Hyundai is killing it right now. Their vehicles are looking great and are packed with options. Best bang for your dollar. Not sure about the reliability though.
Worst case scenario, if the vehicle does end up being unreliable, you do get that 100,000 mile warranty, free of charge. Some Kia/Hyundai dealerships in the US now give out free 200,000 mile powertrain warranties...they wouldn't do that if they weren't confident about their products.
@@FreewayBrent Yeah, props to Hyundai. My 2013 Sonata started having an engine issue and it's well past the 100,000 mile warranty and they swapped the entire engine for free. Hey Guys, great review as always. Get your hands on the 4 cylinder, it’s bound to be the top seller and since this version doesn’t really compete from an aggressive drive point of view I would think the 2.5 might be even more relevant vs the Germans and Volvo XC60.

In Australia there are zero servicing costs for the first 5 years plus they pick up your car and drop a loaner Genesis. Had my test drive on Friday and it's a real head turner. The Augmented Reality Navigation is something to see. Best feature ( which should be in all cars ) is the blind spot cameras which take the place of your speedo or tacho when you use an indicator.

Overpriced by about 5-10 grand. At $75k you can buy the SQ5 Sportsback. Only thing I really dislike, are the turning signals in the back of the car. They're at wheel level, just like the Tucson. Hey, great video, as usual, one thing I would suggest as an improvement is to put a graphic of the box test scores of its potential competitors on-screen during the box test to make the box test more useful. The box test is an easy thing to compare across cars, so that's why I feel this suggestion could be added.

@@Nimasis Watching the Korean models feature videos had me buying this the moment it arrived in the US. Then when it finally did I was so disappointed at how many things were stripped from it. Forced into suede interior with top sports package, no automatic self parking assist and finally no augmented reality. Such a shame because it's a beautiful car but I'm holding off on purchasing it now.
Good review and excellent vehicle. The germans are great as well in terms of performance and styling. I think Genesis was looking for balance here. The styling, tech and interior quality rule the day here. Performance is good here but not ground breaking in the segment. Torque is excellent and turn-in is good, but still a bit more body roll then I would like. A 1/4" drop and summer tires would do wonders here.
And what's amazing is that this GV70 is actually more attractive (actually I find the Bentayga kinda pudgy looking). I truly would be happier with the GV70.
there's a safety concern to change a seat while driving, especially memory seat. Modern cars have a great range of adjustability, to a point where one may lose access to brakes/gas/steering wheel. You don't want that to happen while moving.
NOTE. They brought back the crosshatch pattern on the ground effects and wheels. These patterns were on the GV80 concept, took it all off, then brought it all back on the GV70. Looks great. The GV80 would look better with the sportier crosshatch and trim, rather than all the Infiniti like chrome.
I don't want to be that guy, but how the black magic hell does this suv doesn't fit more boxes compared to the honda civic hatchback? Honda magic? Love you guys

The only other thing I'd put down in a nice to have that a lot of competitors may have on their higher end models is a softer dash material. It looks great, and doesn't really effect anything, but it's a very firm material covering the dash. Doesn't really matter to me, but I've heard one person comment on it. But, I've listed a lot of negatives in this review, but everytime I get in the car after a long day at work, I turn on the seat cooling, seat massaging, turn on something on my phone to listen to, and just relax and enjoy the ride home and by the time I get home, I feel amazing. And, if a vehicle can do that, then it's well worth the price of admission.
@@synbios1978 What a thorough review. Thanks for posting your experience. I truly am smitten by this vehicle; I'm simply bowled over by the looks. It would be a fantastic garage mate to my bright blue F-Type R.
@@synbios1978 thanks for the input. I actually sold my G70 for this car. Just to let you know that door handle thing happened with the g70 as well. That's gonna happen regardless because of the finish on the handles
Congratulations! I reserved mine, but it will not be in until 11/4. I got the 2.5T Advanced Trim Black/Black. I wanted the Burgundy interior, but the dealership were not getting one anytime soon.
Granted, it was something that was from a recall, but after 8 years of owning the car, they could've gave me a hard time about it.
lets talk about german reliability...

This car has definitely some quirky features.and all of them are useful too.
The already needed features are refines like infotainment system and camera.the interior unique and simple and really beautiful exterior too except for that ridiculous exhaust.i prefer the exhaust in base model

I met the love of my life while test driving this car and I think her best has a crush on me too. Trust me the Genesis GV70 is gold
Dude, that's too cool? Can you expound on what happened?
I think this has the best exterior out of their lineup with the new Genesis design.

I've never wanted a Hyundai so much in my life. WoW, what a great looking vehicle.
Okay I watch a LOT of car channels. Jacob and Yuri are by far the best when it comes to back and forth between each other. I have a 2022 GV 70 with 3.5 T with premium package. Great car, beyond my expections. I put a licence plate with a black surrond on the lower front grill, and it looks great. Actually breaks up the big front grill. I did make a custom bracket to make the attachment, tight to the grill.

Good review and excellent vehicle. The germans are great as well in terms of performance and styling. I think Genesis was looking for balance here.
