@@unicornburger16 that's fair, but I'm not sure it makes a big difference. Light brother might have helped with the gift to see what humanity would make with it, but Dark brother would have done it purely to see it get out of hand.

It was the gift of Destruction (because you also see folks shooting arrows and such). So humanity has the 4 gits, as Qrow said back in V4, of Creation, Destruction, Knowledge and Choice. Creation and Knowledge comes from the God of Light, Destruction and Choice come from the God of Darkness. So humanity used his gift of Choice and Destruction against him.

Late but: This is also the reason why silver eyes are THAT dangerous for Cinder! Salem told her in S4E1, that she is vulnerable against Ruby BECAUSE of the Maiden's powers. The Magic they can wield comes from the Dark Brother, but the Silver Eyes come from the God of Light! And Old Brighty OWNED his younger brother! Both in this episode and according to Crow's story in S4E8, when he gave the GoD a chance to help and work together with him for once.

there's a bit of a theme around bad parents in this show. Jaques, Raven, now Ozpin. The brother gods leaving in a huff when Salem defies them, leaving behind the Grimm spawning pools, an immortal being looking for revenge, and a ridiculous quest to unite humanity or have the world be destroyed, when the gods can't be bothered to manage it themselves.

    • @elecferret

Salem was right about one thing -- they weren't really true gods in the way humanity likes to think of. They could be lied to, manipulated, and made a TON of awful or at in the absolute best case, morally empty decisions, then they ditched the planet and yeeted themselves off to space.
God of Light just straight-up looked aside and let his brother destroy all of humanity because they might be manipulated by Salem? Yeah. Good 'experiment' bro.
I get the feeling that further down the line, if (almost certainly WHEN) these 'gods' return, they're still not going to quite be what Jinn says they are.

You gotta consider many people have died and suffered fighting under the assumption of eventually winning against Salem. Then most huntsman fight believing they're keeping peace and people safe with no idea of the losing battle going on in the background. Everything they've lost was for a lie, when they coulda just passed on the burden to the future and live on with their lives like Yang suggests, wouldn't happen in their life time, or like Raven does.

    • @TheRealRightPrice
      @TheRealRightPrice 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@sassui90 No huntsman/huntress ever would have gotten into their profession with the expectation that they were going to end the threat of the grimm to the world, that would be like someone becoming a cop thinking they were going to end crime worldwide. They all went into it knowing that the grimm would still be a fact of life long after they died.
The losing battle in the background? Ozma has been winning the battle in the background for thousands of years, the fact that the world still exists is proof that he's always won. The victories might have been painful and costly sure but even the fall of beacon and the death of his Ozpin incarnation was a victory for him, since the primary purpose of the academy was as a defensive measure for the relic of choice. The entire school and all it's students and teachers could have been killed and so long as Salem didn't get the relic it would have still been a strategic victory for Ozma.
Yang's suggestion of passing on the burden to the future and living their lives was stupid and nonsensical as the grimm are drawn to the relics, which she seemed to have forgotten about pretty damn quickly. If they had dropped the relic into the well like she suggested then the grimm would have found it in short order and it would be in Salem's possession shortly thereafter.

    • @sassui90
      @sassui90 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@TheRealRightPrice What are you talking about? "No huntsman ever" so you think Qrow joined Oz's for the fun of it? cause it sure seemed to me he did believe so, among many others, Ironwood? Raven? Lionhart? list goes on.
Saying Oz's winning specially for that reason is the equivalent of someone saying they beat someone's fist up with their face... Im not sure in what world the school falling, city overrun, people including himself dying and most of all communications cut is considered winning but ok. The main 2 reasons she didn't obtain it was 1 Ruby, 2 Oz's design of the vault. And that's ignoring they almost got Haven's relic, while turning Oz's closest people against each other.
Well, ignoring the fact Yang wasn't in her right mind at the time of saying that, it DOES makes sense because yes the Grimm are attracted to it but you're assuming she has some sort of telepathy or hive mind with the grimm, doesn't means Salem will instantly know this even if they were to find it, the proof is that she has to use the Palantir grimm to communicate through long distances.

    • @TheRealRightPrice
      @TheRealRightPrice 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@sassui90 Who exactly "died and suffered fighting under the assumption of eventually wining against Salem?" Summer, Qrow, Raven, Tai, Ironwood, Glynda, Lionheart? When did we hear any of them get told told by Ozpin that their objective was to "win against Salem"? For that matter what does "win against Salem" actually mean, as in what are the conditions that constitute "wining"? Did Ozpin ever tell Qrow and Raven that if they worked for him then they would specifically "kill" or "destroy" Salem, and that they would do so in their life times? I don't recall Ozpin ever telling any of the RWBY or JNPR kids that their aim was to kill or destroy Salem.
With my "no huntsman ever" comment I was stating that as far as anyone living on the world of Remnant of Remnant is concerned the Grimm are a fact of life, have plagued the world forever, and they aren't going anywhere. In such a world people get into the profession of huntsmen, meaning a life of risking horrible death protecting others, for a variety of reasons. However, no one (who isn't some form of delusional) would go into such a profession expecting that they themselves were going to personally end the threat of the Grimm forever. They would all understand that the Grimm were around long before they were born and would still be around long after they died. As such, none of the RWBY/JNPR/Oscar characters signed onto being huntsmen/huntresses because they thought they were going to rid the world of Grimm. So, once they learned that there's an ancient evil woman who controls the Grimm and has not be killed or destroyed in after uncountable millennia, a woman who had nothing to do with their individual reasons for becoming huntsmen, why do they suddenly assume that THEY are the ones who are going to finally kill her? Ozpin only told them that the plan was to stop Salem's agents from getting the relic of choice and then to get it to safety in Atlas, that's it. It's not his fault that they wrongly assumed they were going to kill/destroy Salem, and assumed he had a plan to do so. Her being immortal is irrelevant for what they signed up for, both when they signed up to be huntsmen and when they signed up to help Ozpin protect the relic of choice. I'm especially considering Oscars sentiment expressed in Volume 6 chapter 5, "We signed up to try and save the world, not just delay the inevitable."
The school falling, city overrun, people including himself dying and most of all communications cut is a win because all of those are secondary concerns, bonus objectives if you will. The school exists primarily as one of several layers of defense for the relic of choice. Everything else is ultimately irrelevant in the face of keeping the relics separate and secure. At the end of the day the relic of choice is still secure and out of Salem's hands and that's the most important thing. It's a victory for him because ultimately pretty much everything and everyone is expendable in the cause of keeping Salem from obtaining and bringing together the relics, which would surely mean the total destruction of the world at the hands of the gods.
I assume that Salem has some sort of telepathic connection to Grimm because she has been shown to control them without using vocalizing commands, as if they are simply responding to her unspoken will.

And this is the episode that made Ozpin and Salem my favorite characters and also made me start hoping that somehow, Ozpin and Salem's relationship is how they defeat her. After all, it's what started all this, it's only fitting that it helps end it. Since it pretty much confirmed that the original maidens were their children, perhaps part of Ozpin's curse was also inherited, and that's why the maidens' magic goes from host to host? Or maybe he did give four young women powers after they helped get him out of his depression, perhaps reminding him of his four daughters, and they're how he came up with the idea to give the maidens his magic in thanks. One of my biggest questions about the reincarnation thing is, does Ozpin keep his original semblance(if he had one), or does he use the semblance of his current carnation? Does he keep the semblances of his old lives? After all, the souls start separate before merging into one, so how does that work? The gods did also tell Salem how to remove her immortality, by learning the value of both life and death, she would be able to rest. But she instead kept trying to spite them, leading an army to try to kill them. Yeah, they definitely could have done something else, but Salem was also doing everything wrong. But all this adds complexities to both Ozpin and Salem that I love. (I also kinda ship them, but not as they *are* together more like I wish they were *still* together having lived together and changed for the better) but Ozpin doesn't control who his soul goes to, I'm sure many times he got reincarnated into the body of someone who already had a family, which kinda sucks cause it means he's likely lost many families, and I'm sure there's been at least one time his soul entered a woman's body, which must have been weird. The God of Light was trying to follow rules he and the God of Darkness created together, one of which is not to disrupt the balance of life and death. The god of darkness didn't really care for the rules, and was just going to do whatever he looked (as he said) but after hearing Salem lied to him because GoL wouldn't do it he realized Salem was manipulating him to bring Ozma back, she didn't actually believe only he could do it, like she had told him. They punished her for trying to manipulate them, and when the GoD destroyed humanity, GoL wanted to give humanity a second chance he knew eventually they'd evolve back into existence, so he gave Ozma the chance to help them. I don't think the reincarnation was meant to be punishment for Ozma, but it turned into one. Unlike Salem, Ozma didn't do anything wrong and i believe the GoL wanted to ensure Ozma didn't have to go through what Salem did, what he didn't count on was Ozma and Salem doing everything they did. Just my thoughts on this episode.

Yang doesnt know her Mom is the Maiden. Raven opened the door before Yang arrived, and didn't use her Maiden powers after. So Yang may believe Vernal opened the door before she was killed. She may assume Raven got the powers at that point, but so can the others when the heard Vernal was dead. She did not mention talking to Raven. That's fair critique, though I imagine she was pretty raw emotionally, when he got back to the surface.

The relics were not used to create humanity, instead they were given to Ozma to guide the new humanity that would eventually evolve. It is assumed humanity evolved naturally between the age of old humans and when Ozma was brought back. Instead of the gods guiding humanities evolution, it occurred independently from any diety which is why humans cannot use magic and have to rely on dust, only having semblances. Assuming the time for evolution to occur at such a distinct level, Salem was most probably alone on remnant for many millions of years between the old humans destruction and eventual occurrence of the remnant humans and faunus. As for Ozma, his soul was assimilated into a fully grown adult for his first reincarnation, the rest is when he dies.

One of those tales told the story about Salem, but it ended at "and they lived happily ever after" and didn't continue with the rest of the story. The fairy tales also explain other things like the mythical(??) origins of the Faunus, etc.

We didn't lie to you that Cinder was dead; we simply didn't correct you when you assumed Cinder was dead. Some consider that a "lie of omission", which I've never really felt was legitimate, but it's very similar to what Ozpin was doing with what he was telling the team. Make your own decision.
When Ozpin asked Pyrrha about her favorite fairy tales before telling her about the Maidens, one tale that Pyrrha mentioned was "The Girl In The Tower."
No one ever said that the Gods of Light and Darkness aren't complete a-holes.
This story (which has been around from the earliest days of RWBY) was known as the Trials of Salem the Witch.
I think the proper term for your condition at this time is "gob-smacked." At least, that was my condition after watching these episodes.
My head canon is that the children probably died during the battle between Ozma and Salem. Too much of the story of the Four Maidens, and even Ozpin's own version of the story he gave us in V5C7, say that the old wizard (who we now know was an earlier Ozpin reincarnation) used his magic to give the Maidens their magic, and everything about it seems to say that it happened long after humanity returned to Remnant. But since the children already were showing that they had their own magic, that means that the original Maidens didn't have magic, and so the Maidens weren't the children.

There is debate in the community over whether Salem and Oz’s children are the maidens or merely the inspiration for the maidens…
From the show’s lore it should be obvious they are the inspiration for, since Oz himself stated he used his magic to gift the maidens with magic.
But the flip side says he was speaking metaphorically and by having children he “ gifted them with his magic”
It’s an interesting debate to say the least.

Melissa Hime, pay attention to the specific wording of the gods to Salem, "So long as this world turns you shall walk it's face." Now think about what the god of light told Ozma would happen when the relics are brought together, the gods would be summoned back to judge humanity, and if humanity is not united and fails the gods judgement then the world of Remnant would be "wiped from existence". Now you might be able to deduce what Salem's ultimate goal is, since she's actively working to both collect the relics together and prevent the people of the world from being peacefully united.

You could say the same thing about Salem. In many ways from our perspective, Cinder has been written as the main villain of the show partially because she's been written as one of the main *_characters_* throughout pretty much the entire series, being the mastermind behind many of the show's most significant events.

As far as how humanity seemingly came back to Remnant, I dare say it was through good 'ole EVOLUTION! Salem mentions in episode 1 of RWBY that man was "born from dust" which points towards the fact that this iteration of humanity was born from the primordial dust of their ancestors and eventually became what you see in the show now. The fact that Faunus are also stated to be just as old as the current version of humanity points towards the fact that clearly there were some evolutionary changes that occurred. Of course, Faunus and humans are genetically similar enough to interbreed with the Faunus trait being dominant so it's also possible that something else is going on there that we simply don't know but regardless we have good 'ole evolution to thank for current humanity.

“I’ve made more mistakes than any man, woman and child on this planet.” - Professor Ozpin, Volume 1 Chapter 10
Now you have the true context of that statement.
This also shows that Ozpin did not choose the soul he was bonded with: people were giving him a lot of crap for that when he first bonded with Oscar in V4; it’s clear now he never has had any choice in the matter.
The four kids were all girls, and they could use magic. And yes, they were all killed. So are they the first maidens? There’s a lot of debate about that, but I think they are and that’s how their powers began passing to different hosts. You can believe what you want, but I see too much evidence supporting it to believe anything else.
You did miss one crucial line of dialogue the gods said to Salem (you probably as it during rewatch): “You must learn the importance of life and death. Only then, may you rest.”
I know you’re ahead - I see you’re on 7x10 and 7x11 on Patreon, and this particular batch got unblocked today. Nice RWBY double whammy: because, if no one told you, today (the date when this comment posted) would’ve been Monty Oum’s birthday.
It’s such a crime that the most important person to the show doesn’t get to see all the things it’s done in the last six years.

There was mankind made by the gods, and mankind born from dust presumably naturally. I do recommend watching previous vols after this. A couple interesting details:
There was 1 question already used after 100 years, meaning someone in their lifetime used it before.
The effect from the fountain of life is similar to aura, which works similarly too by preserving the user to a lesser extent.
The oriental dragons are usually associated to positivity, light, balance, creation and preservation, while in the west dragons are usually associated with destruction, evil, chaos, darkness and negativity.
The Gods seem to switch positions for a bit there, seem to not agree entirely on their choices, and both make mistakes, including making Salem and Oz immortal. They both end up as infinite beings living in different ways, affecting, relying and using people in their own way. Long enough that stories might have been made of them during that time "Even the craziest fairy tales come from somewhere"
Salem resenting everything and everyone for the life she got, and Ozpin tasked with essentially world peace... trapped in an "impossible war against Salem" in Raven's words, and giving people hope that he himself is desperately clinging to, even if it's through lying, omission or fighting. But now the mirrors are shattered, illusion's over and the gravity of reality kicks in like everything was for nothing. The moon (or dream) was shattered, humanity turned to dust, and the world left a remnant of what it was and people left with nothing but a semblance of the magic they once had. Why i love this show.

Oz: What's your favorite fairy tale?
Pyrrha: "The one about the girl in the tower, and the two brothers, and..."
"They've done me wrong a few times guys..."
    Yeah. We know.
Volume 3, need I say more?
There is SO MUCH that I wish that I could tell you as well...but I can't because of the massive spoilers that such information would reveal...
What I can say. Volume 6 starts off intense (with this HUGE reveal), and doesn't slow down, nor does it let up in terms of the emotional rollercoaster that it has become.
Volume 7 is intense, but you'll finally get to see what life is like in Atlas and Mantle. (Besides the little snippets in Volume 4 before Weiss left her home).
    Volume 8...you're going to love and hate it. I can't say more. I wish I could...but I can't.
Also, if you have any questions (lore-wise) related to what is revealed, feel free to ask. I'll answer what I can without spoilers, and if the answers would have spoilers, I'll let you know that those questions will be answered by something later in the series, so at least you know that you'll get the answer in due time.
Now, that you've reached this point, I also have something of a question for you.
Did you notice Oscar's reflection back in Volume 4? I missed it too the first time I was watching the series, but to make it easier on you to watch it again, here's a clip of that scene. Look carefully at Oscar's shirt (on him), then pause it at the second time you see his reflection in the mirror (not the first). If you look carefully, you'll notice something is... off...about his reflection (specifically revealed by the location of his pocket on his shirt).
    th-cam.com/video/yxClS3ldXCs/w-d-xo.html
As for who the old lady is, all I can tell you (because spoilers) is that her name is Maria Calavera.
"That looked like Roman's hat" because it was his hat.
Also, the woman walking down the road as it blows past her...well... it's Cinder. (You found out this episode that she's still alive, so I can say her name here).
"Who is this?" referring to the blonde woman in front of the statue... Spoilers. Well...you'll get your answer sooner rather than later. Just...watch.
Also, your boy, and everyone's favorite Drunk Uncle, Qrow, is voiced by Vic Mignogna, a particularly famous voice actor, known most for his role voicing Edward Elric in Full Metal Alchemist, but he has done MANY voices for anime dubs over his career, including Brolly (from Dragonball Z Movie 8 & 10), Kugaji (from Saiyuki) and many others.
In regards to Lil Miss Malachite's reference to 'making the spiders work for her', she is referring to her control over the information network within the city, and beyond, as everyone in the tavern/bar, is one of her 'employees'.
Jinn (modeled after the Djinn of Arabian myth), is a nigh omnipotent entity. In this case, the scope of her nigh-omnipotent powers relates to knowledge, as she has explained. But rather than tell, she can show, and when she is summoned, as you saw, time literally ceases to pass except for those recognized as her 'summoner', but only the one who spoke her name can ask the question.
Reality is her plaything, and she can weave and sculpt it to reveal the answer to the question when needed, though everything returns to normal as it was when she is done.
The catch, you must be SPECIFIC in your question, and she is bound to that same specificity in her answers, so long as what she reveals is an answer to the question at hand. Meaning, you should take her words literally, but pay very careful attention to the wording of both the questions, and her answers.
Edit: Adding additional comments and responses for Episode 3 and post-episode 2.
Jinn the Genie...well...actually... yes she is. All four of the spirits of the Relics are, and each has their own...troublesome...personality and quirks. (As of Volume 8, we have only seen two of them though).
Also, with the story, and the knowledge that The Wizard of Ozpin was hiding, it was most definitely world-changing.
You will not be the same person coming out of this episode, that you were before watching it.
The knowledge that he was hiding, as you (now) know as well, is certainly something that will change your perspective of the entire series, from beginning to end.
With this information now in hand, I'd like to take a moment to direct your attention back to the introduction of RWBY Volume 1, Episode 1. The dialogue narration in the beginning, as that dialogue too, shall take on a whole new meaning as a dialogue between Salem and Ozma (Ozpin)
There are still more major reveals coming in the remainder of this volume, as well as the two you have yet to watch. You will certainly be ready to watch RWBY Volume 9 with us when it starts later this year.
There IS a theory that Ozma (or one of his incarnations) was the First King of Vale, and that he used the Sword of Destruction in the Great War, in addition to his Magic, while also wearing the Crown of Choice.
This has not yet been confirmed (or refuted) in the series itself.
As for the four kids, they are not the original Four Maidens, but it is entirely plausible that the original four maidens reminded Oz of his own children while they were visiting him, and that may have helped push him towards bestowing them with his magic.
Oz: "How can I destroy Salem?"
    Jinn: "You can't"
Specifics are Important here. The question wasn't "How can Salem be Stopped?" but rather Oz asking specifically how he can destroy Salem, to which Jinn told him the truth, as per her purpose.
    Oz can't destroy Salem.
Salem does not necessarily need to be destroyed in order to be stopped, and I do have my own personal theories related to how the finale of the series is going to be handled. Can't go into detail though because of the massive spoilers for Volume 6 - 8.
Finally, regarding how Humanity came to be once more in the world, I'd suggest looking back to the very beginning of the World of Remnant, here: th-cam.com/video/ts106QFjF3k/w-d-xo.html

Here is the thing that a lot of "Ozpin did nothing wrong" folks miss: Despite the colorful outfits, Team RWBY and the rest are Essentially Solders. Solders understand that they might not know the "big picture" but still may be called upon to sacrifice their lives to achieve a victory. They accept this provided that their superiors understand and appreciate this Sacrifice and treat it with the respect it deserves by not throwing away their lives and not treating them like disposable cannon fodder. Trust is a two way street between the solder and the leader: I follow you even if it means my life, but I will trust that you will do everything not to waste that life away. Ozpin broke that trust by repeatedly lying (saying all the questions were already used up) and by hiding vital information from the team that ultimately jeopardizes their lives (not telling them about the relics being attractive to the Grimm and that Salem is immortal).
The revelation that Salem is immortal and can not be destroyed basically meant that nothing they were doing was going to lead them to victory. They were fighting a war with no chance of winning. The best Ozpin could do is delay Salem and fight her to a stalemate. While you can argue if that's a good strategy or not, the truth is Team RWBY had every right to know what they were getting into. Ozpin was using them like cannon fodder, disposable pawns like their parents before them (Team STRQ). He might have thought this was OK because ultimately he is fighting on the side of good, but that is a very Shitty and cynical way to do things and the Girls deserve better. For someone who is Big on Choice, Ozpin is an absolute Hypocrite because there can be NO choice if one does not know the whole picture. Selectively hiding and actively lying to the people who you are asking to trust you is a sure way to guarantee that they will not trust anything you say. No one was asking Ozpin to spill his guts about his and Salem's backstory. But there was no reason for him not to be upfront about the Relic or lie about the questions being used up. Team RWBY was in this with him and they deserved to know the Truth on both counts, but simply was not willing to trust them the way they trusted him, and that was his downfall.

I get it, but still I'm here on Oz's side. Yes he lied about relics and immortal enemy, but what else he should do? Tell everybody that he has no plan? He could've told. And maybe he did. Not in that era, but He might've tried.

Raven believes (or rationalizes) that Ozpin basically manipulated team STRQ into joining his (now confirmed) impossible war against Salem. And in a way, she might not be wrong. They accepted the power and the responsibility based on "false" pretenses and were not fully aware of what they were getting into. It is very much possible that if Raven knew that Salem could not be defeated, she would not have accepted that power nor joined Ozpin. She is not one for making powerful enemies. Ozpin didn't tell Team STRQ what they were getting into when he recruited them (same with team RWBY). He, again, just used them until they were not useful anymore and then moved on to the next team.

Humanity's return is likely like this. Mind you it's theory. Salem said in her opening narration that man was born from Dust. This is likely the dust of those left behind from being wiped out. The God of light restored them to give them a second chance. But originally they were made by light and dark. Now without magic as darkness gave it to them. All that remains is aura and a Semblance of that former magic. Thus the name. Dust itself Is likely what became of the of the lost magic. As magic exists as elements in it's pure form as seen with the maidens. Faunus likewise made in the image of the gods I think we're made by light as an added challenge to see if humanity can get along with an added similar but different species.

The treatment of Salem by the gods was cruel and unnecessary, but if you really look at it from their perspective, it does make sense.
If Salem got away with tricking the gods, insulting them, turning them against each other, what’s to stop other humans from trying the same? They had to “maintain order” by making her an example. By bestowing a cruel and unbreakable punishment on her.
Of course, their actions only led to what they were trying to prevent-a human rebellion-but I can still see why they did it. There’s also the fact that they are not mortal. They have never lost a loved one like all mortals do. They may claim they understand Salem’s grief, but they do not, and they never will.

at 51:15, Salem's eyes are partially changed back. The irises are still red but the whites are now white. Love is counteracting the pool of annihilation. She is learning the value of Life and Death. But when she catches Ozma taking the kids, they are back to black. I'm pretty sure that the kids died in that battle. Oz sacrificed a big portion of his power to four women, who (at least IMO) reminded him of his daughters. I assume that this is why the power seeks a new host, since that what Oz does after death.

One more thing: Salem is stronger than Oz and the four maidens combined.

Finally I can say what I've been wanting to say, but couldn't for spoiler reasons. I never did, and still do not, trust Ozpin. When he said, 'I have made more mistakes than any man, woman and child on this planet', I began to distrust him. At the time I thought that was strange. How could anyone who made so many mistakes be given such an important position? I figured he greased the right palms, which made me distrust him. When I found out he created the academies I neither liked nor distrusted him. He put CHILDREN in harms way. I know they WANT to become Huntspeople, but they aren't yet. And they are NO match for Salem and her people, and yet he didn't think twice about putting them right on top of the relics he KNEW she wanted.
As for where we are now there's plenty of blame to go around. Ozpin/Ozma joined her in her crusade to control humanity. Then he turned on her. Not only that but he was going to leave with the children! How did he think that was going to go?
Salem, whom I actually feel somewhat sorry for now, is also to blame. Not because she fooled the gods though. I mean come on. If God, or gods, lived with us as they did with her and humanity, how many of you wouldn't try what she did? Out of all those who say they wouldn't I would say to 90% of them their flat out liars. Then she lost not just one time, but she had to watch him die THREE times. Now taking it out on humanity, that's wrong, I'm not behind that. The problem is, as long as there is Remnant, she will walk it's face. If she can bring the relics together and call the gods, then Remnant will be destroyed along with all of humanity, and she can, finally, die. At least that's the assumption I think she's going with.
The god of darkness gets blame because he did what he and his brother swore not to do. Or rather he didn't do what he and his brother swore to do, which was keep the balance.
But the god of light gets blame as well, and heres what a lot of people seem to miss. The god of light said that there was supposed to be a balance so he could not bring Ozma back to her. Then he turns around and NOT ONLY brings Ozma back, but give BOTH Ozma AND Salem immortality! AFTER denying her AND chastising his brother for breaking the rules of life and death.
So Ozpin/Ozma has lied to everyone from the time he came back. He is to blame for so much here. I would never follow, nor trust, Salem. But I wouldn't follow, or trust, Ozpin either. Raven's position makes so much sense now if you think about it. How can you defeat an immortal with magical powers and control of the grim?
One caveat. He asked Jinn, how do I destroy Salem.. I ..Maybe HE can't. But maybe someone else can. I think a better question would be, How can Salem be defeated. Not killed, not destroyed, but defeated.
So that's my 2 cents. Okay, my few thousand, but there you are.

The huntsman academies, I mean what the heck do you want from Ozpin?
What you are saying doesnt make sense? That they arent yet? Well thats why the academies exist?
They are huntsmen in training, they gotta learn to fight somehow.
That aside what are you proposing, Ozpin should do absolutely nothing, roll over and let Salem kill out humanity? I mean you gotta try to do something, doing nothing and giving up and dying isnt gonna do any good.
      I cant understand your thinking?
Also on the Jinn question I feel like it would be kinda stupid if thats the route the writers were going for, and I think they know that, I’d be pissed if it was.
