Might Just Take Your Life is brilliant too. You really get a good sense of the controlled power of the band when they all come in after Jon’s intro.

That's a good point. That particular video has proved problematic for me but I might try and find another version to discuss

Being in total awe of the mastery and skill involved and trying to take it all in and drooling and just staring in amazement and trying to get a glimpse of the organ and this and that always makes me forget to simply enjoy the music.
    No mention of hair❗

I remember watching this as a kid in my bedroom on tv. Didn’t know who any of the bands were. Years later quite by chance I bought my first album and I had no idea who the band was or what kind of music they played but I liked the cover art… it was Burn by Deep Purple. Thus began a lifelong love affair with all things Deep Purple and Ritchie Blackmore

Hi, Nick! Great video and reaction, California Jam was one of the best live renditions of "Burn" and Jon is really rockin' , no pun intended.

I think in terms of tone control Glenn Hughes' pipes are even better now - probably due to his much healthier life style.

Yup. I’m saw him on tour this year. Quite amazing actually.

Yes, his healthy life style helped him doing nearly no life shows between 1976 and 1993 to save his voice ;-)

one thing i find odd is since i was 12 in 1973, and kind of stayed away from classic/hard rock most of my life, i don't always recognize a famous video like this, but I'm 99%sure i watched it in the 50 years, then i recognize elements, like the singer swinging his mike stand or Jon rocking his Hammond and scaring everybody :) my 7 or 8 year older brothers were into prog rock but they had 1 or 2 Deep Purple albums and Black Sabbath which had covers that were too scary so i didn't play them, except the one with the luminous sword-wielding, maybe it's more prog-rocky than the one with witches in black and abandoned stone houses. I was probably not alone in dismissing or picking albums based on the artwork

but come to think of it since Prog Rock played on the same radio stations as Classic/Hard Rock, saying i 'stayed away from Hard Rock' was not really possible, i guess i had to endure hard rock poor me. You know some people loved and love disco, which means there's reaction videos for every Disco Hit, they had whole tv shows for Disco, every week, so there's videos and they're on TH-cam and people who loved/love disco are pushing them on reactors, and some reactors must also love the hits, i dont think i saw that part of TH-cam but if i type the name Donna Summer who everybody love even the songs she would prefer not having sung, i will enter that realm. Wish me luck

I love the low profile keyboard look for John!!
Why doesn't someone make a spring reverb in a KEYBOARD?!
ARP 2600 had one in it in 1972!!

Good question, it wouldn't be difficult technically. Expensive perhaps and may not be maintenance-free etc....
