Ma'am, tooth powders are equally effective as toothpaste in removing plaque. But when buying tooth powder make sure the ingredients are the same as toothpaste, because most of the tooth powder does not contain fluoride. If you are more prone to cavities it is always better to use a fluoride based toothpaste or tooth powder. Or else any form of tooth cleaning agent is fine.

Hi, oil pulling (with virgin oil) is done as an alternative to using mouthwash, as most mouthwash contains chemicals. But data on many research (meta analysis) published, even though oil pulling reduced the bacterial colony count in mouth, the reduction in bacterial colony count was lesser than that of chlorhexidine mouthwash. And also there was no significant reduction in plaque deposition.
