    I already have a garmin fish finder in the boat and just want to use this as a chartplotter. Will it work without a transducer and how much are maps for the UK?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Luke. Yes, you can certainly use it that way. All of the sonar capabilities will be switched off in the absence of a transducer, and you can even delete any sonar pages from the home screen and use those spaces for something else.
      In the UK we offer a couple of different bundles that include Element with either a LightHouse UK and Ireland Chart, or with a Navionics Small Download chart included. In the Navionics version you activate the chart online and then choose the area you want to cover from areas all over Europe. Individually, the LightHouse chart is about £145.00 (RRP inc. VAT) and the Navionics is £150.00 (RRP Inc. VAT), but there is normally a price advantage when you purchase it bundled with the Element MFD. Your local Raymarine dealer can give you the most accurate pricing.

    So which unit do I want for deep water fishing? I hear they are only good up to 30meters?

      The Raymarine Element HV as they said would work better for you

    • @RaymarineInc

      For fishing you'll want the Element HV with HyperVision. Element-S, in this video, is primarily for sailing vessels or non-fishing powerboats. The HV versions of Element have DownVision, SideVision and 3D sonar built-in.

    Can you mirror your charts to tablet?

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Jani. Currently, Element does not offer screen mirroring. That is something you can do with our Axiom series units.

      No. It won't.

    I bought this unit for my sail boat July 28/2020 based on the recommendation from this video, against my original intuition to buy a Garmin with far more features. Boy what a mistake I made. The map software made by Raymarine crashes the unit. Customer service acknowledges this. I was on a FUCKING island with no internet or stores to buy Micro SD cards for upgrading the system. In the year 2020 if you cant make and sell chart plotter for navigation purpose that works out of the box, then why in god's hell are you still in business??? If Apple sold laptops or phones with an OS that crashed out of the box they would go out of business.

      Hi Zack. Feel free to send me an email, james.f.mcgowan@raymarine.com so I can help you to get your issue resolved.

      @@RaymarineInc ... so what was the outcome?
      I was on the brink of buying one until I saw this comment.
      Poor business relations from Raymarine

    • @BetterthanitwasNetsailing

      @@AA-4cx250b I just bought one of these. BIG mistake. The main menu invites you to connect your phone - but this is a feature Raymarine have cut out of the OS. It won't sync with your navionics account (even though it can go online - see here: www.navionics.com/media/wysiwyg/docs/Compatibility_Guides/GPS_Plotter_Cards_Compatibility_Guide.pdf) either.
      I had thought the days of fiddling around with SD cards were on the way out - along with manufacturers who downgrade software in order to 'up sell' more expensive units. Not only that but this unit ships without the necessary adapter (yes, you need to buy an adapter) to attach it to Raymarine's own brand SeaTalk NG network. I still cannot quite believe that one. They sell a product that requires an adaptor to attach to their own network... What the heck? And then they don't stick one in the box either. Come on. Stick another £40 on the ticket and call it a 'kit' like everyone else!!!
      I had thought I would just buy a Raymarine Axiom to go with it - put the Axiom at the nav station and punt the data out to the Element. Surprise surprise, these two units are not compatible with each other.
      I bought a chart plotter, AIS and Autohelm from Raymarine. Am thinking my best option is to sell them and get something else.

    COME ON RAYMARINE, be like GARMIN, offer both touch screen and buttons ON THE SAME UNIT, this is 2022...

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our Axiom Pro-S and Axiom Pro RVX have both buttons and touchscreen. We call it "HybridTouch."

      @@RaymarineInc Ya sure, 4 grand later. I sold a boat with a nice garmin, bought sailboat with raymarine i50/i60 set, thought I'd make the move to R. But, honestly, it's not worth it. You're budget elements cannot even be mirrored on a tablet. You have nothing to compare with Garmin. Your technology is lagging. Your Axioms can only store 15 tracks... deal breaker right there. I'm rebuying Garmin like many others I've been noticing in various reviews

    How can a unit, at this pricepoint, not offer "Autorouting".
    It's 2023, and it give you the "birds way" to the waypoint - in a unit for 7000kr (700USD).
    That's horrible!
    And there's no way that this is a hardware-based reason, as computing the route requires bare to minium.
    I've had mine for 4 months (counting the days it was on land) - and already looking at selling it to buy GARMIN.
    What a disappointment from Raymarine.

    • @RaymarineInc
      @RaymarineInc  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Nick. The Element-series units do offer autorouting when used with either Navionics or C-MAP electronic charts. Simply press and hold on your destination on the chart and select "Autoroute to here" in the menu that pops up.
      Autorouting is not available using LightHouse charts.

      @@RaymarineInc After a ton of searching, I finally found out about this. Honestly, it's so confusing to even get that information. So, I bought this unit, and it came with LightHouse charts. I mean, you'd think it would have a basic feature like autorouting, right?
      But guess what? It's not included in LightHouse charts! I don't get it. Is it something they haven't added yet and will do in the future, or is it just a sneaky way for Raymarine to make more money?
      If it's the latter, I'd rather just sell my unit and get myself a GARMIN instead.
