The great thing about this project for me , it is the perfect antidote to the vicious, demeaning and humiliating ritual of the many "talent" shows and the despicable, cynical Simon Cowell et al. People from all around the world, with passion and joy for music, send in their often less than perfect videos, and JC patiently and tirelessly figures out their voice and sends them back such a positive and delightful enhancement that i am sure every contributor will hold dear to their heart until their dying days. What a fantastic gift to the contributors (yes even pancake man- especially pancake man) to music and to humanity. Bravo.
I ABSOLUTELY agree with you, and I think Jacob's talent for, like you said, enhancing any given melody comes from the non-result oriented upbringing he had, as he appreciated in Sodajerker's podcast 147: "I think the thing that my mom nailed as a parent is the fact that if a child is creating something, the value of the thing is in the creation, it's not in the result of the creation". It feels like Jacob doesn't believe that such a thing like "out of tune" exists, for anything can be harmonized. Watching this project after hearing that interview leads me to believe that Jacob is teaching us all his mother's lesson, that the value of each of these melodies is in the creation. Even if they're known songs, each rendition is a new version, a new creation, therefore there is no "correction" to be made, either in tuning or rythm, and Jacob treats them all with absolute love and respect, because they deserve it. Music is a beautiful game, and anyone can play it. Thank you for teaching that so clearly, dear Jacob.
btw, and just in case you were wondering, pancake guy is singing Jake's song "Bacon Pancakes" from Adventure Time: th-cam.com/video/rBGBKH6wxk4/w-d-xo.html
Noah hmmm he didn’t leave...maybe you’re thinking of avi kaplan? and as far as talking shit, i think it’s probably best to respect music no matter who or where it comes from. jacob would probably want it that way.
5:24 What Jacob did with Marco Mengato’s rendition of “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”…THERE SIMPLY ARE NO WORDS for that level of dopeness. My favorite of all the #iHarmU snippets so far! (Including my own, lol!)

Wow. This is so kind to include all peoples in harmonization of their songs. Congratulation to open your hart for all of us which are not skilled like you but apreciate and respect you. Greatings from Romania.
Your talent is astonishing incredible for such a young age, best I've seen in my 21 years on earth. Will grow up along side you, creating music which will outstand the worlds music scene for 1000's of years to come generation after generation, millennia after millennia until the world realises you where the talented one. Bravo!
There is so much open hearted respect for all of your “melody donators”... Feels like you are a great person. Not mentioning your ability to work at an incredible speed. Hope you leave some spare time just for yourself.
Soléy May was quite challenging!!! Man... I'm really impressed! Congratulations for your talent! Make good use of it! ...you know, with great powers, comes... Lol
Indeed only those talented few reach star status and that they attained their success through constant practice, skill and effort. Jacob Collier you are the best bro.
0:40 is actually one jacob using a vocal harmoniser i think. He does the same "puuaaah puaaah" percussive vocal tricks live with his vocal harmoniser :3
