I recently purchased this tripod. My last tripod was a Gitzo (not sure of model, but it had the horizontal arm like the VEO3t), it was expensive, heavier and not as well executed as this Vanguard. I’m really impressed with this tripod. The rotating center column is very well designed and engineered. The whole thing is solid too. It’s not light enough for long hikes and vacations - but it is portable and packable for short hikes and perfect for macro work. Superb concept. Thoroughly recommended.

Great video! I've been debating between the 3+ and 3T+, it's great to see a direct comparison of both. I think the 3T+ now ships with the same ball head as the 3+ (with the 360 degree pan below the Arca Swiss plate). The added height and stability of the 3+ has tipped the scale in its favour for me, since I do a lot of overhead shots. Do you think the carbon fibre version is more stable than the aluminum one? Weight difference isn't a concern for me, but stability is.

They just released a 30mm version of the 3+, so the legs are thicker, ball head is bigger and has a load capacity of 25kg rather than 15kg. I'll be posting a short showing me using it which I shared as a reel the other day. If you're looking for their best stable tripod the new 3+ 303CBS is what I'd recommend to you now

It's a shame that they changed the feet from the alta which had the spike built in. Now you have to have the spikes separately really annoying to do when out and about.
I've got the 3+ and enjoy it but some things I just wish they kept like the feet.
Also the feet being M8 thread size is annoying as I like to add the multi angle feet which are 3/8 the standard for 90% of the tripods

Which fluid head would you recommend for this tripod?

I’d like the tripod if they gave me one for free as well. I do appreciate your upfront honesty

I did state I'm an ambassador for the company, if you're not getting gear for free then you're not really an ambassador a company takes seriously. But I do alot of work building promotional photos for them that you don't see in the background, so the time spent at that is definitely worth more than these tripods combined. That's my full honesty there, gear free is good but does it equate to your day rate if you're spending 2 days filming a review video and 1.5 days shooting promo photos? I love their gear, using them since 2016, ambassador since 2018

Mark, I poorly worded my post and I apologize. I’m retired and would love one of the big name tripods that will manage my Sony 200-600 lens. But I need to shop around. I have a pair of Vanguard binos and they are wonderful for the price, which is why I’m checking out Vanguard Tripods.
I shoot a Sony aspc camera with the aforementioned lens for wildlife. Can you recommend a tripod fromVanguard?
