Grand Rapids Township is between EGR and Ada. A lot of people in the Forest Hills school district identify with Forest Hills more than with their municipality (Ada, Cascade, GR Township)
EGR is very walkable. Many of the other suburbs listed are somewhat walkable if you live close to their downtown areas, but the majority of the housing, particularly newer, is not near the center. There are many suburban areas that are within the borders of the city of Grand Rapids. Many were annexed to the city after being developed.

I grew up and still live near Grand Rapids! The towns you listed are very nice. However I do think it is worth mentioning you basically listed the richest towns in the area. (Minus Ada i think but I don’t want to live in woods) Mind doing one for someone who makes the median 35,000$ a year and doesn’t want to live in the woods? Also as nice as those towns are I can’t stand the middle class culture around here. It’s very much a culture of smile and wave and wave at all costs and have no genuine personality. Especially Rockford lol.Great places for raising families though I guess.

    3. Breckenridge, Colorado

    5. Coeur d' Alene, Idaho
    6. Missoula, Montana

People that are in snow up to their butt, is like Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort/Mammoth Lakes California where it got 19 FEET OF SNOW IN JUST 7 DAYS in December, 2018. So stop being a whining crybaby about this trivial winter weather in Michigan.

@@livinginwestmi , I was born in Detroit and grew up there and Livonia. Almost two years after high school I went into the USAF. I met Kathy at my 3rd AFB, and married her there. At my last USAF base our daughter was born there in Texas. Summer 1978 we had 55 days in a row of 100 degrees or hotter. Twenty of those days were between 110 to 114 degrees. It was a dry heat climate though. Anyway before my entry into the USAF, my high school friend and myself went on a Ski trip to Alta, Utah and Jackson Hole Ski Resort, Wyoming(the state of course). January, 1974 I drove by myself from Altus AFB, Oklahoma into Colorado and went skiing of one day each of 4 different ones. Last one was Aspen Mountain. Drive all the way back to Altus with no sleep of about 700 miles(national speed limit was 55 mph back then). There's places then long time ago and now of NO GUARDRAILS. I was fortunate of driving in a snowstorm or a blizzard. Do you know what it is to drive in the mountains at night where you never been in your life with wet snow falling down the size of a quarter and no guardrails? That's what Paul and myself had endear from leaving Utah into Idaho on the way to Jackson Hole. I lived in all kinds of weather.
We don't have avalanches, rock slides, mud slides, and no long periods of no guardrails. Take a look at TH-cam videos of Red Mountain Pass. About 3/4 miles south of Ouray(pronounced U-ray, named after a Ute Native American Indian Chief) going south on U.S. Highway 550/Million Dollar Highway there on this Red Mountain Pass highway portion, it drops off to about 800 FEET down to the river gorge below. So you go off the road, you very well will die. We don't get the snow in the Cascades Mountains of Washington or western Japan. Look up this Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route where this Snow Wall was 19 Meters High = 62 Feet High in Spring, 2017. When was last time we have a wall of snow and ice 60 feet high anywhere in the world? When I was in the USAF, I heard it was 40 Degrees Below Zero plus 70 MPH WINDS there North Dakota. The coldest I've seen was 28 degrees below zero in Indian River, Michigan back in the late 1980's at parents house. Understand? We don't have any of those things in Michigan.
By the way, Red Mountain Pass is the most dangerous paved Mountain Pass in all of Canada and the U.S. You're one in twenty of dying of the various reasons in a snowstorm and not the higher sustained winds of a blizzard on this Pass road.

.........Gentlemen, I do like your Grand Rapids videos..I'm learning all sorts of things about my second/third adopted Hometown. I came from a military family and we moved every 1 to 2 years, thankfully always to a Coast Guard station in Michigan, always by Lake Michigan and we got to live in several of Michigan's nicest (IMHO) cities.
    ........How Ever....
Your sound on the vids...stinks. Its difficult to understand what you're saying with the wind and other background sounds.
......One of the nicer things about my job was my company had clients in each of these cities. Some were one time jobs, others were either monthly or weekly visits by our water specialists located in Moline.
.....You did miss the village of Moline, ( most people don't know that there is a Moline IN Michigan ) but it has little to offer in ways of shopping, schools, sports, etc.
.....But...We are a part of the Wayland Union school system
( WUSS) and the city of Wayland should have made your list, IMHO. It has all the basics, a decent grocery store, hardware, one, mayor car dealership, a good library and they even have a MacDonald's, Burger King and a nice sports bar/restaurant...oh, and a second traffic light that has a left hand turn lane.
.......Like Wayland, Moline It Is a nice, quiet place to live and raise your children. I think that's why Moline is a real estate hot spot. We are asked several times a year...usually Spring and Summer...if we wish to sell our home.
    Thanks again for the videos.
