- Throttle slack adjustment... an overlooked maintenance item.
In this video I go over the ease of such adjustment.
*Honda spec is 2-6 mm slack.

Dude, every time I need to do something on my rebel, you already got an easy explanation for it ready to go. Appreciate you bro
Appreciate the kind words man.
Good video. When I bought my Rebel 500, the throttle play was over 12mm. I had to adjust the cable at the other end. Glad you showed that.
Not usually something you need to adjust. Great feedback. Thanks for the comment.
Great to see more by way of maintenance tasks. Very useful, thanks.
Thanks. Yes maintenance and installs are only a part of this channel. When I started this I didn’t want to limit it to just maintenance.
I appreciate you time. Thank you for your support.
Thanks. I was just wondering how to do this. My new 500 just hit 600 miles and it's time for a checkup.
Nice!!! I have many videos to aid in this. Hope they will help you. Thanks!
Ty very much have 87 and got some issue going I've been adjusting the throttle sensor on carb choke isn't working. Again ty will try to see if this works
Slight! Thanks so much for some great instructional videos. Much appreciated. If possible, I'd like to see your installation of engine crash bars on a Honda Rebel 500.
I appreciate that Bob. If I have a chance to do a crash guard install, absolutely!
Hello there. Tks for another great video on rebel 500. I think you could extend a little bit the video and do the cluch adjuntment too. Maybe and idea to a next short video.
That’s a great suggestion.
I’ve shown this in the lever upgrade. Yet I could absolutely make a specific video on this.
Thanks
@@SLIGHT_ yeah i know. I'm thinking more like: if i don't want to change the levers, i may not notice in that specific video but cluch adjustment...will alway be notice (hope i was clear and you know what i wanted to say..may by from my bad inglish, i'm Portuguese hehe)
@@rubenvasconcelos4197 clutch cable adjustment. Yes that’s a great suggestion.
Thanks again
Do you have links to you tank pads and tank center cover ? thanks Kit Great easy way to adj. the slack thanks
Carbon fiber center cover is found in the description of this video

Also the tank pads I am using for mine is OEM Honda… yet the kit I’ve used for others is found in this description

I put new cables on my throttle and its not bouncing back do I need to oil my cables?think its the load of grease I put under the throttle handle instead of oil.
No you really shouldn’t. sounds like the return cable is loose. Adjustments are to be done at the bottom first. Fine tuned at the top.
Sorry off subject but did you have to extend you cables for the bars?
I did not have to extend the throttle cables or harness. I did add a brake line extender though.
Not sure if you have a video on this but I’m having an issue with my 23 Rebel 500. I am able to switch to all gears but the bike is not accelerating when I pull the throttle. I hear it revving high but no power. The clutch doesn’t feel loose. Please let me know what you think. Thank you so much for all your videos!
Could you make a video and send it to my email?
Can you feel it come out of the friction zone? Sounds like a clutch issue… or improper adjustment. Yet with this description it’s very difficult to isolate the concern without looking at it.
@@SLIGHT_ Hi, I just emailed you. Thank you!
@@fatimaais7494 perfect, I will check it when I get home.
