IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. They actually nerfed the Raw damage by a bit and its Elemental Value by 100+ less than what was originally in the data upon release. RIP. 2. The Teostra LBG stats were nerfed even harder. In addition, the ammo looks like it was buffed. But that doesnt make for its terrible stats. Us LBG mains can cope all we want, but this just means a better Fire LBG is coming in the future. 3. The names for the weapons aren't right but thats because their using the upgraded form names of all the weapons for Monster Hunter Rise. The names I used are their base forme in the main series before they get upgraded and get a name change. Now I know haha. Just to clear any confusion.
Thankfully, the non-LBG Teostra weapons still seem to outperform their other raw competitors thanks to the way Blast works. Against every large monster _except_ Teostra, a successful Blast proc deals ~5% of the monster's maximum HP in damage. Teostra takes 3% of his max HP in damage from a successful Blast proc. And 5% is quite a lot, especially at higher levels. I myself have slain a 7* Great Jagras and Radobaan with a 6.3 Teostra LS quite easily.
I'm a little bit disappointed. Even if Niantic wasn't going to give dual blades a blast set, they could at least give us another fire dual blade. There is only one fire dual blade, and that is anjanath.
The Teostra dual blades was dual element. It would offset and make the Kushala DBs out of meta after it just came out. Dual blades also hits too fast so they need to figure out a balance before they can release status DBs.

However, what surprised me was that it is *worse* than the Anjanath one?! Embarrassing…😅 And as for the rest of the weapons…meh. I’ve already got enough weapons I’m working on, nothing here screams for me to drop everything and work on them instead!😛
I'm starting to see a pattern.....haha. Bow gets a superweapon each time we get a new Elder Dragon. I'm kinda disappointed that they don't seem to be trying to make the other weapons stand out. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just a side effect of the way the game and its mechanics are but it definitely seems like the bow gets preferential treatment. I don't think I'll be going super hard on this event I think unless the armor really is THAT good. Happy for all you bow mains though! You're lucky! Maybe the next event will be the one for me!
Thats to be expected haha. Bow is the only weapon in the game where you can easily give it a super weapon thanks to its damage and charge level mechanic. For the others, you would need to give them some unique skill like the MrBeast SnS. I'm for collab monsters being that pathway to super weapons if it means we can get something really good for them.
No Gunlance for blast darn was hoping gunlance would be my blast weapon. I also was holding off on upgrading my Rath LBG but guess I can keep upgrading it after all thanks for that clarification! =)
12:00 The Blast bow having Rapid 4 works since it helps you focus on one body part to proc blast way faster in that area and break it easier just like in World and Rise. Also, the Blast damage is fixed depending on the grade of the monster. At the Grade 1 monster, it might do 100 blast damage per proc (example); at Grade 5 monster, it might do 200 blast damage per proc (example).
Doesn’t matter. If it works like the other status elements and you only proc it 3-4 times in battle. It NEEDS to take a huge chunk per infliction or it won’t make up for the low base damage in comparison to the other super weapons. Rapid is still the weakest shot type and the base damage is too low for it to really make an impact. People are so desperate for a “new thing” to come along everytime doesn’t matter how much evidence is in front of them. Teostra weapons aren’t worth long term investment no matter how you spin it to convince yourself it’s good 😂
@KINGOFCHARMANDERS well hopefully from here to a month, we can see some good changes towards this weapon as to be a better one. Not saying buff in the weapon, but as in personally testing it for days with different builds to see a different to better result in gameplay and statistics. 😁

What I didn't understand is why you just focused on lvl 3 and 4 charged attack, if lvl 1 and 2 can stack more elemental status in less time? And considering have at least 2 Teostra armor pieces on the set, what will make status stack easier, you don’t think this will turn the bow in a machine of explosions?
I'm tempted to make the Greatsword only because it's so pretty, and I just have no Greatsword right now. The longsword also looks nice, but I have a fire and an ice longsword already. What to do what to do...

Tbh, I feel somewhat disappoint about the Teostra weapons except its bow. I would hope Teostra weapon’s raw attack be 3 or 4 thousand due to Teostra being elder dragon. Its blast status elements is fine since the Teostra weapon’s blast weapon is double value and higher than pink rathian weapon’s poison status element. Speaking about the Teostra weapon’s skillsets, heroic 2 is somewhat useful for either lance or gunlance. However, I would be surprise if Niantic should replace it as three or four driftsmelt slot. Having driftsmelt slot in weapon, especially Teostra weapons, could be game changer in mhnow.
Well, I guess I’m making the hammer, lol. Got a tail and horn drop on my very first hunt. He went down pretty easy, almost too easy. I didn’t take any damage during the hunt, and we had about 30 seconds left. Broke the head fairly early in the hunt.
Yeah, second hunt, second horn and tail, lol. I wasn’t going to make the hammer but it’s like the game is taunting me. Made a few mistakes and took some hits this time, but still a much easier clear than Kushala. Used my 10-5 Mizutsune hammer both times, may try my 10-5 Kushala next hunt.

The LBG looks like it should fire 4 shots at once. This would be an extra effort to make in the game, and wouldn't have been necessary with better base stats, but otherwise there'd be no way devs would've thought this was an appropriate elder dragon weapon to put in the game
LBG never did that in main series lol. Teostra works for what its worth and just introduces blast to the game. Other than that, it doesn't do much at all.

Sadly it’s just the way they programmed it. Looks like they can’t give one weapon out of a set different stats unless they separate it from the set entirely. If it’s more trouble than it’s worth I get it. Even if they buffed the ammo for the weapon it’s still bad. The ammo set is terrible and the stats don’t make it up for it. RIP.
More stuff to clog my inventory because I don’t want to delete *rare* elder dragon mats but I don’t particularly care for any the weapons :( Wish the battlepass would give us +250 inventory a season…. Too many monsters being added for that +250 they gave us to be worth anything.

I was very disappointed to see that the Teo DB was skipped. I loved using it in the console MH games.

I wouldn’t make a weapon for the sake of having a weapon type. Especially an elder dragon one unless your going to go after a lot of EDIs
