Fun fact: Epoch means a period of time in history or a person's life, typically one marked by notable events or particular characteristics. I've seen some theories saying that the bear's name is Epoch, so he could possibly represent an epoch?
Mimzy i think the bear was married to the bunny and accidentally killed her (her red flowers piled on a lily pad) by drowning, he ran away but the polar bear (his wife maybe or son) knew and he was sad so he decided to do the right thing and went to jail, even if it was a complete accident
OK, so this song isn't like what you think... no, it's not Freddy Fazbear, it's actually darker. This song is based on a book called "I Want My Hat Back" (not the DR version)! "I Want My Hat Back" is where a bear has lost his hat and asks if anyone has seen it. He comes across a rabbit with a hat (presumably the bear's hat). He asks the rabbit if he has seen a hat. The rabbit says something along the lines of "No I have not seen your hat, I would not take a hat, don't ask me any more questions." The bear doesn't ask anymore. so the bear is sad because he lost his hat. THEN he realizes that the rabbit has stolen his hat, he beats on the rabbit and eats him. At the end a squirrel says "Have you seen a rabbit with a hat around?" the bear says something along the lines of "No I have not seen a rabbit, I would not EAT a rabbit, don't ask me any more questions." referring to that he ate the rabbit to get his hat back. In this song at the end at the town part, we see signs saying "WE DEMAND JUSTICE" with a picture of a rabbit at the bottom. The bear feels guilty for what he did, so he turns himself in. Sad ain't it?
I hate people like this bro it’s just a song let people imagine it however they want you don’t have to do three pages of dam research lmao Edit: I’m getting so much hate lol I’m sorry if I offended anyone I think I was supposed to comment on a different comment sorry if I caused confusion
@@mxw1234 Not thing is the darkest bro, why you need to make people think it is just low level? You know that there are even darker story out there, and they can say the same to you=)) farewell. I'm not offending, just suggesting
So... is it possible this is partially a reference to the children’s book “I Want My Hat Back” in which (spoiler alert) a brown bear discovers a white rabbit stole his red hat and then ate the rabbit in retribution? 🤔
@@carworld1088 The original comment was talking about how the saddest part for them was when all the memories of the bear _when_ they were innocent came back to the bear.
The naivety yet somewhat matureness of the bear at the beginning when he says, " Everyone makes mistakes, I've had more than my share but it's okay 'cause I'm gonna repair it" really hits different after watching and listening to this song over and over realizing that he only wants redemption for his actions after the 'incident' he incurred towards the little rabbit but we all know that in life nothing is ever truly forgiven and repaired; the family will always remember him as a murderer no matter what he does and so will everyone else have that memory of him while to us he's forgiven seeing as to how he feels, reflects upon and even has the will and courage to turn himself in willingly to hopefully prove that he has truly "Had a change of heart" as he says in the song.
after years i finally realize what this song is. it goes to show that no mather if u regret something or not you can forgive yourself if u do the right thing, the bear killed the rabbit but it seems like he didnt intend to do it, he had a "change of heart" and decided to turn himself in instead of trying to let it heal and finally be able to forgive himself. its still a banger tho
Heres my say on this whole theory thing going on. So the bear killed the rabbit and ran away, taking a flower the rabbit was holding He then woke up from sleep one day and went to turn himself in. He passes a house where a cat was recently arrested for abusing his family. He then goes to the graveyard to pay his respects to his victim. He keeps on going to the town to turn himself in. He passes the swamps, where recently a frog genocide went on. As he enters the town, he has flashbacks when he was a young happy innocent child, and how much of a monster he has become. As he nears the station, people(most likely the rabbits friends) look out the window and see the flower their friend had liked so much, and they now know he is the killer. The bear was turned in, and was put in prison for life. To his right cell was the frog mass murderer(the crocodile) And to his left the abusive cat. And at last, the bear's guilt was cured, and he crawled into a ball in his cell, waiting for Death to come.
Also, I can back up some of this theory. As I said, The flashbacks represent him as an innocent child. We can see that the bear is white, a symbol of pureness, in the flashbacks. Be free to try and think of other things to comment/things that don't make sense in my theory. I may have made some mistakes. Feel free to correct them. (BUT DO NOT CORRECT GRAMMAR. IF YOU DO, I WILL DISLIKE YOUR COMMENT)
For those who didn't understand the story: the bear killed the rabbit and escaped, taking a flower that the rabbit was holding. One day he woke up and went out to deliver. He passes the house where a cat was recently arrested for abusing his family. So he goes to the cemetery to pay tribute to the victim. Keep going into town to surrender. Cross the swamps, where a frog genocide recently occurred. When he enters the city, he has memories of when he was a happy, innocent child, and what a monster he became. As he approaches the station, people (probably the rabbits' friends) look out the window and see the flower that their friend liked so much, and now they know that he is the killer. The bear was surrendered and imprisoned for life. In his right cell was the mass murderer of the frog (the crocodile) and on the left was the abusive cat. And finally the bear's flaw was cured, and he lay in a ball in his cell, waiting for death to come. NOTE: I didn't make this theory, it was a guy called FuriosFuz, I just took the comment so everyone knows
Wow...the fact that you admitted that this wasn't your original comment means you've learned the morale of the song by applying that *is* really amazing😮
what actually happned was the bear lost his hat the rabbit took his hat and lied so when he realised the rabbit took his hat he ate him but felt bad so he went into the town and gave himslef in
This is very likely based on the book 'I Want My Hat Back' In that, a bear can't find his hat and asks around with other animals, searching for his hat. One of them is a rabbit, who is rather rude and lies about not having his hat. Later on, the bear realises that it was the rabbit who stole it, goes back, and is implied to have killed and/or eaten the rabbit, taking his hat back. A squirrel then asks him if he's seen the rabbit, with the bear lying in the same manner as the rabbit did. In this, it's implied the bear feels guilty about the rabbit's death now and goes to turn himself in. Only difference is that the hat is red and pointy, in this it’s a black top hat.
If you'll notice, the swamp starts with a large number of flowers, lily pads, and frogs. The scene then cuts to a different area of the same swamp, but with scattered petals everywhere and no lily pads except for one with a huge amount of flowers stacked in a pile. At the very end you can see the crocodile holding a pink flower in the cell. He murdered (presumably ate) all the frogs in that section of the swamp.
@@SoHuendriu Theres no swamp at all in the book Neither does the bear ever turn himself in for his crime If you haven't noticed, none of the other animals that were IN the book are here This music video was based on the book, with doing this it takes away and adds new elements to the story The crocodile and cat being some of those added elements
@@SoHuendriu lol man, none of these characters are in the book only the bear, last time i checked it wasnt about an alligator so idk wtf you talkin bout lol
i love how this adds so much added depth to a children's book i admittedly never heard of till now. so the book ends with the rabbit who may of stolen the bears hat dissapearing without a trace, with the implication that the bear ate him. but what i love about this is that is gives a real aftermath to that decision, the rabbit is mourned, posters demanding justice, the bear spirals into guilt as he wanders about with a dead flower in his hand until he gives himself in for his crime. he doesnt forgive himself for what he did, so hes still in the same spot as he was just finally where he can attone for his crimes
This is by far my favourite remix by The Living Tombstone. It has so much emotion and charm with the empowering lyrics whilst still having epic music that manipulates the usually up beat EDM sound to be melancholy. I know this comment will be lost in dark woods of the comment section (or not) but I just have to congratulate the team of TLT for making this spectacular remix.
"Can't you see ? We are free, To chose our destiny, And be the way we want to be. A second chance. You just need to Believe." My favorite part I will always remember those lyrics.
2:33 , notice in this scene they are all looking at him curiously, wondering why someone would be walking out here in the middle of the night, but in a later scene they and looking at him with angry eyes, as they have realized the flower the bear is holding is the bunny’s flower and know he is the murderer
And near that clip there is posters of a bunny holding the same rose the bear is and also on the posters it is saying we demand justice I think it says that because the bear killing the bunny. And they are still finding out who the murderer is before the bear turns himself in to the police.
1:54 This is my favorite part of the song where the Bear is basically looking at past memories where he was an innocent guy before the rabbit stole his hat
It's almost been 5 years later and this is still a bop Edit: i changed the number from 3 to 5 but yall need to stop correcting a comment from 2 years ago fr lmao
Here is what I think happened: the bear’s hat was stolen and he found out that the rabbit stole it, so he killed it. Then he went to sleep, just to wake up feeling guilty, and then he realized that he committed a crime. So he decided to turn hinself into the police. He past a house were a cat abusing its loved ones was arrested. He starting feeling more guilty as he reached the flowers because of the flower in his hand.then he went to the graveyard so he could pay his respects. He realized that the flower they always held was missing, but he didn’t put it near the grave because he felt he didn’t deserve to. Then he made his way to the forest where a bird asked him what was wrong, but he said he was fine. The bird kept following him in the forest as it began to rain. He made it to the pond, where a crocodile recently committed frog genocide. He made it to the town, and as he was at the town, he remembered himself just being an innocent child, but now a murder. Then he was at the neighborhood where the rabbits friends looked at the flower, and realized that it was the one that their beloved friend held most, so they knew he was the killer. Then he made it to the police station, where he was sentenced to to prison. Then he saw the crocodile who committed frog genocide and the abusive cat, holding flowers like they are guilty too, like him. But he put that thought aside and went to sleep, proving that he could repair his mistake in a way. Let me know what you think!
Actually during the repitition of "believe" it shows that the bear is holding balloons. so my thought was the bears balloon popped and he landed on the bunny and that the hat was originally the bunnies
The thing that really hits me is 2:04. The bear spinning around, seeing all his past memories and experiences, knowing he'll never go back to his old innocence again because of what he did is so sad. The song also keeps repeating "Believe", the word running through his head since he can make it better. He can redeem himself. Honestly every time I watch this song, I'm closer and closer to tearing up, and, just so you know, I'm not a person that cries. This song is just that effective through it's lyrics, visuals, and overall charm/sadness. It's also a bop, can't overlook that. Edit: This had no reason to get so popular.
He turned himself in for killing the rabbit. in the town, in the background it shows a bunny with the words "We want justice" along with the red flower he was holding. Also near the end you see a sign that says "police station >" big sad :(
But why did he kill the rabbit? Was it out of guilt? Hatred? Envy? Or was he framed and the lingering dread of blood on his hand forced him to turn himself in? WE WANT ANSWERS!
Let's all agree 1:05 you have to find this scene as cute as I find it, the little birdy Edit, I was sad to see at where epoch was walking through the rain. The little birdy couldnt catch up, where eventually, he possibly died. Which almost made me cry, as I liked how he looked, he was cuddly,
this song gives me nostalgia, i havent listened since like 6-7 years ago, i just came upon a yt short with this song and now im back here. this reminds me of my childhood, i wrote this song down so i'd never forget to listen to it again
If somebody else commented what I’m about to say, sorry, I don’t mean to copy ónò I have a theory that this is about a book that I used to own called I Want My Hat Back. This is a book about a bear, who had a hat, but it was stolen. The bear is very polite, asking everyone if they had seen his hat. One of the animals he asked was a little white rabbit sitting in a patch of grass. Remember this. The rabbit was wearing the bear’s hat, but denied it, to keep the story moving along probably. At the end, the bear gives up, and flops down. A deer finds him, and asks him what his hat looks like. “It’s red, and pointy...” And then there is a two-page illustration tinted red of the bear. I think this is where he just *snaps*. He runs past all of the other animals to the rabbit. They have a staring contest (not really but they do squint at eachother), and then there is a picture of the bear sitting in the patch of grass. A squirrel comes up to him asking if he had seen the rabbit, but the bear denies it. I think that this video takes place a few months after this incident. The police have noticed the rabbit is missing, and the bear, filled with guilt, goes to the police station to own up.
I know everyone is sad about that bunny But can we just *bear* in mind how the bear was practically depressed the whole time. He literally walked through a cemetery and everything
Honestly, listening to this now, this kind of feels like society today. No one will bat an eye at something that seems harmless even if it's done something wrong, like the rabbit in the story, but when someone who seems mean or scary retaliates because of what was done, society will shame and scorn that person, like the town did to the bear.
Ok this is going to be a long one. This is my theory on the song and animation. Sorry in advance for how much ranting I do My theory is similar to many other comments, I believe that each flower represents something. For me the red flower represents life or innocence. First of the bear is holding a red flower, meaning he’s a murderer right? I interpret that as he took life with his bare (haha) hand. The bunnies life was in the bears hands. This theory is backed up by the river scene. In this scene, there are frogs on the lily pads that are then killed by the alligator ( or so we assume) then we see on one giant lily pad a pile of red flowers. Does this mean that every frog was a murderer? No this is showing the loss of life. I agree with the fact that blue means protection or sacrifice as the father of lil Timmy holds one in the prison looking sad whilst lil Timmy himself is holding a red flower which, like we said earlier, means that he killed someone. However I think this could also have another meaning. I believe that this red flower represents the fathers life. I think that the father has been accused of murder and has been locked up, but lil Timmy saw what happened and holds the evidence to free his convicted father, saving his life. Tbh I believe both that Timmy killed someone and that the father was accused, I’m just putting my ideas out here in the comments I think that the yellow flowers from the field mean a major point in someone’s life. This is less do with the animation and more to do with what the song is saying. “We look back and we only see on path” implies that although many choices were made, we don’t see the outcome of the other options. This is further backed up by three things, the first being about 2 seconds later in the song “we are free, to choose our destiny” this implies the same thing, choices. The second point being that the start of the chorus (which is first heard in the plane of yellow flowers btw) is about wanting to change life’s decisions “take it back to the start, I’ve had a change of heart”. My final point being that the name of the song, epoch, means an important point in some-ones life, like i dont know, an important decision? Also minor thing that the graveyard has yellow flowers, as death is a pretty major point in someones life. I belive that there is another flower, the pinkish flower that the alligator holds in the closing frame. I agree with many people that this means genocide. The genocide of the frogs So tl:dr Red flower = life or innocence Blue flower = protection or sacrifice Yellow flower = choice/major point in someones life Pink flower = genocide
He's just getting closer to the police station. He knows what he is going to do, where he is going, and who he is from his first step in the video as he walks straight to it to turn himself in.
This song is like a final encouragement for me, when I am at the bottom of my life, this song is the only thing that can help me through my depression. I would like to express my greatest appreciation to all the people involved in this song, thank you so much.
It’s sad when you observe what is happening in the song, and realize the real meaning behind the lyrics and the art. The bear will never be the same after the incident, he thinks he can “make it better than it ever was” but in reality he’s trying to get out of the deep dark hole that he has dug himself into. The family of the rabbit’s will never forgive him and everyone will treat him like a piece of trash. He decides to turn himself in knowing that he can’t escape his own guilt.
Loved the song. This resonates deep inside my mind, body, soul, spirit, and entity. one of the best things about this song is the fact that it is animated with the style of DSI flipnote, a little choppy and you can count the pixels, but that is what makes it charming and, to me, kinda nostalgic
I've seen no one make a theory on the bird, so here At 1:00 the bird seems happy. There's sunshine and green trees That's the bears happiness Then at 1:10 it starts to rain, and making his regret of killing worse, and the bird is slowly falling behind. His happiness is washing away
For those who dont get it: this is based of the kids book "i want my hat back" and a rabbit took the bears hat, the bear then eats the rabbit and takes his hat back[ very odd kids book ] and in the song, hes turning himself in for eating the rabbit and...yeah....he turns himself in and gets more confident throughout the song... Your wellcome
My take on the story is that the bear ended up killing the rabbit, most likely because of something crime related. He keeps the flower from the rabbit and becomes overwhelmed with guilt. He visits the rabbits grave and looks back on memories when he was an innocent child with potential, just like them. Realizing just how wrong this life he has chosen is, and he decides to do the right thing and turn himself in.

I’ll tell you a story of why this song is so important to me. In 6th grade I was super unlikable and kinda annoying and hated And overall a terrible person. And when I realized how bad I was over summer break…I realized how bad I was and I regretted it all And when I was walking to the bus stop on the 1st day of 7th grade I walked with this song playing feeling hopeless knowing everyone still hated me but…I saw a light…This year wasn’t bad. But my best year EVER and I couldn’t believe it. I finally felt…like a person! And whenever I thought of losing it I thought of this with the phrase “I know we can make it better than it ever was echoing in my head over and over. Thank you TLT…You saved me from pain! Haha…
My theory is that this is about a book called I want my hat back, the rabbit steals his hat so he eats him, feeling guilty he goes to the police to turn himself in
That's an interesting find. The only major difference is that instead of a red pointy hat, it's a red flower. The same flower seen in the posters near the end.
“The line everyone makes mistakes” makes me believe he did not intend to kill the bunny but home saying “it’s ok cause I’m going to repair it” is him realizing that he can’t leave this to heal he needs to give closure by turning himself in to the authorities this is inthe first few kind of the song amazing
Also he hold a red flower at surface level it is him hold a flower of his victim but deeper level could be that the red flower is symbolic about the blood on his hand him understanding that the blood on your hands can’t be washed of him holding everywhere could mean that and the pile a red flowers could be how he feels about the situation feeling like he could have done something different heck the lyric playing while passing it is “choose a way less destructive” is symbolic, you my call me crazy for typing a whole paragraph about a song but my defense…. anyways write what you think
The red flower could be that he thinks he is somewhat redeemable as it is bent he’s done something wrong but not losses yet but close that my thoughts tho
A murder.... Something this bear regretted... Outcasted by many... He lived out in the farthest plains to be alone, and escape from the sins he caused... Somehow a small rabbit child was exploring with flowers in her hands. Seeing the bear in great sorrow, she pitied him. Even with the bear's protests to leave him alone, the rabbit was determined to befriend him... But the bear has endured for so long, finally he snapped, he warned the rabbit more harshly but she still refuses to go away... The bear blinded by anger and annoyance, swiped his claws at the rabbit, he expected for her to dodge a strike so slow, but for some reason, she purposely didn't move at all. The bear at disbelief, tried to help the rabbit. "It's ok Mr. Bear... I know you don't want friends, but... can I be one... just me at least... please..." After that sentence the rabbit made, she drew her last breath as her body was in the bloody snow, a red flower in her grasp, which has many meanings, but I prefer "murder". The bear looked at himself, yes he was a murderer before, but why did this one make him tremble. The answer may be mysterious but, after seeing his actions, he decided the one thing most people don't do. After properly burying the rabbit in the ground, he went on a long trip. Through a blizzard, through a cottage with two cats, through the forest, through the swamp with no life, and to the town, off course, he was still an outcast and hated by many, people peeked out from windows just to glare the bear... And finally, he arrived at the police station... where he submits himself from his crimes, not before remembering the good childhood he had. The happy friendly bear, compared to what he is.. Now, he lays in a cell, his red flower still in hand, he fully accepts the "monster" people claim him to be. Imprisoned for life, with two other murderers by each side of the bear's cell.
HunterTheFirst Slayer your right I also want to add on if you hear the song lyrics: take it back from the start I have changed of hearts. that hints that the bear wants to take it back from the start and wants to be friends with the rabbit before he kill her so he felt bad and traveled and met a yellow bird but then told what happened and the bird felt sad about what happened so when the he got to the town they were mad at the bear and so the bear looked at flashbacks at the old him fun, happy and smart and I just confirmed that those are not his victims and I saw a picture that look like his mom and when he got to the police station he turned his self in and the scars on his head meaning he might cut him self when traveling so he went to jail but holding the flower that the rabbit had and that's the end of this sad deep song and a lesson don't kill someone and if you do make a right choice to turn yourself in :-)
@@glitchghost5936 well the "we demand justice" and the "We demand the killer come forward" posters that included a picture of a bunny with a red flower makes it s little obvious
Es increible ver como ya pasaron 7 años,no tienen idea de como amo esta cancion. Aparte de que la letra me motiva a hacer mejor, es un golpe directo a la nostalgia.
So this is my take on the story. The bear killed a rabbit and mourned her death, regretting his actions. He wanders around for a bit, holding the flower that was at her funeral. In the end he strolls into the town we're the crime was committed, and the people are scared of him, he finds a police station and decides to turn himself in.

something that annoys me isnt your comment. its that soon this reply section is gonna be filled with annoying people going "WhAt AbOuT?" cuz theyre CLEARLY missing the point edit: see what did i fucking tell you. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO OBSESSED
I’ve heard this song for the first time when i was 11. Now i’m 18 and i understand why this video is a masterpiece Like, how the story of the bear changes the sense of the lyrics, it’s so awesome. And how it’s told through visual AND through lyrics, while them wheren’t written for it
in summary, bear turns himself in because of the immense guilt he feels after killing someone. the black cat at the end was also seen earlier in the video on a sign and was probably arrested for abusing his family? (since the mom cat and lil jimmy are now smiling with the black cats absence and carrying a red flower). the alligator at the end wasn't seen earlier but was probably lying in the swamps where the bear passes by. one moment we see happy bouncing frogs and when the next loop starts they all disappear as the bear passes by a large lilypad with a pile of red flowers. so we can really only assume that the alligator massacred them all and left a pile of flowers in his guilt and regret. the bear recalls how innocent he used to be and already knows that he can't make up for the things he did so will do the next best thing and turn himself in as an attempt. as someone else mentioned, (i think furiousfuz but i do not remember), they all were crying in their prison cells as they have to live with the guilt and pan for a very long time. they probably can't face humanity anymore. i would reply to their comment but i'm not gonna scroll through like 400 replies so i'll just type it here instead lol. please reply if you know what the red flower represents because i'm a bit confused on that part qwq
@@stringpoppy4685 Either that, or guilt. After his actions, he took the flower to remind himself. It's an allegory for what guilt can do, you keep it with you no matter what. Eventually, it causes him to turn himself in, in order to try and loosen the burden, but it doesn't. A similar case is PoTC's story of Davy Jones, who cuts his own heart out to try and stop feeling the guilt of his actions, but it doesn't. In fact, it seems to make him feel more guilty, as he still plays that very song from his locket, anguished cries leaving his mouth as he does. Guilt can eat you away, until you're nothing more than a husk, I should know; I never knew my granddad much, so it hurt when he died as most of my good memories with him were during his last couple months. So, I took this as a motivational story, don't let guilt control you. As the lyrics say "We've only seen one path. Can't you see, we are free, to chose our destiny, and be the way we want to be. A second chance..." Guilt can do one of two things, turn you into a shell, or motivate you to learn from your mistakes and evolve past them.
@@jestphoenix I think it could show how, even when you aren't the guilty one, sometimes it still affects you. I'm guessing (I'm a little hazy with the vid and too lazy to rewatch) it was the kid and mother who had an allegedly abusive father. Maybe the kid feels slightly guilty, for either believing it was HIM that was wrong, or that he couldn't help his mom.
So it looks like there are 3 characters who do bad things and decide to try and make things better by turning themselves into the police. As the bear travels we see the effects they had on the world and some of their stories. 3:10 shows, the cat, the bear, and the crocodile. The cat seems to be the dad of the family shown at 0:28. The kid is the one with the flower, so the dad likely did something bad to him that didn't kill him. Take that as you will. I also noticed that the cat's flower in jail is blue, which matches the color of the flowers around the house. The crocodile likely lived in the swamp. Probably the one shown at 1:37. He most likely killed a LOT of the frogs there. Finally the bear. We see he wakes up in the snowy tundra. And for the first 30 seconds or so, he actually seems to be MORE depressed than in the rest of the video. Starting at 2:26, we start to see the posters demanding justice, and for the killer to turn themselves in. However, the rabbit here is... small. At 2:04, we enter the bear's memories. (I don't think it shows the rabbit since the rabbit is too slim.) We see he's happy. Curious. Adventurous. And then the last thing we see is him holding a large number of balloons. Now, my theory is that he accidentally crushed him while floating and those balloons popped. That's why we see him initially wake up in the middle of a snowy landscape with no footprints leading to him. It's why he's so depressed in the beginning. He seems to perk up while walking through the field of yellow flowers. We see it's right next to a graveyard where the flowers honor the dead, so this is likely where he makes the decision to repair things, by turning himself in. As we see in the mug shot, the dude's 10 feet tall. So his footsteps likely alerted the townsfolk of his arrival at 2:26. However, at 2:36, we see the eyes narrow angrily, as they seem to have put together that the bear's the murderer. Edit: Few things to note. I overlooked the ears during the memory sequence, so it's showing the bear and rabbit in alternating scenes. Still fulfills that whole innocent time theme they were going for. Also, at least 10 people have pointed out that the hat and rabbit mean this video is referencing the book "I want my hat back", which is a simple 2 minute children's book. The bear lost his hat and walks around asking each animal if they've seen it. The rabbit very obviously lies and the bear moves on. Until like 4 animals later when describing his hat (a red cone in the book) he realizes the rabbit had it on his head. The next page has the bear very obviously lying about not eating the rabbit. So my balloon theory's been popped. But it doesn't explain the scar on his head (no view of it in any of the memories), nor the blood on his ear at the start. (0:10)

Someone brought up that it looks like a depressed Freddy Fazbear, and me knowing that the bear killed a bunny, I thought " I guess Freddy had enough of bonnie's tomfoolery".
I know this song is old but just found it and I found it during the worst moment of my life right now and it has really for some reason brought my spirits up and I just want to say thank you for this song, it really did help get me out of my funk thank you.
I really love this song! I know most people come for the Fnaf content but I genuinely enjoy your videos! Also I can't help but see an underlying message like the bears life was spiraling out of control, he lost those closest to him, and led to a life of crime, I love it when videos like this make you feel emotions!
i don't think it *actually* goes that deep, but i can see that. from the evidence in the video, it appears he accidentally killed a bunny (who previously owned the flower he is carrying) and walked a great distance to turn himself in.
Mathieu L I did the bear killed the bunny that's why he has the flower, then he went on journey contemplating his life/loved ones, an lastly went to the town and turned himself in because of his crime.
My thoughts about the story has already been mentioned, But! My meaning of the flowers is different I think the Red Flower means either of my three: Regret (The Bear), Depression (The Bear and The Cat [further explanation ahead] ) and Murder (The dead frogs) For the Blue: I still think it abuse because the 'dad' (black cat) is holding a blue flower at the end in his cell, and the house of the three cats had blue flowers. And the fact that I said the baby cat had a red flower which one of my meanings say it's depression. The baby cat may have been abused by the black cat which made the babay cat depressed. But part of me says it means Neglect, But I don't any support for that one For the Yellow Flower(The Crocodile): I think it's Massacre Because Crocodiles live in swamps and some frogs too, And the Crocodile must have been responsible for it (obviously). But the red. Flowers in the swamp, at the part where the frogs where gone are red, which raises my point in Red meaning Murder. P.S WAIT!!! NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT... I THINK RED MEANS VICTIM!!!! The frogs are dead, The baby cat was probably abused, and the bunny was intentionally or accidentally killed!!
@@lethality2338 No, it can be a good theory because if the bear accidentaly killed the little bunny and hold a red flower, it can be the fact that the bear is also a victim of his own action
i think the yellow flwer means that he died for natural cause ,because they stand in the graves, and the crocodrile hold it because it knows that he is going to die in jail
I didn’t understand when I was younger but then now reacting to it again this is one hell of a deep message. So the bear character kills the bunny or accidentally killed them and regrets doing it which makes them leave their home and go on a journey to turn themself in. And the part where he looks at images of him self being a innocent bear or as a cub was pretty sad. But my question is why did he kill him because at the start of the video it seems to me that they might have been friends or had some connection towards each other notice the bear’s look of guilt and misery. Plus the word epoch in the title which means a period of time in history or in a person life marked by notable events or particular characteristics. The fact is that for murder a person could be sentenced for 11-18 years. )pls correct me if I’m wrong.) but fore most this song and music video was pretty deep with the theming. And the music story has a backstory to go along with it which makes me want to find out more about this story.
0:29 if you pause and read the sign and notice the blue flowers, then at the end, where you can see other cell's as well... Do you notice something? (The black cat) (same goes for the pink flowers in the swamp and the crocodile with the pink flower. but I already saw a comment about that one.)
bro, kekeflipnote's artstyle is recognisable every where! i seriously have a certain affection for this guy, considering we both have french genes and like art 😭
I know this song is almost two years old by now but I just found it and I think that is reason enough to comment now. I don't make comments often, but I sat for a while looking at the metaphorical ideas in this video and felt a small pride from questioning the song for a while and thinking of my own meaning for it, just as others have. WARNING: Long text below My point starts with the cats, the two sitting on the bench near the beginning of the song at 0:30. Its plainly obvious that the black cat from the sign at that house is the one we see at the end in the jail cell with the blue flower. We can see the blue flowers piled up in front of the cats house, but the most important part to notice is how the cats are happy, even with the father cat gone. I'm certainly not saying that just because the father cat is gone that the cats cannot be happy but to see this in a metaphorical light, I reason that they are happy because the father is gone. Story-wise the father cat could have been abusive and the sign is there to hide their pain by faking a happy family, but on the counter to that why would they keep the sign up? Well because we are seeing this for the first time (or the 100th if you keep re-watching it over and over) and we don't know the information so it has to stay up for us to get the story. You can argue for both sides but that's mostly story stuff rather then metaphorical. I also need to mention the flowers in general, the flower the bear carries is red, the only other flowers we see are blue and yellow in vastly different quantities and carried by the black cat and the alligator/crocodile(?) respectively. These flowers I believe metaphorically represent a mistake, and the quantity of the flowers subsequently represents the impact of the mistake or the size of the mistake morally, as such we can see that the cat has done the least while the crocodile/alligator has the most, but the bear is in-between both. OK now for a bit of psychological ideas. Because the flowers represent a mistake, or more importantly a mistake that none of them can let go of as seen through-out almost all of the animation, this represents someone questioning their mistake while looking at other similar mistakes people have made, and how even the people who have done less, or more then himself have been shunned because of these mistakes. The bear also notices the people, the frogs and cats, are much more happy which I believe is because their individual flower holder is sentenced away, representing how a person might feel with a mistake and thinking it would be better if they just left everyone instead of trying to fix things or even try and make up for the previous mistake. The grand moral of this is how when we make a mistake we hold it with us while we are told bad things and possibly believe these bad things about ourselves, and even as we try to fix these mistakes and keep going the world condemns us and we are put away because they are wrong and can never make up for these mistakes no matter what we do. Though that isn't true, and we can make up for almost any mistake with enough time and acceptance, the constant reconfirmation of bad things makes us believe them and let our selves become those things even if it is not true. Like a bear who killed, who was shunned, and was made to just go away from everyone else while trying to make up for his mistake. A-lot of this is represented in the song lyrics. I do not believe the bears name is epoch, the song name is epoch but the definition is an event in time marking a new section of time (or some similar definition like that). And i believe that name represents very well how one mistake can change someones life forever. Obviously all of this is just my own speculation and you can (and should) come up with your own meanings for this as it would be a mistake not to question what you know morally.
What I really love about this song is the fact that it teaches you that there are moments in life where you do something you’re not proud of. But in real life we do not get a second chance. But we can forgive ourselves and move on. This song helped me forgive myself. Edit: Some of you in the replies are asking what I did. All I did was yell at a friend I had. The reason we argued was because I confronted her on how she was behaving with a condescending attitude. She thinks she’s so self important just because popularity got to her. Before she was popular she met me. I’ve never felt so used in my whole life. Now, the thing I’m not proud of was yelling at her because my conscience told me I’m better than that. Sometimes I do miss her, but that’s life. We were friends but it wasn’t for nothing. It taught me that I have to be careful where I go making friends. Everything in my life right now is good. I’m not depressed or anything, it’s just sometimes I miss her. Also to anyone reading this, I’m sorry I wasted time for you. I’m just a guy with feelings.
Fun fact: Epoch means a period of time in history or a person's life, typically one marked by notable events or particular characteristics.
I've seen some theories saying that the bear's name is Epoch, so he could possibly represent an epoch?
OH GOD TLT FAVORITED THE COMMENT
Mimzy OMG THAT MAKES SENSR

Btw this remix is unbelievably amazing. Its so sad/emotional, and the lyrics connect with many people.
FuriousFuz I see
Also, I can back up some of this theory. As I said, The flashbacks represent him as an innocent child.
We can see that the bear is white, a symbol of pureness, in the flashbacks.

Wow...the fact that you admitted that this wasn't your original comment means you've learned the morale of the song by applying that *is* really amazing😮
what actually happned was the bear lost his hat the rabbit took his hat and lied so when he realised the rabbit took his hat he ate him but felt bad so he went into the town and gave himslef in
It's not even the story, as you say.
This is very likely based on the book 'I Want My Hat Back'
In that, a bear can't find his hat and asks around with other animals, searching for his hat.
Only difference is that the hat is red and pointy, in this it’s a black top hat.
it actually is.

@@altafybrickbester no, the story is told during the video, but not the aftermath
He murdered (presumably ate) all the frogs in that section of the swamp.

i love how this adds so much added depth to a children's book i admittedly never heard of till now. so the book ends with the rabbit who may of stolen the bears hat dissapearing without a trace, with the implication that the bear ate him. but what i love about this is that is gives a real aftermath to that decision, the rabbit is mourned, posters demanding justice, the bear spirals into guilt as he wanders about with a dead flower in his hand until he gives himself in for his crime. he doesnt forgive himself for what he did, so hes still in the same spot as he was just finally where he can attone for his crimes

I have a theory that this is about a book that I used to own called I Want My Hat Back.

Ok this is going to be a long one. This is my theory on the song and animation. Sorry in advance for how much ranting I do
My theory is similar to many other comments, I believe that each flower represents something.
Tbh I believe both that Timmy killed someone and that the father was accused, I’m just putting my ideas out here in the comments
I think that the yellow flowers from the field mean a major point in someone’s life.
The genocide of the frogs
So tl:dr
Red flower = life or innocence
Blue flower = protection or sacrifice
Yellow flower = choice/major point in someones life
Pink flower = genocide
a very good theory, i agree with you
lachlan partridge I’m shook because it’s true
But it’s just a theory A GAME/FILM THEORY

It’s sad when you observe what is happening in the song, and realize the real meaning behind the lyrics and the art. The bear will never be the same after the incident, he thinks he can “make it better than it ever was” but in reality he’s trying to get out of the deep dark hole that he has dug himself into. The family of the rabbit’s will never forgive him and everyone will treat him like a piece of trash. He decides to turn himself in knowing that he can’t escape his own guilt.

And no...hes not freddy fazbear
My take on the story is that the bear ended up killing the rabbit, most likely because of something crime related. He keeps the flower from the rabbit and becomes overwhelmed with guilt. He visits the rabbits grave and looks back on memories when he was an innocent child with potential, just like them. Realizing just how wrong this life he has chosen is, and he decides to do the right thing and turn himself in.

My theory is that this is about a book called I want my hat back, the rabbit steals his hat so he eats him, feeling guilty he goes to the police to turn himself in
Yes, this is exactly what the story is, I know because I have been researching for the past week.
That's an interesting find. The only major difference is that instead of a red pointy hat, it's a red flower. The same flower seen in the posters near the end.
Where is the part where he turns himself in in the book
Thats a real book?
GalaxyEscliping I heels there's a sequel but idk
the nostalgia hits so damn hard with this one

Where did the grammar go?
I feel so bad for the bear.
Beautiful writing.
HunterTheFirst Slayer your right I also want to add on if you hear the song lyrics: take it back from the start I have changed of hearts.
that hints that the bear wants to take it back from the start and wants to be friends with the rabbit before he kill her so he felt bad and traveled and met a yellow bird but then told what happened and the bird felt sad about what happened so when the he got to the town they were mad at the bear and so the bear looked at flashbacks at the old him fun, happy and smart and I just confirmed that those are not his victims and I saw a picture that look like his mom and when he got to the police station he turned his self in and the scars on his head meaning he might cut him
self when traveling so he went to jail but holding the flower that the rabbit had and that's the end of this sad deep song and a lesson don't kill someone and if you do make a right choice to turn yourself in :-)

I’ve heard this song for the first time when i was 11. Now i’m 18 and i understand why this video is a masterpiece
Like, how the story of the bear changes the sense of the lyrics, it’s so awesome. And how it’s told through visual AND through lyrics, while them wheren’t written for it
in summary, bear turns himself in because of the immense guilt he feels after killing someone. the black cat at the end was also seen earlier in the video on a sign and was probably arrested for abusing his family? (since the mom cat and lil jimmy are now smiling with the black cats absence and carrying a red flower). the alligator at the end wasn't seen earlier but was probably lying in the swamps where the bear passes by. one moment we see happy bouncing frogs and when the next loop starts they all disappear as the bear passes by a large lilypad with a pile of red flowers. so we can really only assume that the alligator massacred them all and left a pile of flowers in his guilt and regret. the bear recalls how innocent he used to be and already knows that he can't make up for the things he did so will do the next best thing and turn himself in as an attempt. as someone else mentioned, (i think furiousfuz but i do not remember), they all were crying in their prison cells as they have to live with the guilt and pan for a very long time. they probably can't face humanity anymore. i would reply to their comment but i'm not gonna scroll through like 400 replies so i'll just type it here instead lol. please reply if you know what the red flower represents because i'm a bit confused on that part qwq
che rry Thank you for explaining it I didn’t even know what the moral of the song was
The flower represents the bunny that he killed and how he has to carry that with him forever.
@@gorgeousfreeman1318 what about lil Jimmy having a red flower? he doesn't seem to feel guilty at all. he seems quite happy.
(I don't think it shows the rabbit since the rabbit is too slim.)
We see he's happy.
damn bro you full fledged made a game theory

i don't think it *actually* goes that deep, but i can see that.
from the evidence in the video, it appears he accidentally killed a bunny (who previously owned the flower he is carrying) and walked a great distance to turn himself in.
SnowFaceChamcham yeah it could be that too, but I don't see how you can accidentally kill someone.

Meister why fnaf content? Are you stupid? I subscribe this chanel before fnaf.
My thoughts about the story has already been mentioned, But! My meaning of the flowers is different
I think the Red Flower means either of my three: Regret (The Bear), Depression (The Bear and The Cat [further explanation ahead] ) and Murder (The dead frogs)
For the Blue: I still think it abuse because the 'dad' (black cat) is holding a blue flower at the end in his cell, and the house of the three cats had blue flowers. And the fact that I said the baby cat had a red flower which one of my meanings say it's depression. The baby cat may have been abused by the black cat which made the babay cat depressed. But part of me says it means Neglect, But I don't any support for that one
For the Yellow Flower(The Crocodile): I think it's Massacre
Because Crocodiles live in swamps and some frogs too, And the Crocodile must have been responsible for it (obviously).
Red can’t be victim beacouse epoch holds one

Notice how they look different so it’s probably picture of the bear as a cub
0:29 if you pause and read the sign and notice the blue flowers, then at the end, where you can see other cell's as well... Do you notice something?
(The black cat)
(same goes for the pink flowers in the swamp and the crocodile with the pink flower. but I already saw a comment about that one.)
For all we know, the Cat probably either left or did something bad to his family.

@@harvisbeastl3085 NOOO WHAT ABOUT TIMMY :(
@@TerriazeCAPCUTeditor nothing he's sitting with his mom at the bench near the sign
astute observation, that's actually a really neat detail!
bro, kekeflipnote's artstyle is recognisable every where! i seriously have a certain affection for this guy, considering we both have french genes and like art 😭
Ooohh😮
I love how the bear looks like he was made in flipnote studio and everything else is smooth.
Cool, thanks!
All of it was made in flipnote. It's just really zoomed out so it's hard to tell.
IjahByte Wow, that’s, really impressive!
Also Keke's flipnotes are so freaking smooth!
7 years and I still can’t stop thinking this is a game and not just a animation 😭
I know this song is almost two years old by now but I just found it and I think that is reason enough to comment now.
I don't make comments often, but I sat for a while looking at the metaphorical ideas in this video and felt a small pride from questioning the song for a while and thinking of my own meaning for it, just as others have. WARNING: Long text below
My point starts with the cats, the two sitting on the bench near the beginning of the song at 0:30.
Yes i read all of this
That’s so smart! Also I read the whole thing! Also ignore my bad spelling!

Wow! I really love it when people explain the definition of songs uwu. You're clever :00
has the lyrics in the video already
*has English captions anyways*
Glitch Droid but why tho?

Yeah it does have the English caption -.-
I saw the captions too
Don't folks get rewarded for making captions regardless? I don't know how the system works.
You're getting more active lately, nice 😄

I feel like the old tombstone is back making stuff that is non fnaf and undertale related.
when did he make an undertale one?
The pasta remix?
I dont think he focused that much on undertale
AnimatronicPony and he only made a song for each fnaf game.
@TheLivingTombstone thank you for this remix. I swear your videos hit harder on a different level.

True but you need to BELIEVE that this song will never never die
Yeah thi
