- This is a tool-assisted speedrun. This means, I used tools such as frame advance and savestates to complete the game as fast as possible. The game is emulated on Bizhawk. I do NOT compete with regular speedruns.
In this video, I complete the "Expert" levels of Super Monkey Ball Jr.

Such an impressive game. If someone told me it was a budget DS title I'd probably believe them.

So what would the bottom screen be
CherryColaCake the easiest to do would be to have the menu and timer on the bottom to have the top screen look cleaner. Also i’d imagine the bottom screen is probably whatever was on the 3ds monkey ball game.
The fact that there was a "hurry up!" during a TAS makes me question the designs of some of the GBA levels
yeah that means they were programming levels that gave you NO time to complete them.

This game was actually very impressive recreated on the GBA. exact same physics as the home console is!

It's because of the physics I wouldn't even think of jumping almost all the time. You can do it on the other games otherwise.

growing up, I was obsessed with this game on my gameboy advance but now that I have it on my emulator,
I don't know how I was so easily able to steer AiAi with dying so little times.

To this day, that "Hurry up!" is still the most stressful thing I heard.
I don’t know whether to be impressed by the run or the fact that this was able to work and run on the Gameboy.
Unrelated to your run, I always thought this game had the coolest theme music and backgrounds as the level increased 😃
They have great vibe backgrounds.

The graphics of this game remind me of the graphics of Star Fox 1993, a game I wonder why they didn’t remake for the GBA.

This games monkey sprites are way better than touch and rolls despite the huge power increase
I mean touch and rolls is supposed to be more cartoony.

In my opinion, the artwork and sprites for this game are creepy. Touch and roll seems more cuter and it's less creepy

Speedruns of this game give me more anxiety than anything else
This was the first Super Monkey Ball game I ever beat! It's a technical marvel, considering the limitations of the GBA. Certainly a product of its time, but still a great game.
I remember playing this so much!! Weirds me out that it even exists!
The Mountain has the Shopping Centre music and the Cementery has the Mountain music. lol
I always thought the cemetery area looked more like a Gothic Colosseum

What the actual fuck are you talking about? The physics in Jr. are the furthest away thing from the originals you can get. Acceleration is lumbering and sluggish, the game is slippery as hell, your top speed is pathetic and gravity is twice as heavy as it should be.

@@TheLobsterCopter5000 Super Monkey Ball Jr is kinda bad, However the GameCube version of the game actually has more great 3D graphics and classic minigame modes including Super monkey ball 2.

Sometimes Voice Clips won't load up properly in the game, and sometimes it'll sound muted, or like in video. It's a GBA game, what did you expected?
@@frannielmartinez Why did he use OBS to record when he could’ve just Dumped a Avi file to 240 x 160 pixels and encoded it to HD? I’m pretty sure there’s a Avi dump in Bizhawk.
