- / @nickfoleyuk So!
I was sent a video from a friend of the wonderfully talented Don Airey playing a solo and I thought it might be a nice thing to watch it together, what do you think?
It was originally recorded by @tcelectronic as a showcase I think for three of their effect pedals from the Nova range (the reverb, delay and modulation devices) and I will speak a little about those in the video too. I am not affiliated to them in any way but I do like their style and own a copy of those boxes myself.
I read online that Don is not feeling 100% at the moment and so I thought it was a nice time, whilst he is sitting out a couple of purple gigs, that we celebrate his talent in a kind of get well soon video card :-)
There was a classical piece or two that he was playing, I was trying to identify it. It's Mozart, Rondo allla Turca of course !
If you are interested in joining me at the Cozy Powell bash see here: therobin.co.uk/js_events/cozy...
Original Recording of Don without me talking over it: • Don Airey - Solo
I do not claim any ownership of copyright of the original footage I am simple reacting to it. - เพลง
Saw Don Airey live with Deep Purple.
Loved his work with Ozzy... Sabbath (Never Say Die)... Gary Moore... Rainbow!
He's amazing.
14:48 part of that layer sounds like a Roland Fantom XR patch called Control Room. He used that on the intro to ‘Money Talks’ on Rapture from the Deep. On the album intro you can hear a robot voice say “control”. Here it sounds like all the other layers of that sound without the voice. That’s got to be worth some nerd points!
Brilliant!
It's recorded in Denmark. Around the 14 minute mark he is playing the danish national anthem..
Thanks
Hey! Mr. Crowley - Ozzy Osbourne at 5:15
Like your video's Nick great gear and sound you have🙏👌👊
Thank you very much !
That was Mozart - Rondo Alla Turka.
If you want to hear nice Hammond stuff from him, check his solo albums, or live Deep Purple stuffs, like Lazy intro. He play it like a monster, specially on the video called Deep Purple live at NEC 2002. This year i saw purple 2 times live, Don was amazing.
Thanks mate!
Hope they play wooly bully watch it now 😮
Nick, thanks for sharing this and for the commentary. Don has become my favorite Hammond player, next to you, of course! I would love to see a keyboard lesson on Purple's "One Night In Vegas" from the inFinite album (esp. the piano bit near the end)! Would you consider doing that one, mate?
I’ll consider anything :-)
GATES OF BABYLON !!
Thank you!
