awwww My dude that comment just MADE MY NIGHT. I'm glad you like the videos, and you are more than welcome in the comments haha. Although, it's the first and probably only time I'll be called cool. Glad I've found my tribe
I am full on addicted to this game... I also love that each persons playthrough is slightly different depending on where you land and what you can get from your spaceship. You have a lot different tech tree than what I had during my playthrough... I'm sure you already know this but a bit of advice start working on clothes early and pump out as fast as you can... most of my survivors are just running around naked and not happy about it! Keep up the good work. Look forward to how your base builds out!
Did he even notice that People have special traits Laara harvest and plants faster? The Traits are much more important in my opinion than survivors being interested in special tasks. I know him not reading Tool Tips makes it more fun to watch when everything goes up in Flames but also triggers a bit my OCD.
hahahah okay Heller, that's a fair point and something I should pay attention to. BUt, doesn't their skill level trump/sync with that? Like if I put a 5 on cooking, that's always going to be the better call, no?
@@SolidContent I mean Laara is already at 5 and faster harvest and Planting Emelin just learns quicker and till she is at 5 she is basically useless at Farming rather put her on scavenging and cooking in my opinion. And your people are always tired because they wander around at night set the schedule to actually sleeping for 6 to 7 hours and they should be less cranky during the Day.
Hey bro! im really enjoying your series, and the game looks awesome! If you don't mind, a tip for scheduling, that's always a pain in the ass, i think it would be better if you divide the rest in 2 blocks. If it works like in rimworld, setting up work will force them to be awake and to prioritize work over everything, making them not rest or eat like it happened to you several times, so it's better to just leave it to anything, were they will rest and eat and then work. So what i would do it's put them to rest from 11 to 14 and from 23 to 2, that way you have 8 hs of sleep, then 2 hours of relax before sleeping (9-10 and 21-22) and then the rest on anything, having like 12hs of work. That way you make sure they always have their bars filled, and they maintain their happiness high at the same time, not wasting time stoping in the middle of work or just working less effective because they are tired or hungry. Hope it helps a bit, cause for me it was always a thing in rimworld. keep it up!
You can also farm the trees and bushes. So instead of clear cutting everything you can replenish the woods. You can also close the gates to prevent the wildlife from getting inside and eating your garden
@@SolidContent you have the farming tool to plant crops. Just like grain and melons you plot trees and when they are grown you just harvest them. You set up a wood cutter station and they will make logs and sticks.
schedule the folks to sleep from 11pm to 6am so they will feel better in the morning. You need to build a fence around the farms so the animals stop eating your crops.
Like the issue with food and things you noted are not really ever fixed but adds to a lot of wasted time and yes over time updating things to store thing in cold boxes or other will fix some of this.
Hey Solid you earned a new sub! loved the last episode as im following along with this series. Just some feedback i hope you continue making these episodes long even longer would be great really enjoying this be nice if you tried to keep it raw footage instead of cutting so much out but other than that keep it up man loving this series!
no waaaay, yesss - thanks for subbing, see you in the livestreams! And thanks for the tip, I always wonder about the raw footage... it's just a lot of me sitting there and thinking things out, while waiting FOREVER for them to craft stuff
@@SolidContent yeah agreed the crafting takes way too long. I was copying how you play and copying everything you do it helps me learn the game a lot better but I couldn’t wait for another video so I went ahead and I’m in year 3 now haha when you release a few more vids I’ll copy again. But yeah definitely feel longer episodes for a game like this and a lot more raw footage is better
Fun game! This settlement is coming along nicely. The only thing I can think to suggest would be to remember eaves when roof building so that certain items can be placed outside but still under a roof, like storage racks. Otherwise, I am impressed at how much can get done by only 4 people - they have accomplished a lot! It is sure going to hurt when Conner goes. Do you think it will be possible to explore beyond the settlement before winter hits and maybe get his replacement in training? Otherwise, first priority of Spring. Good show!
Also, the in-depth management of everything is a bit on the hard side and could use a little work on pop up notices to which issue are up and why something maybe not getting done it just adds to the frustration in game play.
@@SolidContent Right on! Hey, just a rec if you haven't already, 'think you'll enjoy "Surviving the Aftermath" . Heavy on the surviving but light on aesthetics. Lol. Cheers!
I'm loving this game so far, 13 hours in and I feel like I barely scratched the surface. I really hope they open up workshop quick and let modders go crazy.
yessss, it's such a great tip, I incorporate it on mondays ep, but it's not optimally placed unfortunately... might move at a later date... SUCH a cool thing tho.
I think observing the grain plant and then researching antibiotics are major priorities before winter. I lost my entire crew from the flu in my first winter. When the flu takes hold of one it passes to each person rapidly and incapacitates them. Oh yeah and even though she seems valuable and very qualified, stay away from the vegetarian because she starved to death my first winter.
Ya right controlled groups and this is the major issue in combat, i posted it but who reads our post if you do not give these guy money it more like we are ghost so WHATEVER HAVE FUN!
oh nooooooooo.... I wonder what that's all about? There are a fair amount of hotkey assignments for this game... and mouse commands... I'm not sure what could be causing that, but I wish you LUCK
Hey Jiemitsu, I def reccomend this one, IF you like a sort of casual free-build colony simulator. It is not a challenging early game, like Oxygen Not Included, or Banished, but rather, a lot of fun to build and design your colony layout
@@SolidContent I bought the thing thing yesterday and have been enjoying it. However I suspect there are some things still in need of a few tweaks. It is after all in early access. I assume the spoil/degradation rates are one of them.
Oh yeah I absolutely needed to do that haha... I honestly thought I paused it when I left my desk haha, but I suppose with the smaller gates, the larger gates should just be closed all the time.
Noted i posted this /review below in your first video in hope that you would at least admit that the game has some characterization issue and such but like most of you guy that do video will never not do a genuine review
REVIEWED: ISSUE OF Stranded: Alien Dawn: Don’t buy until noted issues are fixed! RETURNED THAT GAME! I´m really sorry but at this moment I cannot in good conscience recommend this game. Here is why: While the overall design looks beautiful and allows an in-depth management of the various aspects of a survivor camp, herein lies the massive problem this game has - micromanagement. The camp and character management of Stranded: Alien Dawn is ridiculously complex to the point that the game is unplayable. You cannot just order your characters to do anything directly. You mark what is to do, which leads to a storage shelf marked to be emptied and deconstructed to keep standing where it stands for days (literally!), resulting in the stuff in the shelf being exposed to the elements and rotting away. You enter orders to make new clothes, and nothing happens for days. It says, "waiting for resources", but nobody picks up the resources and makes the bloody clothes. So, somewhere in the complex chain of getting stuff from the storage, bringing it to the tailoring table and making some clothes is something missing. The problem here is that you have no idea where to start looking, which is - how do I say this nicely - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating. The game needs a major overhaul of character behavior and mechanics (oh yes, they behave like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ morons - run out in the cold for no apparent reason and then complain about hypothermia) as well as complete redo of tasking and commands. Also, an overhaul of the psychology/happiness aspect is urgently needed. For space travelers they not only ♥♥♥♥♥ about everything, but also don't do anything about it, no matter how many toys and distractions you build for them. Happiness goes down fast and is sometimes just impossible to restore - or it stays low, leading to one temper tantrum after the next, which is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying and frustrating.
To your Crafting problem if the Survivors don't have the Skill they won't do it, not even attempt and Fail i had a survivor on crafting Veggie Leather needs Crafting level 2 but had only level 1 in crafting she did not go there when i told her to do bandages and Cloth from scrap (needs level 1) she was on it in seconds. So you need to keep this in mind too but i agree polish is needed but that's why it is EA not 1.0 i think it will get ironed out eventually.

This guys survived spaceship crush in deep space and almost died because of your package. They shame on you! 😆

Connor's migraine is caused by sharing a base with three women.😀
