I got these today, just a question was wandering if you noticed or could check on yours.. When the boom mic is plugged in, if you try and move it, bend it away from your mouth, does it do the horrible scratchy, static noise from the connected end? Like when you plug/unplug it you hear it, but mine does it slightly when I try and adjust the positioning. Hope that makes sense! Thanks in advance :)

hey mate, first video I've watched from you. Really enjoyed the production value and quality of delivery. The PC gaming headset market is competitive and overwhelming with what's out there. Often hard to find a great headset wireless headset for a medium budget is challenging as there are so many flaws with headsets in 2022 that get so much right, but still a few things wrong is astonishing. Can you do a video for the medium-medium high budget wireless PC gaming headset? For example, the razer sharks look great, apparently sound great, but their earmuffs have to keep being adjusted after sliding down...and other products that compete have equivalent flaws. Would be good to get a great comparison to see what comes out on top.

The mic both internally and the boom sound so much better on the aux it is amazing
Yeah it shows most of the quality issues can stem from the wireless signal and not the mic itself. They are constrained by wireless bandwidth.

Impressed with the review. I am a long time a50 owner and desperate for a refresh as the loss of optical with migration to xbox x has killed the sound quality on the a50. I am really hoping for a refresh 🙏 but I won't touch any headset without a flip to mute option as otherwise its a deal breaker for me. Here is hoping....

Great review! You said the headset will play three sources at once without volume reduction like the TBs do. If connected via TRRS to a mobile device for Discord mobile app, and headset is powered on to connect to the console dongle (I have PS5)... Will you still project the highest quality voice to Discord?

Hey I just found your channel a few days ago and I've watched tons of your reviews. I bit the bullet and got the a50s and the arctis nova 7, and I love the A50s but it feels weird buying a 3 year old headset with half the battery life, no bluetooth, outdated support, etc. The Astro employees who comment on reddit are kind of suggesting the A30s are close to the A50... what do you think? I'd definitely prefer a more modern feature set but I do like fuller sound. Cheers mate, can't wait for the next head to head!
I'll be interested to see what they do to differentiate the eventual refreshes of the A40 and A50 that we all know are coming.

yo GT…. your reviews are normally 🔥, but this one was molten, spewing lava. absolutely spot-on what i was looking for, especially the fiddly joystick and the minuscule mute button. the comparisons to other astro’s were really helpful, too. and i think the longer, in-depth format is great. can watch in a sitting or chop it up, either way, i know it’ll be time well spent and supremely informative. Going back to Astros with the A30s after using the Nova Pros. The Nova Pros weren’t my favorite from the start of using them, I’ve used Astro since the A50 Gen 2s so it’ll be a nice welcome back to use Astro

My Razer Blackshark V2 X headset stopped working and so I wanted to buy a new headset, but I'm undecided between these two headsets, the Turtle Beach Recon 500 or the HyperX Cloud X, which one do you think I should buy? I wanted to use the microphone of this new headset in Livestreams and PS5.

I purchased the nova pros wireless 3 days ago, luckily I don’t feel any bump , love it ! Coming from a Astro a40 I think the nova pro wireless is at the top of the mountain especially with the battery feature sound is amazing as well I’m hearing every little detail in game

I’m returning my Nova Pros because I felt the bump, I’ve been using Astros since the Gen 2s and I miss using Astro headsets especially since it’s good on console
Man, the Astro A30 charged to 100% in just one hour, and when I first used it, it was at 40% but then I used it to 5%. It's an incredible headset. While it might not blast music as loudly, even with EQ adjustments on your phone, it really amps up the excitement when connected for gaming. I'm absolutely loving this headset, no question about it!

bro i have my headphone paired to my phone and ps5 but when i try to use the eq on the app it doesn’t let me it use it. what did u do to utilize the eq on the logitech app??
@@FlaqHustlezI had the same issue. I’m sending mine back. The sound quality ok but it’s low. The headset is overpriced imo. The game/voice balance doesn’t work as well.

After watching at least 50 videos in the last 7 days a bothersome situation arose once again
All over TH-cam are “reviews” of not just headsets but essentially everything-obviously
But most of them are brand ambassadors on the DL
they get sent these products free of charge therefore creating a review video that is completely biased giving the viewer and altered perception of reality
It is wildly frustrating. Essentially leaving me with more questions than before. Which in turn makes it that much harder to pick a dam headset
Your videos are long but you do numerous tests and showcase every detail well
So I thank you for your efforts
Got one yesterday and I very impressed with it. The ear hole is a bit small for me, and long sessions will have you adjusting it for comfort, but these are not a huge deal. Sound is great, and the look is on point. A great headset!

I love this headset my favorite headset was the A50 but after all the updates so they can be used with the ps5 they sound flat no bass at all the only problem I got with this is the mic picks up allot of noise but I really liked them
How is the sidetone on the headset?
I didn't hear you mention it and I tend to like a lot of side tone where some other headsets have very little sideline.
If you were just buying a headset primarily for call of duty which would you pick? Concerns are foot steps, directional Audio and mic sensitivity(so party chat don’t hear every noise around me.)
DUDE 18:50 you literally just sold the headset to me. I need a headset that can hear PS5 and PC at the same time. I noticed the mic breakdown though. When connected to multiple devices does the mic prioritize a connection over another? I was kind of hoping to use the headset on PC with the wireless dongle for Discord and PS5 through the aux cable but don't really want to use the mic on PS5. Or is the mic simultaneous with aux as well as wireless and BT?
I laughed so hard when you were explaining the nova sound profile. You had to like lightly reel yourself in after you cupped your mouth 😂 genuinely hilarious, but also the perfect way to describe it.
Still rocking the Audeze Penrose x!! is there anything at the 200-300 price point that matches their audio quality? I was previously using Arctis pro's with DAC and A40 with astro game amp. But the Penrose audio wise has crushed everything else I have tried so far. What about the A30's are they a step above the A40's/50's ? Why segment do this fill, or should I say who are these for?
Another great in depth review and anothet example why i subscribe. One suggestion is that if you have a product that uses leather or leatherette it may be helpful to specify (if the information is available) if it is vegan and/or sustainable for those of us who are more conscious consumers.

I didn’t forget because they do not compare. In pure analog mode, the H6PRO is superior in every way. H6PRO does not offer wireless, game to chat mic, custom eq, etc If you don’t need any of those extra features, the H6PRO is better.
Kinda odd Astro or Logitech (since they own them now) didn’t use metal sides like the A40. It’s nice that they have speak tags and magnetic earpads like the A40s
As an add on to that end of video round up - how is the A30 versus the Penrose?
I'm super torn on the Nova 7 because the mids dip and the arctis 7's sounded terrible. How does the nova 7 compare to the arctis 7, BlackShark V2 Pro wireless or Corsair HS80 as far as audio quality, imaging, and sound stage are concerned?
Hey man thanks for your great review as always. You reviews with detailed information and honest (which I loved). I've been watching your reviews especially on wireless headset. I've been looking for a good sounding, feature rich, good mic wireless headset on sub $300 price and haven't found anything that suits me well. I've tried Steelseries Arctis 7p+, Epos H3Pro hybrid, and H6Pro (I really like this headset but again, it is not wireless). Do you have a recommendation for me that you think could suits me well? This Astro A30 seems good and has quite good sound profile but I don't quite like the mic. Thanks man

Great review as always! Have you don’t the Hyper X Alpha Wireless? I thought I hated Hyper X headsets until I tried them and now I’m using them over my Penrose because of that great bass. Reminds me of the gen 2 700 max but with 300hr battery life for my home gaming and on the go laptop gaming with once a month charging.
Would you recommend upgrading from the astro A50s?
Good review, but I´ve got one question. Does the game/ voice chat mix work on ps5 or just on pc?
It works on the consoles too, but you gotta use the Logitech app to get it to work properly.
I'm curious, will these work with an A20 Gen 2 Transmitter or are they hard coded to only work with Transmitters for the A30 if there are specific ones? (I got an A20 Gen 2 for PlayStation 2 weeks ago & have just won an A30 gen 2, but need to decide between PS or Xbox version & I am hoping if I go Xbox, that it can pair with both Transmitters when I want to use it on either system).

Great detailed review. Thank you for doing this. I have the original Astro A30s they were my first gaming headset with the wireless astro 5.8 mixamp on the PS3. The original a30s were on ear so your ears would get tender after a while. Also the mic was really bad on the original a30s. I am tempted to try these. I have the astro a40 and sony inzone H9 at the moment.
Thanks so much! This is more of a side-grade to those to be honest. If you like the features, design, and layout sure it's worth trying. The A30 is nice, don't get me wrong, but don't expect a massive improvement compared to the ones you have. If you can pull the bass down on the H9 and fix the treble it's still really nice.
How does the A30 mic compare to the A50 (gen4) mic? Are they about the same sound quality?

I've been searching all over for the answer to this question... For console gaming using a wired headset means plugging into the wireless controller (for the most part). That being said what produces better sound an affordable wired headset like HyperX CloudX plugged into the controller or a wireless headset like the A30's via 2.4ghz dongle plugged directly into the console? I know you have be be careful which wired headset you use because the controller can only output so much power. Thank you!

Awesome review I'm definitely sold on these. I think the mic sounds good enough for the price, I've had hyper x cloud flights for a few years and those mics are straight up trash. The hyper x headsets do sound amazing but, I did like the Astro A50s but they sound to muddy for me so I'm hoping these sound better then them which you did say they do.

@@skuzi7897 I've had loads of headsets and I currently have the nova pro wired and the a30s. The a30s are one of the best sounding headsets I've heard, they are very clear but also have punchy bass. Beware of the comfort but, I find them extremely uncomfortable, it sucks because they do everything else so right

@@skuzi7897 the earpads feel soft to touch but are fairly stiff on the head due to the clamp force, the headband sucks to. It's just not very good on the head, I've had my kids freinds and wife say the same thing. I haven't tried the epos yet as I've heard that are better for PC. I've tried all Astros all hyper x headsets turtle beach SteelSeries and the Sony's. The Sony h9s are the most comfortable I've ever used but they suck in terms of sound side tone and build

I got mines yesterday and I might be just me but they fell to small for my head shape and size and a little uncomfortable, maybe with some use I'll get use to it and fell better
