This has become one of my favorite ways to catch them... I've caught fish from inches of water swimming the jig fast up high to around 20 ft slow rolling it kind of like a swimbait and even hopping it off the bottom like a hair jig. I've went as far as buying 2 rods and reels that all I use them for is swimming a jig with either braid or fluorocarbon. Killer technique and bait!!!

This video came at the perfect time. Honestly, I've never fished a swim jig, but I have a kayak tournament coming up on Beaver Lake this weekend, and a swimming a jig has been the thing stuck in my head to try. I'm feeling good about it.

Hey Jason, love your content on and off the trail! I have watched almost all your swim jig videos to see how you do things. I grew up on the Arkansas River and so swimjigs came early on in my life. I noticed in most your videos, you never seem to use the 7'2 mh swim jig rod, but usually the Heavy action 7'3 7'4 rods, why is that?

No real specific reason. The 7’4 rod just feels better to me and gives me a little more backbone especially fishing in grass
