Fun Fact: Remember how whenever a prominent religion is founded there's the statement "You can make a religion out this"? Remember how at the part discussing the French Revolution he goes "You can make a religion out of this... No, don't."?
That because Robespierre tried to make his own religion during the French Revolution called "The Cult of Reason" and it sort of died with him.

    • @Tsurf

IIRC wasn't one of the things with The Cult of Reason making the measurements of time based on 10 instead of 12? Like 100 seconds into a minute, and a hundred minutes in an hour, with 20 hours in a day and 10 days in a week?

Please please PLEASE let's not do that! It's worked out horribly every other time people thought they had answers and said 'we could make a religion out of this'. For once the answers are based in reality, magic and magical beings are absent and we seem to be on the right path to understanding things. Let's let those who are willing to accept things without reason and defend them despite reason fly that flag. Allow the growth of humanity to continue unretarded, please. Just this once... Religion has had its chance from the dawn of time. Let us see where reality can take us! I cannot imagine anyone wanting to kill their neighbor because the elements were made by physical processes. We know they will when they think their God created them for them alone. Science continues because it knows it doesn't have all the answers... But religion... Religion has no answers!

The first part is easy to explain. Theres no space, theres no time. Imagine a bowl filled with water in the freezer. Let's say the bowl is the blueprint of the universe. It's full already of something so you can't do anything with it. Space is then irrelvent. In 5 min or 5 years it's still gonna be full. Time also become irrelevent in the explanation. You can't move anything before, now or later because everything is full and in place. Time and space are irrelevent because the world is already full forever... until it get's emptier. Space allows lifeform to emerge. Lifeforms spend time. They both finally get a meaning.

    • @HollowGolem

Like turning around and all of a sudden being able to see for millions of miles as clear as a 4k tv and when you can see all the connections (major and minor ones) you get perspective. You can see the animal for what it is and therefore gain a much deeper understanding of mankind and the world we live in.
Like if there was a hallway of doors 1 after another opening up at the same time.
These videos are a really great primer for going back and filling in some details here and there. Adding meat to the bones already built by the video.

I did my National Geographic dna and found out that all humans came from Africa. Eventually some people headed to Egypt, Jerusalem, etc. There, humans learned to farm because before that we were hunters. Eventually the Eurasians (Europeans and Asian) headed to turkey. The ice age was still going on and also all the contingents were all connected. This happened about 70,000 years ago. Then some people traveled to Asia and some went to Europe. Of course then some people also migrated to the Americas and the other continents. Over time, our dna mutated and that’s why people are so different. Also, most of us humans have Neanderthal dna. A very small percentage. About 7,000 years ago, everyone had brown eyes but there was another mutation and some people now have blue eyes, both white and black humans. Very interesting.

The guy that put this together put some work in.. He didn't put alot of spin on it either, pretty strait forward not lingering on one part too long. Everyone that watches this will walk away a little smarter without a doubt...

The thing that makes this video so spectacular is it's completely genuine representation of time. The gaps should be bigger and the fast parts should be faster, but this should give people a real understanding of how long the universe existed (basically forever) and how absolutely tiny everything that humans have ever done has been. Also, how cheap and new your religions are.

13:46 fun fact the king of Mali (who was Islamic) was going to visit the holly city and according to Islam he was also supposed to be very generous so he game everyone a lot of gold on the way, when he did that he caused such bad inflation that he single handedly and unintentionally ruined the economy of the area he traveled through (he did fix it on his return home).

Except that isn't what really happened. The general consensus in the US government was that a spontaneous coal fire caused the Maine to explode. As is true today, the hysteria behind the Maine was caused by sensationalistic journalists. Newspapers were the ones blaming Spain, but the public and rest of the world agreed with the newspapers.
It was pressure from a mislead public and also from the rest of the world at large, that turned the sinking of the Maine into a catalyst for war with Spain.
It is also worth Mentioning that the US did not go to war with Spain because of the Maine. That war was likely to happen regardless. The sinking of the maine was just another straw on the camels back.
Unfortunately Bill Wurtz seems to have the ridiculous anti-America bias that is rampant in the west (and the left) right now. And he takes every opportunity that he can to try to twist information to make America look as bad as he thinks it is.
He's engaging in the same sort of "yellow journalism" that the newspapers did in 1895 during the Maine incident. And you are believing every bit of it.
