Well done! I did it in 1989 as part of a small group to raise money for the St David’s Foundation. We had a support car and stayed in B&B. Despite it being many years ago, I still look back on it as being one of the best things I have ever done. I remember reaching Wem near Shrewsbury and seeing a weather chart with a single large arrow indicating a 25mph wind against, which persisted until Dunfermline. I broke a gear cable at Hawick, which was repaired free of charge at a bike shop in Galashiels. A wonderful experience! I should love to do it again the other way. I carried only a spare inner tube and a few hours worth of food. All credit to you both, as you did it the proper way with panniers and a tent. Great fun!
Well done lads. I did LEJOG last year but it took me 23 days. I am 62 though so hopefully that gives me some latitude. It was an amazing ride, one that I had been wanting to do forever, and one I will never forget. Unless you have done this ride I don't think you can understand how special it is.
I live right next to that view point in the Highlands, maybe 4km away, and going up that climb is on my usual rides. I love seeing other cyclists and tourists a the viewpoint because seeing it every day it's easy for it to become "normal" and to not take in how amazing it is. On a clear day you can see the mountains on the west coast and also the most northern mountain in the UK. Brilliant effort!! Especially in the rain
Brilliant stuff guys, I completed LEJOG last month with a huge giraffe on my bike for charity. Knowing the roads you took really made me admire how fast you were moving! It took me a week longer than you! A huge congrats, a tremendous achievement.
Well done lads. You'll never forget that was first time riding LEJOG. I first (and last) rode it in 2020 and although it didn't rain this much it presented it's own challenges... like lots of pubs and camp sites still shut. Alas it was awesome - thanks for filming - great to see some of those views once more.
Get yourself an electric bike - it'll make cycling fun for you again, and might even give you the motivation and confidence to do a journey like LEJOG!
@@iamjoestafford Thanks, I have one and it is a lot of fun, but I love my traditional bike more. I may look at increasing my fitness and aim at doing something like this in a year or two.
Well done, did it in 2018 (14 days) carried on to the Orkneys. 👍 🚲 No punctures in 27,000 miles. (use hermetic tubes, tyre liner strips, high tyre pressure and tensioned wheels with butted spokes.) Bicycles can be very reliable even over long distances.
As someone who has previously done 320km+ in a day, I wonder, how did you avoid severe pain in between your...legs? That whole area in contact with the seat... To me, 140km~ish goes fine but sometimes the next day I feel some pain, one day for recovery is ideal before continuing, but you just did that, went to sleep, did it again... It was just hammer on, no time for any pain to recover, so I was just wondering. Are the seats just too good? Or the clothing? Or maybe just a good bike fit...
Saw some familiar looking roads there from when I cycled from Switzerland to John O Groats last summer. It looked like you had a lot of fun! And well done fro cracking 100+km on multiple days!
Absolutely amazing, I never heard you guys moan about the ‘midges’ in Scotland once. Seriously, despite a repeated puncture and broken spokes, you guys slaughtered it. Look forward to more adventures from you. Well done. Oh, and I forgot the collapsing tent!
I've cycled some of this distance myself, but in the other direction. With my family we've done John O'Groats to Scarborough along the north sea cycle route. That's mostly along the coast, but up in northern Scotland you're somewhat limited on road choice so we did the same trip from Lairg to Altnaharra (but I went to Tongue). Comming over the bridge in to Inverness and seeing all the oil rigs, derricks and supply ships anchored in the Moray Firth is a sight
Thanks so much for posting this video. I finished LEJOG September 19 this year. What a great experience it was. It was fun to watch your version and relive a lot of the same places. Do keep up the great video work.
Well done lads. Great effort. Brought back some wonderful memories of our charity JOGLE in 2019. Going up to JoG from Inverness via Altnaharra and Bettyhil is most definitely the best way to go!
I did it in the other direction back in 2015 - I remember these vicious Cornish hills. I could make you envious by relating that my puncture count on the entire journey was 0!
Much enjoyed your video lads. I and work mate . Did the same ride years ago now. We did it from Scotland to lands end. In 9 days. Blood hard work. Well done to you both. Ps no punches too.
This is a really entertaining and inspirational video, I need to do something like this in 2024. Save up by work holidays for it. I have the money for all the gear because I never spend anything… I love this honestly
I did Lejog last year on a really daft route on mountain bikes, but it’s brilliant to see some of the similarities, especially boming it along on the last leg, desperate to see John o’groats 😂. Brilliant stuff 👍
that'd take a literal month. Not only would they be going on dangerous terrain, rivers, mountains etc, think of the distance. Is easy to bike long distances. Walking is much much harder. And getting food/supplies/camping is much harder.
You'd be at sea for pretty much all the first 500km heading north (about 10km each in Cornwall and south Wales, then about 30km on the Isle of Man, the other 450km at sea). Then most of the last 100km is at sea too. That's over half the total distance.
@@welshwoody217it would be literally impossible, the cliffs on the north east coast towards wick are brutal, the waves bashing against the cliffs aren’t ideal either
Nice work boys. Would've been nice to see a bit more tbh, maybe in a longer video or a second part. Still, very nice to see some of the places I visited when I was younger.
GoPro Hero 10 fixed to the bars. Vango tent borrowed from my Uncle but it was on it's last legs. My brother had a Specialized Allezand I was using a Giant Content SL1 (avoid the PR2 wheels)

It must be an amazing story to tell at the pub too I'll bet! Kudos!
I feel that decision to do 160km on the last day. That sudden burst of motivation is just irresistible

I love how the banter and mood climaxes in this episode. Keep going lads
Quality content mate, with these ideas you should have a play button in no time ;) loving it, keep it up ❤
Well done, you two are so lucky to have each other to do these epic things with, enjoy every minute
Great stuff lads, I wish I had done this years ago as I am 53 now and just cycling to shop nearly kills me!

Great video guys and an epic journey! Love the part at 8:59 where you gave a commentary wearing a sock on your hand. Excellent.
Aha I forgot my gloves, but the socks worked pretty well

I got a good bit of saddle-sore over the first few days but eventually it just goes away. Just got to ignore the pain for a bit

Nicely done what an achievement well done. I am happy you put in a snip of my home town Kelty.
Wow. The distance itself is mightily impressive but to do it in two weeks is even more impressive. Well done lads.
Did this a couple of years ago and remember so much of the scenery you showed thanks!
That's some awesome scenery! Also great accomplishment, just doing 100km in a single day would put me out for a week
Well done guys. You brought back good memories of 2003 when I rode it to raise funds for our new school. Epic adventure.

12 minute video for such a massive trip? Feel you could have made it at least an hour. Also what did you do once u got to JOG?
The fact that you did this in 12 minutes and 41 seconds is mind-blowing 😮

great adventure for you two and a great video, but next adventure would be nice for more vloging of the camps sites and land marks along the way :)

Chapeau I rode it 2017 and carried on and rode through Orkney and the Shetlands to the very end of the UK at Unst.
Those Giant PR2 wheels are notorious for breaking spokes. I broke 2 or 3 on mine and eventually decided to just change the wheels
Nice work boys. Would've been nice to see a bit more tbh, maybe in a longer video or a second part. Still, very nice to see some of the places I visited when I was younger.
Great to see you back doing adventures! Awesome video.
Great video!
Any chance of a quick video about the bikes you both used, what you were wearing and what kit you took with you?
Very well done, amazing achievement, 160k in the last day, incredible
Reit effort!! Cracking stuff lads!!
That was brilliant. good narration too!!! did you prep for that?
Well done guys. Epic ride, great video !
I need this in long form content with at least 2.5 hours of content
You should realise a longer version of this boys , get in
Love your guys channel can't wait to see more adventures
I've just got an exercise bike and thought 25k a day was hard work, it's taken me 40days to do 1000k alone 😂 Very impressive!
That’s still impressive! Keep it up 😊
Good job Guys, that is an amazing achievement.
you know these guys are nuts when they do LEJOG and only make a 12 minute video out of it
Great achievement guys well done
Well done lads bloody good effort that. 👏
Good effort mate. Nice surname btw 😁
Well done lads a very good effort indeed shame about all the punctures and not forgetting the endless rain,
Nice video guys! Congrats!
absolutely brilliant effort.
Congratulations guys! That trip is too far for most people by car let alone by bicycle xD Me personally I enjoy this kind of stuff.
Very well done
brilliant adventure, great effort lads
Well done lads.
Those hills coming out of Betty Hill caught me out a bit .
Something I have always wanted to do
What a great achievement lads.
Loving the pronunciation of Leominster boys!
Looking forward to more videos!

It doesn't look that big?
i'm surprised you didnt get into altercations with bad drivers!
You don't seem be carrying much, what did you do for food?
Great adventure and great video
Wow, that indeed was a big adventure! ggwp!
Awesome! What bikes did you use?
I thought you were Twins! Great vid btw. Well done.
Well done. Great achievement.
Absolutely mental lads
Great video but the way you pronounced Moffat cracked me up 😂
Fantastic ride and video if you do something like that again use shwalbe marathon plus tyres ive done end to end 4 times no punctures
Good effort lads!
I’m guessing at least 30% of this journey was into a head wind 😠
Big respect to u guys ✌️
LE is closer to Portugal than JOG, JOG closer to Sweden than LE. Well done.
Great experience
What time did you take this trip?
Well done lads that was amazing
Look up the record for running LEJOG, nine days I think? After the straight line wales speed run I won't be happy until you attempt this!
Amazing lads
good effort lads!
Congrats 👏 amazing riding
Dinmore hill (before Leominster... "Lemster") is pretty sketchy to cycle down.
6:56 i was born in Carlisle but i was made in the royal navy
What camera, tent and bike was used?

I bet no one’s ever done that before. Well this week anyway.
What month did you do this? Seeing a lot of wet weather on your ride.
Well done...thanks for the video!
What time of year did you do that ride?
It was in August last Summer, we had almost perfect weather but for a couple of days
Amazing achievement
Well done, gents.
Great video!
