Way too many moving parts to fail in flight. Any failure would leave you falling from the sky like a rock. No gliding down to a safe landing, no auto rotation. Terrible idea
A rectangle precision parachute could be used in case of total failure.Just like they use on small personal aircraft.
For those who do not know: the cyclotor was used already in the 1900s, but since the technology was not advanced to safely test cyclotors and all the problems related to the flight of a helicopter were not known, propellers were chosen that we know to this day.
