    This is so helpful, but above anything I am just so glad to know others have the same thought process. Number 2! I can’t explain enough about how I feel like a failure bc “I don’t get it all done.”

    I’d love a plan for working single parents. It’s OVERWHELMING…all the time. So many tubers are married and stay at home…because parents like me don’t have time and so there’s no content. I have my kids every other week, but both (teenagers) have ADHD. (I’m a high achiever, so didn’t know I had it until they were being evaluated). If anyone has strategies for managing it all, please post.

      That is such a good point! That's exactly why there probably isn't much content like that out there. I have been there personally, and I truly sympathize- it was without a doubt, the most challenging season of my life! I'm in the middle of tweaking a program for BUSY moms with ADHD that can be done at your own pace on your own time and can most definitely help create a plan for this overwhelming season of life- ESPECIALLY as a single parent. I'll definitely announce it on my channel once it becomes available. Godspeed, friend.

      Oh my goodness, that is TOUGH! I am going to spend some time thinking back to my working-single-mom days and put together a video with some practical advice for that particular demographic. I know that would have helped me so much back then to have people giving me tips, advice, or even just understanding/support. My oldest is 20 now, but my older boys were 8 & 3 when my single season started. I was working and going to nursing school, then nurse practitioner school while working nights in ICU (and newly diagnosed with SEVERE ADHD-95th percentile 😭). It was so hard, but looking back, I realize that it was just for a season. Hang in there, mommas ❤️ it really DOES get easier as they get older, I promise. I got through it looking at it just one day at a time- and giving myself LOTS of grace 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

      @@ModernClassicMama wow that's so funny cus I'm actually in the works going to nursing school for LPN but studying my CNA next month.... now you really give me inspiration! And I would love to know any pointers or tricks you have for single parents cus like you said, it ain't easy but it does get easier as they get older... I'm just "patiently" waiting 🤣

      awww! That’s so exciting! You are going to have a wonderful career, and it will all be worth it ❤️ and that’s funny 😂 it’s always wild to me how fast the years pass when some of those days were so long. Keep an eye out for some upcoming videos and God bless you for caregiving and pouring into the lives of not just your babies- but your patients, too! ❤️

    I use the Franklin Covey planner. Good for daily, short term and long term goal setting.

    What if you’ve already been trying to do all of those things but your husband also has ADHD and you have three kids under four and just trying to get these things accomplished is my biggest problem…. Just making this is hard enough… Routines never stick….. I have no support….. should I give up and pick medication? SOS❤

    I struggle with planners because I get distracted and forget to look at them throughout the day. I've switched to digital and digital reminders.

    I'm not a parent(to a human) but I believe I have ADHD. I've been watching lot's of videos about this time management topic and found something I'm going to try: bullet journal alas bujo. How to ADHD has a few videos about it in TH-cam. It was invented by an ADHD brain, so it's not like normal and boring calendars are. You can make it look like your own and forget about having ten different things(notebook, calendar, post its ...) to tell you what to remember. It's all in one kind of deal.

      That's great! I love her channel- I'll have to check out her bujo content. I've tried that once many years ago, and it didn't quite stick for me. But I'd love to hear how she uses it, and I would be open to trying it out again. Sometimes one thing works for a particular season, while some other strategy works better for the next season. Would love to hear how it goes for you. Please keep us posted! And thanks for watching :)

    what can I do to stick with whatever i write in my planner? i do write in it but never follow the plan.

    • @ModernClassicMama
      @ModernClassicMama  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I can relate to that! I've had seasons when I felt a little stuck with tackling my list or schedule. Here are a few things to try: -Only write 3 things in your planner for tomorrow. Pick 3 things that are important but easy to accomplish. Nothing that takes too long or too much energy, because right now, it's about practicing the follow-through.
      -Create a small reward for getting it done.
      -Then last but not least, tell someone that can hold you somewhat accountable. Let them know your plan then ask them if you can check in with them again after you follow through with your schedule.
      And remember, you don't have to be perfect. Just do the next right thing! Good luck!

    I love this video. Do you have an email/Facebook or Instagram account I can talk to you? I'm ADHD raising two autistic/ADHD children and I could use some advice. I will of course pay you for it. Let me know if you are interested!
