    Thank you for making this video. I'm going to be moving to Traverse City for a job. The company even drive me around the area a bit and I was somewhat concerned due to a lack of diversity. But your video set me at ease. Thank you, again!

      @@livegreatgr I just liked how you seemed to touch upon every aspect of life from cost of living to experiences you had with people you met. You even pointed to a blue house as an example of the typical home architecture one can expect when living there. My wife and I have been listening to various videos that have been made about Traverse City in the last year. Yours was definitely the best I saw.

      Lack of diversity? Oh, you are one of those, huh? Might want to stay away from northern Michigan then.

    I'm a local and yes, it's absolutely beautiful- but very expensive! Flying out of TVC always costs more than GR. It gets packed in the summer with tourists and locals seek other beaches and places to avoid the chaos and crowds.

    Traverse City is on it's way to becoming the "hood of the north" because of uncontrolled growth. It's just getting to big and expensive along with getting some good solid gang activity.

    I do believe traverse city strictly limits Airbnbs, could be wrong but I feel I read something recently about "how to get around traverse city regulations on Airbnb

    • @livegreatgr
      @livegreatgr  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey @ramonal2205! Traverse City has some pretty tight rules on short-term rentals like Airbnb. You can rent out rooms in your home if you’re there during the guest's stay, but renting out your whole house is mostly a no-go in residential areas.

    I love traverse city. Ive been visiting yearly since i was a child and dream of living there. Unfortunately, it is not a friendly city for working class people. The cost of housing and the "view of the bay, half the pay" mentality keeps me from ever being able to afford to live there. Its a playground for the rich.

    • @livegreatgr
      @livegreatgr  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Traverse City's popularity as a tourist destination and its desirability for second-home owners can indeed contribute to higher living expenses and a competitive housing market. Perhaps exploring nearby communities or finding ways to enjoy Traverse City's offerings through frequent visits can help maintain your connection to the area while also considering more financially feasible living options.

      @@livegreatgr I was born and raised in Kalamazoo. But it does not really matter as far as knowing the condition of the roads in Michigan. It's frequently reported that their roads are terrible. The very last listing I saw was that Michigan was ranked number one among the states with the worst roads. With the weather they get how could you expect much different?
