Just a reminder that in Super Monkey Ball, you don’t control the character, you control the _course._ Ai-Ai has no say in anything that’s happening, so he’s probably absolutely fucking _terrified_ at all the hot nonsense he’s being subjected to.
@@pedrodu3626this is true in every title past banana blitz, but in the originals it was only the monkey you controlled. You can see in the replays that the stage never actually tilts.
Look at this dude, doing in 13 minutes something that took me 13 hours to do. Also, I never saw the Expert Extra or Master stages the entire time I ever owned a Super Monkey Ball 1 disc. "Expert" lived up to its name. So maddeningly difficult! D:
well, ok, it is and it isn't. a few humans created a table of inputs that a computer could consistently do over and over again. humans are inconsistent, computers are not. they essentially (i hate using this word) "program" the computer to play those same inputs over and over again, tweaking things slightly, to produce a "perfect" speedrun. i personally believe that a perfect speedrun (especially for a game like this) isn't possible, but this is the best we've got with everything currently known. anyway, all of that is what defines a TAS, or, a "Tool Assisted Speedrun." i'm a TASer myself, and if anyone who is more of an expert sees something wrong with this reply, then go ahead and roast me.
While a funny thought, that isn't actually a pause buffer. The version of Dolphin used to make this TAS has a glitch that would cause inputs to be dropped for a frame while recording inputs, so the pause menu is brought up so that the dropped input doesn't affect gameplay.
Some are not, but here are the following list that are so hard: Ex 1 Variable Width Ex 3 Ooparts Ex 8 Helix Ex 10 Nintendo Ex 9 Dizzy system Ex 4 Planets Ex 7 Synchronized All of those levels are hard in my opinion!
Brandon_ well, it IS humanly possible - granted you need a couple hundred thousand/million entirely frame-perfect inputs, but humans are entirely capable of frame-perfect inputs repeatedly. In theory an insane amount of practice/luck would produce this exact result by a human on a controller - it's just super unlikely. For it to be actually humanly impossible, it'd have to have physically impossible inputs, like up and down on a control stick/d-pad simultaneously, like some TASes use. Impossible, no. But improbable? Very.
This probably won't happen in the foreseeable future, unfortunately. Xbox emulation is unusable and PS2 emulation isn't much better, especially since it lacks many of the tools that would be essential to a TAS.
That's called a glitch goal. It's when you trigger a goal without breaking the goal tape. Replays with that don't break the tape, even if if did in gameplay.
I played this when I was little, but not the expert or master stages! We Still have it, but it doesn't work! What a bummer! 😛Oh well at least I have monkey ball 2 and the GBA version of it which its called monkey ball jr!

Incorrect. You control both.

Falling and stumbling to victory. A sight to behold.
Amazingly completed!!! I was shocked the whole entire time!!!
DoggieGames :D its tool assisted
The most satisfying TAS *ever*
1:56 What a smashed ball you have, AiAi!
I loved this game as a kid on the game cube
Red Hood same
1:57 Your that good that you even broke the collision and 4th wall
Lol

i refuse to accept this is real XD
it's not- it's a computer.

i like that tas'ers can make expert through master seem like easy and, you call that a stage?

You Know A Run's Ridiculous When The TAS Uses Pause Buffering

Wow, SMB TASes are always fun
The weird thing is these strats aren't entirely that far off from realtime speedruns.

One random Monkey Ball Dev adding a single Banana on this Master Stage just for some TAS Maker to hit exactly 100 Bananas years later.
Besides the screwed up ball glitch AIAI are you okay?
When I was little, I only got up to Floor 21.
Geez, now I realized Expert only had Warp Goals on Stages 2, 3, 42, & 46...
Sub 13 minutes
Is it possible to learn something like this in real life from a TAS?
stage 24 is goated
This game is crazy
Master mode sounds so familiar.
Was it in a sonic compilation?
Nice job Byrz & Cyc :D
Yaaay! 🙉
5:56 the bananas... and the time...
Why didn't you either skip the credits or collect as many bananas as possible?
TAS timing ends on the last input.
that E24 strat... fucking what
Could you do TAS for all of the bonus levels?
It's not optimal for finishing it considering speedrun is involved.
You know what? This made me kinda want to play SMB, even though I'm a clumsy idiot without fine motor skills.
The Master stages in this one looks harder than part 2! Part 2 master stages aren't as bad as this!
Well master extra is hard and complicated!
Some are not, but here are the following list that are so hard:
Ex 1 Variable Width
Ex 3 Ooparts
Ex 8 Helix
Ex 10 Nintendo
Ex 9 Dizzy system
Ex 4 Planets
Ex 7 Synchronized
All of those levels are hard in my opinion!
I've never seen anything past stage 17 on expert, and I'm now learning there were master stages too...
Expert 50 cracked me up! 😂😂
Well I’ve gotten more bananas during the credits than you so...
RTA見てこれは流石にえぐすぎる
10:48 Aiai didn't even tough the tape
Even in a TAS run, pause buffering is still a common practice.
EXAM C?!?!?
EXPERT 7?!?!?
Literally was about die vomiting, screaming, crying if they didn't get to 100 bananas during the run. Unfortunately the credits did in fact kill me.
You are Epic
Awesome ninja master skills your a pro play
This TAS literally just says "I don't need pauses! All I need is frames!"
this is imposible
It's a computer I think. Maybe that's what the 'TAS' means. Then again I'm not sure, but this isn't humanly possible.
yes. TAS stands for tool assisted speedrun.

Sophia Ceja I agree!
Sophia Ceja its tool assisted witch means they go and do every individual frame perfectly

Master 9 looks really hard too!
On Extra 10, He Never Touched The Goal!!!
That's called a glitch goal. It's when you trigger a goal without breaking the goal tape. Replays with that don't break the tape, even if if did in gameplay.
Master 3 looks difficult!! 😮
