    🔹 Ingredients: 🔹
    - 500 ml / 2 cups sparkling water
    - 100 ml / 0.4 cups vegetable oil
    - 1 tsp salt
    - 250g / 0.5 lbs cottage cheese
    - 3-4 tbsp sour cream
    - 180g / 0.3 lbs feta cheese
    - 500g / 1.1 lbs phyllo dough sheets
    - oil for greasing the pan
    🔹 Preparation: 🔹
    1. Mix cottage cheese, feta cheese, and sour cream well to create a smooth filling.
    2. Mix sparkling water, oil and salt. Preheat the oven to 210°C / 410°F.
    3. Separate your phyllo pastry and save 2 sheets for the end. Grease up your pan well, and let's start layering.
    4. First, we need to add two layers of dough on top of each other, letting the excess dough hang over the edges. Spoon over 2-3 tbsp of the liquid mixture and spread it around evenly.
    5. Spoon in 5 tbsp of the cheese mixture, starting from the middle, creating a small pattern. Layer over a sheet of phyllo and press down gently. Again, spoon over 2-3 tbsp of the liquid mixture.
    6. Spoon in another 4 tbsp cheese mixture, filling the gaps from below. Place over another phyllo sheet and tuck it into the corners. Spoon over 2-3 tbsp of liquid mixture.
    7. Spoon in another 4 tbsp of cheese mixture, distributing it evenly into the corners. Cover over with another 2 phyllo sheets and add 2 tbsp of liquid mixture.
    8. Now start folding the overhanging dough inwards, going clockwise. Press down gently and spoon over 2 tbsp of the liquid mixture.
    9. Repeat the process from step 4. At the end, place over the 2 phyllo sheets we saved at the start and fold them inwards. Spoon over 2-3 tbsp of the liquid mixture.
    10. Take a wooden skewer and pierce your layers to the bottom in a few places.
    11. Bake it for 40 minutes in a conventional heating setting. Let it cool for 5 minutes after baking. Remove it from the pan and cut it into 4 quarters. Serve and enjoy!
✨Tip: It's a great snack or a whole meal. Sirnica will stay fresh up to 2 days in the fridge. You can eat it either hot or cold.

Is this Bulgarian? I guess fine diced onion would also go well in this.

It's not. If my sources are correct, it's Bosnian. But please don't hold me to that. It's just what I've been told. But yeah, there's also a meat version, with onions and spices. It's delicious as well. Will make a video about it soonish.

Most likely. I know there are quite a few variations. It's amazing how we have similar things, but all delicious. :)
