The Make up is giving ✨Black Swan✨ and after watching the video, i really want to see "Diane" (1956). I LOVED the colorful costumes and it sounded like it had one of the most sympathetic versions of Catherine.
Go Megan!!! As a fellow Canadian, I applaud her performance with her most famous one (at least here), is as Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables in the 1980's. I've always heard that her name is pronounced Mee-gan, instead of Meg-an, at least in the old interviews I've seen. It took me a minute when I first started Reign to recognize her because of her accent since she has a Canadian accent and it threw me for a minute.
Megan Followes is a Canadian treasure. She played Anne of Green Gables as a teen to young adult and was Anne come to life. Then to become Catherine de Medici was quite a contrast. She made the show Reign!
I am *so* late - another excellent video! I always feel a bit conflicted about France in this period; I have French Huguenot ancestors (silversmiths) who legged it out of France, in the aftermath of the Massacre (I would love to know how they survived the period of the French Wars of Religion (1562-98 - the Massacre occurring in 1572, meaning they had periods of greater & lesser tolerance to deal with- before the bloodbath in Paris, & the spread of violence to several of the provinces)) - they made a good living for themselves in England in their profession, apparently. I learnt this many years after watching 'Diane' & 'La Reine Margot'...
OF course Meghan Follows wouls be first, she's the best part of reign and the reason I got interested in the real Catherine. There's one you forgot and it's the 2022 mini-series "Diane de Poitiers" . It's a weird french TV-show (I remember there was an english sub version somewhere I think) and to be honest I forget everything as sonn as I finished it. Catherine is played by Gaia Girace and she's one of the few things I liked about the show, she's so cute. There's that infamous scene in which she's wearing louboutin shoes just to make a dumb pun.
Yea Alice is back I’ve listened to the recording of the massacre and have watched the short appearance of Cathrine in Elizabeth R.the massacre one I remember is pretty typical.
Aww u didn’t like the Gunpowder series?! I really liked both parts, in different ways 😂 James and “widen the plot!” was a cheeky comedy, whereas I mostly dug the chemistry between Mary & Bothwell (love that actor despite blanking on his name). Actually there’s a bunch of good actors, imo. Idk I stand by it!
Alice I was wandering if I can make you a personalised intro no fee I just would love to see one of my favourite youtubers with an intro made by me if yes reply to this comment
I can understand a scholarly author and historian being upset at the Serpent Queen. It has been the climate when portraying a historical event. Changes are made to please the public. Not everyone is like myself and loves social history even when it's boring. So, film producers aren't going to make a series or film no one wants to watch. As an older person, I realize this. You can choose not to expose people who have never heard of Catherine de Medici. The other choice is to watch the series and begin reading on the topic and learn. Oh I really disliked the Black Swan.
Kinda figured Meghan Follows would be number one after watching your Reign vlogs. Totally agree
Never mess with Anne of Green Gables!

That was exactly man first thought.
Oh my God. How did I miss this video. Also, loving the makeup in the beginning of the video ❤😍
Right, time to get comfy and watch this

Catherine in the series Reign was the BEST. She was the reason I kept watching the show.
I know Catherine de Medici gets a lot of hate but to be fair m she was trying to survive a court that half the time, didn’t want her there 1:57
I love the black swan make up on you ❤ you look absolutely gorgeous.

I will Stan Samantha Morton in whatever she does.

Jaw dropping eye makeup
Samantha freakin Morton! I think I liked her portrayal of Catherine de Medici’s ambition and ruthlessness
Wasn't ready for those eyes! 👁️ 👄 👁️

Meghan Follows carried Reign 👑
The "pity" that Margaret Scott's Catherine expressed for Elizabeth was a *definite* DIG AT Elizabeth.
Maybe the magpie was Catherine da Medici happy you got her history right.
OMG the madagascar reference! 😂😂 rofl ❤

Verna Lisi was a TOTAL BOMBSHELL in the 60's.
I'm so happy for Megan Follows!
Meghan Follows was amazing and I love the eye makeup❤❤❤
Since I don’t know much about Catherine De’Medici, I really love this series. So much better than The Spanish Princess.

That would be nice. Although I am going on hiatus for a couple months after the 31st.
Can you rank like Elizabeth of York or The best Mary I in your next videos
She's done Elizabeth of York and I believe Mary I is reserved for 20 or 25 thousand subscribers
Mary the first would be great she has often seem as a villain in history

Mary, Queen of Scots in The Serpent Queen was absolutely horrible. I found her close to repulsive. Maybe I feel that way because of Stuart ancestry.
