Started out Hann solo and played to nanoprinting. Gotta say, this game is 100% rimworld without the marauding raiders because there are only a finite number of survivors. The fewer survivors you start with, the easier the game. Counterintuitive, but having less mouths to feed as you start makes a difference
that's a really interesting play style! I should give a solo run a try.. BUT, isn't it hard with the bug attacks? Like what if your one person gets injured? Or are the attacks really small. Kinda like how rimworld scales attacks to colony value?
Digging the editing to skip to the highlights. That and coming in with some experience from the tutorial. I didn't think I'd like this after looking at the steam reviews but you've turned me around

Kind of wish it forced you to go in a bit more blind, a need to observe something before you can even harvest it or have any info at all. Just because it looks like a pine tree doesn't mean it's not actually an alien lifeform with a taste for human flesh.
90% of the resources do need to be observed so you can discover it's benefits. Like the pine trees yield more wood than the other tree. One plant gives silicone which is needed for computer chip crafting.

They other 2 TH-cam channels that I watch (that cover these types of games) seem to find that difficult heck one of them has to sound out words with more than 3 letters... I had feeling Surviving Mars was one of inspirations from the start. Mixed with Rimmworld and few other survival games like War of Mine or Surviving Aftermath. Looks nice, but its in early stage.

if its "clone" of Rimoworld i dont mind at all :p . i do have a complaint here; i know its hard to properly balance fun and realism, but for building like he did, those people would cut and saw trees for weeks before they'll have enough planks to build something like that. somehow Rimworld looks a bit more "realistic" to me (my personal opinion after few thousand hours spent on that game LOL).

Imo I like this game because it’s 3D, I do wish it had the planetary wide map system like Rimworld and more enemies. I don’t think it’s intending to be a direct clone, I tried to play Rimworld but I couldn’t get into it. This feels like a sequel to Rimworld with Kenshi vibes thrown in for flavor. I do wish there were other tribes, clans and a more expansive starting map filled with dangers both natural and artificial. Like the raiding clans from Rimworld. I also wish you could customize your survivors and their traits like Rimworld and even form religions or become something stupid like cannibals that raid other settlements for food lmao. One step at a time tho. Also, any good lumberjack can cut down 70 trees in a day, with an axe. So its not entirely unrealistic considering your settlers only cut down about 30-40 trees a day per settler. A 2,491 sq ft house, the average sized house in the US uses about 115-127 trees to build. The time consuming stuff comes from making planks, but it’s really a matter of people and skill set. Even just to get the basics up outside of defense, farming and survival took almost two years in game.
This style game play is not my fav but this game is interesting. The amount of control you have, the game also shows what every character is currently doing all the time.
My worry is that this game which looks very promising, is going to have limited success because of its DRM. Which means, very little updates and no mods.
No, no human interactions. The new trading post mode they added allows you to interact with trade ships to buy certain goods. They’re planning on adding a military outpost scenario so it’s looking like there might be human enemies in the future. But hopefully they expand upon this in the future.
Hey Light Pride! I actually had to read up on that DRM and tbh, my PC does run a bit hot with this game, and DID BSOD my computer once, but I also chalk that up to running streamlabs at the same time? Either way, I'm reading that Denuvo can cause a lot of strain on computers.... not ideal
@@SolidContent Denuvo has caused some controversy in the past. With a game that has such graphics I wonder if it runs smoothly or not. A bit tempting to buy this game, but I'll wait a bit because Rim World biotech is almost here.
I play it on a laptop, temps were reaching almost 90 degrees Celsius on normal use. After turning down the refresh rate from 60 to 30 the temps dropped down to 50-60 degrees. I also turned down the resolution to 720p, tweaked the graphics to medium and turned off vSync just to be sure. Biggest thing to cause problems was the refresh rate though. My laptop is two years old, and it was a budget laptop at the time. Specs are Intel I5-10300h coupled with a GTX1650ti and a 144 refresh rate. These are decent chips that have allowed me to play almost all games and even new ones on high graphics, but they preform worse in laptops. I can run the game on battery power for about an hour generously speaking. 30 fps is playable in this game, since you’re just watching your survivors do stuff anyway. I’d say it’s decent if you have a decent setup, if you’re on desktop I’m pretty sure you could run this game on computers almost five years old. Anything new would have no issue running this game. If you’ve ever played Kenshi and have been able to run that, chances are you’ll be able to play it.
Just read up on Denuvo... oh geeeeeez, I'm a little worried it's going to tank my computer... Also, in episode 2 I discover that he has only a year left hahaha... did NOT KNOW THIS
@@SolidContent Denuvo is killing the possibility of mods. And mods, as we know, prolong the life of any game at times. Denuvo really affects performance and shoving it into an EA game is generally some kind of nonsense.

Yeah, it really seems like they've taken the time to smooth out a lot of the UI. BUT there are still a few things I'd love to see change like... keep the tool open when I have it selected? Like I select a few trees to cut, bam - the cut tool is closed, I have to reopen and reselect cut "tree". same with walls!
What a blatant Rimworld copy this game is. Making it 3d I feel is not quite enough yet. Hopefully it finds a perspective to make it unique, so far none showed up that I've seen.

Grey items is due to lacking raw resources to build them.
