Great video :). Your son did you proud! I'm looking at doing this event next year but no ida how to approach it....will watch your other videos for tips and training. Massive well done on such a fast time over such a long distance...very inspirational :)
I still have some extra video to edit on preparing for this events and my thoughts or what I would do differently. Probably get those done over Christmas so keep a look out for them.
Great ride and video! I saw your bike prep video which convinced me to get a hydration pack. Worked out really well. I did the ride the year before as well and ran short of water so this was a great improvement. Thanks
We saw you make a wrong turn and then realised you have caught on to us. Was totally happy for you to just sit on, I was letting Ben do all the pulling then anyhow. Hope you enjoyed the ride, big effort for someone new to cycling.
@@TheCoeliacCyclist Yup - my Garmin was playing up all day ! I have only been cycling for a year - the pace was v good....too much for me in the end though.
@@blaze1148 the pace got worse as I decided I wanted to make 7p,m so Ben pushed it up to 23mph which after 195 miles was a bit tough but made it by 7pm.
@@TheCoeliacCyclist Nice ! - 7pm is a great time - that speed was too hot for me....I got in about 7.25pm which i'm pleased with since I set a target time of 8.30pm. Next year Ben needs to do the whole 205 with you....I will do it again next year to try to beat the time this year 😉
Thanks Stuart, having a support crew made it a lot easier. Even more helpful when Ben rode the last 50 miles with me. Definitely recommend you give it ago it was a great experience. Also after doing it I feel like nothing is beyond me now.
You can do it! Anyone can complete this with the right training and attitude. I was pretty apprehensive on the day about how I would do and how it would go. I didn't need to worry.
Thanks Stuart, definitely a tough wind and then the next day it was only 5mph, typical! Still it was the same for everyone and no two years will ever be the same.
Thank Michael, well done on completing the North. I would like to give that one ago I think. Not sure about next year as also have other rides I want to do and it take a lot of commitment in training and not sure if my support crew are ready to do another one. Now going out for my first ride since CTS as I'm now ready to sit on the saddle again.
I did this cts, my friend got hit by a van in rochester and we lost 2 hours there(he ended up in hospital). My other friend also had agg with a tubeless tire. So we lost around 4 hrs total kn the ride. Ride time was 12hrs total was 16😂😂.. My friends ok, hopefully home from.hospital tomorrow 🤞🤞
So glad to hear your friend is ok, I did see a post on the Facebook page about that. It is easy to loose time during the event if you have any issues. Thankfully not too many as serious as your friends. I think my ride time would have been quicker if I had taken longer to do the event. I would have got more rest and spent more time in groups. My aim was to see how early I could finish so I'm happy with that.
How fucking cool is this kid? What a positive, supportive and upbeat young man. He’s a credit to you.
Thanks, he's pretty special.

@ those would be really useful so look forward to seeing those when they are done. Well done again :)
Great achievement and great video. 👍👍 Going to watch your other videos especially the training you did as I’m down to do this next year 😱
I have another couple I will be putting up this month about nutrition and training for the event. You will enjoy the event I'm sure.

Glad that helped, I definitely couldn't have done without mine for the first half. Hope you enjoyed your ride.
Really enjoyed watching that. Well done and great family support
Glad you enjoyed it
Chapeau from a fellow coeliac cyclist. Keep the faith 😄
Thanks Andrew
I followed you for a bit after Devizes....sorry I wasn't fast enough to pull you guys....I was still tired from catching you up ! [Yeovil Boy]😉

Fantastic effort, been following CTS for a few years but never taken the plunge. Family support was great for you 👏🏻

Well done mate, great effort to finish at 7. Think I was about 7.15. Cheers for the shout out! 😉👍 7:49 8:53
Thanks Rod, good to ride with you for a bit, that headwind was tough after the half way stop.
Wow great ride and well done
Keep thinking if this would be something I'd be able to do

Chasing the time while being Chased by sun 😂
If only there wasn't a headwind all day.
I've only just found your channel, great stuff! Out of interest are you from Suffolk? Your accent reminds me of Suffolk
