Or he’s a field service contractor. He orders parts before he goes out on a job and follows the miners rule (one to use, one to loose and one to steal ). More than that if you’re going to a job in the middle of nowhere based on a conversation with someone who couldn’t do the job themselves you tend to bring options. A second trip is a lot more expensive than a few extra parts so no one complains when you order plenty.

The dirty fuel filter has a surprising impact on performance, I just replaced one like that on my Vanguard powered mower.
"Having the right parts on hand" usually means I bought too many or the wrong parts before, but it sure feels good.
I feel like a Vanguard (v-twin?) might be overkill for log splitting, but it did rev up for the gnarly fork and the hardwood.

Nice to see this video, my friend and I are building one at the moment made out of a repurposed toyota diesel forklift for the hydraulics, the boom of a forklift with its cradle mad as an anvil to push the stumps into a multi blade cleever (only thing we had to buy was the piston, we could find them second hand for about 200usd but you wouldn't know what your getting, and 300usd for a new one or replacing gaskets on an old one, cheaper buying new). And the whole contraption will be standing on two trailer axles so it is a standalone unit that you can haul around wherever you need it.
