Even if it never happens, one day I would love to see a video of yours about Wu Zetian, the only woman in Chinese history to be considered "Emperor" in this style, even if it was just a single video. Sigh.
I remember the first time I herd of her was with the old doctor who episode massacre of the innocent which she is depicted like a villain .Is interesting to have another look on her life and what she went through.
Can I just say, I really like the titles for each Queens? Like Queen of Venon, , Elizabeth of York was Queen of Hearts, etc. I wonder which Queen, would be Queen of Beauty, or Queen of Tragedy, or Queen of Queens. Just brainstorming XD
Amazing video once again @AliceofSherwood, personally Queen Catherine de' Medici was such an badass Queen, and despite the inaccuracy within the show of Reign. Megan Follows as Queen Catherine de' Medici is my favourite portrayal, as she and Mary Queen of Scots bonded together. PS I have the same name as the actress who plays Queen Catherine de' Medici from Reign and I've enjoyed the show especially Alice. PS I can't wait to see the rest of the Reign reviews Alice, and the one about Queen Elizabeth of Woodville, and I can't wait for you to talk about Rebecca's portrayal within the White Queen, (PPS Are you a huge fan of Dune, I've saw the movie and yes she was in it, she plays Lady Jessica aka Paul Atreides 's mother)
Another great video! Since the serpent queen series, I’ve been fascinated to know more about the real Catherine de Medici. Question: was Diane de Poitier really her cousin or was that a creative liberty the show took?
@@livrobinson7212 that had to have made her husband’s infidelity worse. It’s one thing for her husband to sleep around, the other woman being family? That had to have stung
She was a super interesting woman yet history portrays her as a villain. But after you are done with Cathrine de Medici’s videos and Elisabeth woodvilles videos, could you perhaps do a Margaret of Anjou video if she has enough screen interpretation
Thank you Alice for giving us another enlightening biography of one the less explored or explained historical figures that played a pivotal role in European history. You're artful narration and impeccable elocution make these historical endeavors very memorable and absorbing to those who want to learn.I knew so little about Catherine de Medici only in a brief scene in Mary Queen of Scotts(71) where she blamed Mary for her sons death and threatened to banish her from the court. I know that one should take these film historical accounts with a grain of salt until you can fact check them through research but that's the beauty of these adaptations is that it gets you intersted in history and the people involved. Now with this entry I now know so much more about her. Do you think that possibly you could sometime explore other enigmatic or controversial figures in european history like Thomas Becket, Judge Jefferys or Cardinal Richelieu? Were these people heroes, villains or both?
Very interesting video, waiting for next one :) (and such nice gift for kids day 🎉🎉🎉 ok I am older than 18, but that doesn't mean that I can't celebrate it XD)
They’re a new money family who are commoners who rises to become powerful noblemen through money aka plutocrats as opposed to the blue-blood aristocrats who descended from the royal kings.

Great idea 💯
The Memoirs of her daughter Marguerite show a devious woman, who was feared by many, including her children.
I saw the name Catherine de Medici and couldn't click fast enough!!! 😅
Thank you Alice 💙
You do this kind of analysis so well! I could watch you examine potrayals of royals from any country or era
Extra! Extra! Alice of Sherwood has uploaded!!
Another excellent video! You are really outdoing yourself! I love how you shed light on these often reviled historical figures.

Smashing video. Fabulous look. 😎
Very informative and fun watch! Thank you :)
I am so looking forward to listening to this. I love this period in history.

Queen of Beauty: Empress Elisabeth, Queen Alexandra of the United Kingdoms, Eleanor of Aquitaine
Queen of Tragedy: Empress Alexandra Feodrovna
Are you familiar with the Royal Diaries titles?
@@absolutelyalice1754Queen of Queens, Catherine The Great
@@absolutelyalice1754I think another tragic queen could be Juana of Castile, Marie Antoinette, and Queen Anne of Britain.

It is true. They were actually second cousins. Catherine’s maternal grandfather was the brother of Diane’s paternal grandmother.

History is written by the victor. There is she, Richard III, Jane Boelyn etc all versions distorted to suit their own ends.
YES. So true!
And Mary I

Loved watching
You look lovely my dear. Great video.
Wait, sorry if I`m being obtuse here, but was there Catherine de Medici in Ever After somewhere??
Don't think so cause it takes place around 1515 I wanna say, and Danielle marries Prince Henry.
Wonderful channel!
HEATHERS REFERENCE 👌

I feel like Queen Anne could probably empathise with all the child-death
In the serpent queen, there seems to be a lot of hate. Not just for Catherine but for her family. Why were the Medici family despised so much

Heavy Metal Poisoning 😅
Picking on a child just because of her last name, the nerve!
I wish these so called experts would learn how to pronounce de Medici properly
