2:12 "One of the most reliable cars out there, a car a that legitimately is damn near impossible to prematurely break." Takumi crying in the background*
My AE86 is sitting at 312k miles on the original engine and transmission, and still running strong. Toyota Corolla truly is the best car. “Toyota. Let’s go places” is so fitting.
Hold up, wai-wai-waaaaite a minute now. So we're going to hit up the Civic Si, but leave out the civic as a whole, and then hit up the Corolla family, but not do XRS? C'moooon!! Fix this unjustice!! U guys rock keep it up seriously
Been driving my 2010 Corolla for the past 10 years, now I want a manual Corolla hatchback. It's been such an amazing, reliable, genuinely enjoyable car to own for me that I don't see any reason to look elsewhere
Vincent Le I’ve owned a 2010 corolla since my senior year of high school in 2014. This car has been so good to me, never given me problems and maintenance has been minimal. I’m really digging the new hatchback just waiting for it to drop in price.
I drive a 2014 Corolla (E170). It has Godspeed Coilovers and I recently just put Cosmis Racing Wheels on it and I also got it wrapped. It's a slow AF but I still enjoy it and it's also a manual! Definitely plan on getting something faster in the future but I will still keep my corolla as a daily driver.
I have a 2014 Corolla S Premium. It only have 34k miles right now. It has every option available on it (Sunroof heated psuedo leather seats, navigation) and since I've had it (2017), I put on: TRD Exhaust, TRD Rear Sway Bar, TRD Strut Tie Brace, TRD Lowering Springs, TRD Air Filter and I'm sitting on Pirelli P-Zero A/S + tires. Definitely not a fast care but it's so fun to drive around tight corners, the TRD Exhaust likes to pop when I let off the gas at about 3k RPM 👌 It's a CVT, but I didn't know how to drive manual at the time, plus I got a STEAL when buying it. I don't really have anything I want to do to it at this point, I like the stock wheels that come with the 2014-2016 Corolla so. I'm very happy with it. And like I said, only 34k miles, I have a LONG time to go with it 🥰
Had a 1977 Corolla liftback with a 2tc header Weber carb ran so good sold it found a 1980 coupe with 4 head lights best looking Corolla ever With a 3tc
I'm a little disappointed you didn't spend more time on the AE101. The base model trim weighs 200lbs less than a Miata of the same year. Combine that with a wide range of possible engine swaps (4A, 4A 20v, 3S, 3S BEAMS, etc.) and a surprisingly decent amount of aftermarket support when it comes to chassis and suspension, you have yourself a very cheap platform with a decent amount of potential.
Something you don't see very often is an 1988 AE95 Awd Corolla Sedan, lots of fun spacious, really does go by the saying you treat it well it treats you well and has heaps of room for creativity to be added to it once I can get back to work
I've owned my AE86 for almost 5years now I love it, Never let me down :) Drift everyday, Redline everyday, never breaks. TOYOTA FOR LIFE #Toyota #4life I have some dumb videos about my 86 if you wanna see my AE86 Shenanigans lol
I don't have a Corolla , but I do have a 97' Tercel with 74k on her. And one thing I cant wait for is to put some springs on her with some wheels and hopefully get featured on the fitment gallery!
I'm a little late, I get it, but what do you mean you wish Toyota was still enthusiast minded? They had the rear wheel drive Corolla's, then the Celica, then the Supra and MR2, then a bit later the AWD hatch Matrix XRS, then after that (my early driving years) the FRS and the supercharged tC, and now the 86 and the Supra, and soon the AWD 1.5 liter turbo 3 cylinder 260hp Corolla hatch. Toyota has literally always had cool cars from every gen.
"A car that will make your parents proud" Yeah my parents will be proud, not because it is reliable because I always have the one that is broken but because I am happy building it.
The supra is an amazing platform for modding, from drag to drift to touring car racing. The Celica is one of the most successful rally cars of all time. The MR2 is Japan’s first mid-engine car and the styling of a Ferrari for a fraction of the cost. The Corolla is a car.
The supra is quite heavy so no its not that amazing for racing...the only amazing thing about it is the engine which can be found in other models too... and the Corolla can be fun around corners cause of its light weight and nimbleness but you would not know cause you never owned one :)
Thank you for the daily videos! I’m locked down and tryna stay occupied! I have a 2014 Forester XT. My next mod is BC coilovers, Cusco sway bars and strut tower braces. Do you guys do a Forester video?
Honestly growing up with Initial D, im more than happy knowing it is finally getting huge recognition to the point where even non-car people know of it
Growing up, we had a *1976* 2D Corolla hatch as the family car. It was old, worn out, and quite a little beast (that barely made it up hills at that point...) It got us home on I95 through a snowstorm - 14 hours. When my parents sold it, yeeesss, *sold it*, it had over 500k miles. Wish I could get another one, and shoehorn a F20C into it...I like Hondas. 😁 If I could get an AE86, hell yeah! My '89 accord coupe (RIP) had similar lines, and I really liked that body style. Maybe one day...
Owner of a E12 Corolla T sport here. Two previous older owners so it is pretty much immaculate. I love it, however it would be even nicer if it was RWD or AWD. I feel for you Americans that didn't get it as a hatch, it really is a nice daily.
