@@UncleTonyshotsauce lol, a lot of South Korean companies (including Kia and Daewoo) went under in 1997 because they were expanding like hell using a ton of debt since the 70s, and when the '97 Asian Financial Crisis occurred, they all of a sudden had to pay back all the money they owed. Hyundai taking on new designs, platforms, and building better cars is not the case and is nowhere comparable to what happened to Kia in 1997. Also, current Hyundai is a much larger conglomerate and has much more share in the global market than Kia ever was.

Genesis is putting pressure on the industry... I love the G70, G80, and GV70!!!
If I was in the market for a new SUV... this would be ar the top of the list.
This is a design masterpiece. I personally love the curvature of the rear end and not having the tails lights protrude out from the body (think Japanese cars). This is a German car with a Korean drivetrain and electronics.

German car with Korean drivetrain and electronics.. Couldn't have said it better myself. Kia and Hyundai have been copying and exceeding BMW in design. It's got a great powerful engine, but the drivetrain is definitely a weakspot.
@@nonikhanna1 how is the driverrqin a weakness? Because it's got 100k mile warranty while the german reliability is trash? Most people are okay with less HP for more reliability
@@Iamallwaysright1 because it has 375HP but lot of that power is lost through transmission. Has nothing to do with reliability just engineering.

Just picked up my '22 GV70 today - traded in my 2018 G80 3.3 Sport HTRAC. Had to wait almost two months for the spec I wanted (3.5 Sport Prestige in Vik Black with Obsidian/Alcantera Black interior) What an amazing upgrade. No regrets. Love this new vehicle.
I have to admit I've watched this episode more than a dozen times, and eventually, I took delivery of a Muna GV70 3.5 last week! Great presentation!

............ Wow and your un-educated judgement getting the Muna shows you are on the other side of the Moon-a! like me had to my gv70 towed to the service department and was out of said vehicle for more than a month. The New car threw a valve and left me stranded!.

Beautiful inside and out. The oval theme inside sets it apart from other interiors, and those split headlights are money. I have a 2022 stinger GT1. If I was looking SUV / Crossover instead of sedan, this one would be the one.

I've had one now for a month. It's great. No it is not as rigid and sporty as the BMW or GLC but is far more luxurious. Every thing is beautiful inside and out. Ride quality is very good. V6 is smooth and powerful.

I love mine ! I have the same one shown here just in black and it turns heads everywhere. It’s quick enough and comfortable enough for cruising. Nothing against the Germans they are beautiful cars but I drove the Q5 before this one and have to say Genesis stomps the competition but again Audi is amazing. I am definitely a big Genesis fan now 🔥🔥🔥

The luxury expression & presentation on the road & parking of this car is more than all the German, American & Japanese Cars
A simple x7 with an M package will eat this car alive. I'm not saying that it's a bad car, but trust me, it ain't no German. I used to shit on German cars because of reliability, until I got in an accident in a German car and a Japanese car and then Korean. I found out where the money goes and are the reliability headaches worth it. German cars are built like a tank, nothing compares to it.

Koreans are developing only on the Technology of these two !! Ofcourse, Koreans are taking lead, but they should not forget the copying or following reference !! Very important is Koreans understood the Technology in basic details !! That's appreciated !!
My latest observation is...Koreans are taking lead in Auto Designing Specially Hyundai, Kia & Genesis !! Ofcourse.. Genesis is premium segment of Hyundai itself !!

Great video! I own a 2022 G70 Sport Prestige. I love the handling of my car. The GV70 is an excellent SUV that I would have gotten if I needed a big vehicle. Being one of the few Genesis on the road is fantastic.

Its funny too, People are quick to talk smack about manufacturers "Copying" the look and what not when in no way do most of these people that complain have Bentley buying money. I am grateful that I will be able to buy this in my late 20's and afford it. Can't wait for my lease to be over in 2 years. If the G70 Shooting Brake comes to the states then its gonna be a hard choice for me to make. That wagon is the best looking wagon I've seen since the Merc AMG
I just bough this GV70 Trim for my daily driver. Traded an AMG43 I was using to commute. No regrets, this thing is amazing! A note for tall guys as this was briefly mentioned in the video. I am 6'3" and 280lbs. I fit great. Very often my shoulder is up against the B pillar and my knee rests on the edge of the centre console. Not the case in the GV70!
Had mine for 3 weeks and love it. Traded my 2019 Q8 in on it. It's a lot smaller but the ride is way better. The one thing my Q8 was missing even though it was a loaded prestige was air suspension and I was never impressed with the non air version I had. It was also $89,900 usd.
I have owned some of the "finest" luxury cars money can buy. My 2017 silver G90 Genesis beats them all. The Genesis automobiles are a huge value for the price. By the way, I bought a 10 year Platinum factory warranty that is transferable and covers more than you can imagine for just $2,400. Try getting that with the German or British competition. You can't. I have a feeling that these cars will be very reliable and I intend to hold on to this car for at least 8 years. This way it will still be under warranty when I sell it which will make it more desirable for the next buyer.
I have fallen in loveeee with this beauty! I’ll definitely be getting this once I get my engineering career going lol hopefully one day I can work for Genesis.

Was thinking about getting GV70 over Infinity QX55 but after seeing both of your reviews, i took the GV70. Yeah, if you don't care about heritage and ultra-high performance, then the GV70 is an excellent premium compact SUV for a good price!

I bought one of these a month ago and I love it. I'm still finding new little things that just make me laugh and say, "That's just stupid. I love it, but it's stupid". One comment about the video though, he mentions that you might have an issue with your knee hitting the center console if your 6 foot or over. I'm an abnormally large human at 6'10" and about 300 pounds and I can say from experience I fit into and am more comfortable in this car than anything else it's competing against. My head actually touched the ceiling of 2 other cars I looked at, I couldn't sit up straight in a Toyota highlander unless the sun roof was open, which made the salesman laugh. It took a little adjusting to get comfy but once I did I was in love with my GV70. It's always good to test it out first, but unless you're one of the very few people larger than I am you shouldn't have any issues fitting into this car.

Give me this, but with 3 rows. The design touches, the sportiness, the lighting, etc, its awesome. I know there is the GV80, but there are choices that were made that I am not a fan of. Also, there are choice that they dont include, that I wish they had. For example, I love the blacked out look of the GV70, but the 80 is all chrome. If Genesis gave me this GV70, but with a 3rd row, it would be an instant buy. I guess I will have to see what they do with the 2022 GV80.
Put a Mercedes badge on it and ppl will say "it's really 100k" but since it's Gensis, they down play it was a Hyundai car. But no one says, a audi is Volkswagen car

Well one reason they say that is that for 2021 this brand came in near last place in reliability ratings. So theyre selling expensive junk. It looks good but it's good looking junk.

The interior is gorgeous, but I have always felt something is off for me.
When you mentioned that they want to appeal more to women, it became obvious that it leans feminine.
After all, the majority of cuv drivers are women.
No other reviewers have mentioned that.
Not connecting with it emotionally as much as the gv80, but much respect to its design dna.

I got the g70 prestige 2021 and I love it, the 2022 models definitely have some nice toys and they expanded on some past features for quality of life

I am not in the market for this ride. I have no idea why I have looked @ so many different reviews on the Genesis GV70. I do like that he started his interior review from the boot of the SUV. I have never seen that before. Usually the interior review is started in the front seats. Idky. This review was a refreshing change.

I bought my GV 70 sports prestige package 3.5T three days ago (uyuni White with red/black interior… Absolutely love it, a work of art!). I think the white makes the wheels look even better. Between the style, tech, warranty, comfort and performance… I’m on board!

Always love your reviews and have loved the GV70 since it's introduction. The Porsche 928 backend did not get passed me and I'm not sure I like it. However, I do love the interior style/design which is reason enough for me to go with this baby. I do love that you don't have to touch the infotainment screen (I don't care for all the fingerprints). She is seriously one sexy beast!
My biggest zonk is the rear lower pan. I just dont like it. However, it's kind of like outside Christmas decorations. Once you're in the house, you don't see them 😂
@@robertmurdock7530 🤣I agree. I actually test drove over the weekend and went with something else. I was so set on it, but turns out, it just wasn't for me.
We had to go to Salt Lake City to get ours in the color and trim we wanted because Colorado Springs Genesis never called us back after a month. We love the car and immediately drove it back to Colorado Springs with great fuel economy from the 2.5 liter engine. Many people have admired our car and have asked many questions about it. Fit and finish is excellent with no rattles or squeaks at all but be prepared for the experience with this machine!

Very nice review, the GV70 is "money". Took a test drive (3.5 Sport Prestige, Uyuni white on red/charcoal), traded my Infiniti Q50 Red Sport on the spot. Watch out Deutschland, Genesis is serious..................

Thx, drove it yesterday. Inventory is tight, very HIGH contender. I just have to find the configuration I want. I drive a Q5- which is a total joke after driving this beauty. The car I drive was green matte paint, which apparently can never go in a car wash, beautiful, but not practical finish.

Just like how you appreciate Genesis as the underdog i appreciate you, but find your niche whether it be (funny) (top notch video production) (gimmicks) (foolishness) or (combination of all with a duo (a friend))
Top model in USA is called the Sport Prestige and gets Nappa leather seats with suede inserts. The quilted leather is the next lower model. Seems backwards since suede seats in the past were much cheaper than leather. Feels nice when sitting on it but no idea how it would feel when you first get in the car when it's very hot from being in the sun.
Man I was considering this car but after seeing your review, it’s a definite contender!
