, or touching hard at least. I'd like spend more time with Mae, see what will happen next. I really enjoyed this routine of playing every day, but I got too attached to her. shit.

There's something about Night in the Woods that just gives you nostalgic throwbacks, I don't know if it's the soundtrack, or just the atmosphere, characters, or play-style the game gives off - *this game will probably be on my mind of a while.*

I just started playing this game and its already one of my favorites by chapter 2, I've never played such a relatable and funny game. It breaks my heart that the creator and composer, Alec Holowka, took his life. I hope his spirit sees how many lives he's made happier. Godspeed to him.

This was the game made want to learn and play bass guitar.
Funny of all the favorite classics, songs and albums I listened to all my life yet its this game and Mae and her adorable friends that really pushed me to finally play the instrument.
Not to mention I can cover the songs in the game if I want to later on, they're already very fun with a controller as rhythm game but covering them for real I'd find it will be a blast.
The first game I played where the main character plays bass and she's not afraid to admit that she kind of sucks at it.

Learning Mae played bass made me so happy as a bass player. Little did I know I would go on to relate to Mae even more outside of her choice of instrument. Best game.
