great video , my first time watching your vid , from uk , it looks like that ramp needs some ridges on it , does fred ever come up the ramp when people are around ? how long do they actually grow to ? .
Tow driver set up way to close from the start. If he set up where the trucks park he could have pulled the whole mess out with one hookup. Would have pulled at a better angle too.
I agree with you on this. Ive done heavy recovery as well and really dont understand why he took out the rotator, he could have just backed up in front of the Isuzu, used his regular boom with cable extended and pulled him out without all the hoopla. As far as the truck being a total loss, diesels are a little more forgiving than a gas engine. The fuel tank was full, you can see al the fuel on the water surface. Pull the head off the engine and flush the valves with oil. Same for the tranny, drop the pan, flush the system with oil.
@@donsgotmoney The engine isn't the issue, tbh. It's salt water. That's going to mess up computers, sensors and corrode electrical connections wherever they were submerged. It'll cause hassles forever. Not worth the bother trying to save it as a vehicle, better to salvage for mechanical parts that can be properly cleaned.
Bro. Fred is a beast 🤑. And I love this chit homie. I live in North Alabama close to several boat launches. May have to go do a little of this myself 🏁. Always entertained

That's why you're always important to set the emergency brake. And make sure your emergency brake works before you try to launch a trailer. If it's an automatic never rely on the parking gear. And make sure that you have good tires
WHAT!!!! Do you realize the emergency brake only locks the rear wheels? And that the rear wheels are filled with air and float, allowing the tyres to slide down the ramp. Sit in the vehicle with your foot on the brake so the front wheels are locked, or use a chock under the front wheels. And dont back the boat off the trailer if the winch is still attached,,,,,the boat becomes the tow truck ::)
@@enricoderojassarson5596 yes I do realize. I've been back in boats over the past 30 years on bigger, steeper and way more crappier ramps than that and I've never lost a truck or a boat boats.
The guy had a full load in the back of the truck. What a moron. Then with the boat and the trailer I find it hard to believe that people that's too I think it was an insurance job too. Put all that debris in the back just to make it look good

Bro Fred is boss !!! Crazy how good they blend right with the water!!! I have nothing but respect for the croc’s and gators!!! That diver is a snack for Fred !!! Bro Fred has to be atleast ten foot and thousand pounds lol
IDK how many tow cables have you hooked up under water? How long did it take to locate tow points on a vehicle not your own? How long can you hold your breath if you got snagged, slipped, or ran into other unexpected problem while underwater? The guy’s job is underwater recovery, he probably gears up the same way every time. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around. In any event, why is being prepared a bad thing?
I had to hook and haul a suv with a jet ski in the back out of a rolling river as the vehicle was in constant motion down the river completely submerged and slowly succumbing to the current.. i had no gear only a chain tied to a strap . I told the owner .. if you can stand on it i can hook it .. personally i couldnt even see it.. he swam out and stood on the moving vehicle .. so i swam out and dove in it was dificult swimming on my back under water being swept by the currents under the slowly creeping vehicle.. In one shot i hooked it and swam back to shore.. of course that was in NY.. and Freddie was no where near.. lol
I’m just curious as to why so many vehicles seem to end up in the drink at this location. Is it due to just complete incompetence by folks launching their boats or is there issues with the ramp itself that need to be addressed? Thanks for the videos, great and informative stuff. Damn, Fred is huge!

I’ve just retired after 35+ years in the marine industry. Evinrude, OMC ALUMINUM BOAT GROUP, TRITON, GRESTLINER and the electronics side. I’ve towed and launched and retrieved boats from Minnesota to Florida. I can honestly say I have never ever seen so many inept boaters at one launch ramp. No seamanship skills, no ability to secure a boat at a dock except wrap a dock line around a stanchion two or three times. Evidently the marine dealers either don’t educate these knuckleheads or they are typical credit card captains with enough hubris to think they are great skippers. I cannot believe these skippers (they are certainly not Captains) ineptness and poor boat handling and docking. No wonder the show is called the Chit Show.

Freds being a little sus this morning, alfred can you say " Sheeeeeesh"
3/2022…I love FRED. I hope he is okay. Haven’t seen him on your channel in a while!
I haven't seen it mentioned, but I'm curious of how the landscape truck got so damaged in the front and the driver's door before the big tow truck came. Makes me think another tow truck or other truck tried doing the job and failed miserably.
I also find it amazing how many keyboard Commando Towing experts came out of the woodwork to comment on this video.
You should make Fred a camera man, and installed a go-pro on his head........dangger, dangger, dangger mate...."he is friendly"
great video , my first time watching your vid , from uk , it looks like that ramp needs some ridges on it , does fred ever come up the ramp when people are around ? how long do they actually grow to ? .
People no, but a small dog Barking is like the Dinner Bell ! He might make an exception for Alfred.
Wow, what a chit show, the tow truck driver did a great job. 👌
Tow driver set up way to close from the start. If he set up where the trucks park he could have pulled the whole mess out with one hookup. Would have pulled at a better angle too.
He is paid by the hour and it takes him longer to do it that way
And they need a professional diver to go three feet deep in the water.
When I drove a class 8 wrecker, guys that were wreckmaster certified use to tell me that they gets a whole lot of extra money for using that rotator.
Having the rotator was just overkill.
This could have been done quicker and cheaper with a regular recovery truck.
I'm guessing that Rotator is at least $250 p/h more than a regular truck.
4x4 truck maybe 2 trucks tied together and a guy with a swim suit on would just cost a case of beer.
Those trucks don't go on the road for less than 600.00 an hour, and the time starts when they arrive to the call.

@@rvdogfl My thoughts
Love your show,from New Orleans.
Why did bro come in a full scuba diving suit to wade in 3 feet of water
@Antonio Montana I read the reply hoping you had THE answer. And I guess you probably do !
Safety! With a submerged vehicle there is a strong possibility of fluids in the water which could be caustic to the skin. He did have to dive under the truck a little to hook up the J hooks.
It's ramp and quickly goes deep, then a drop-off.
The Full gear is Standard Operating Procedure for any Divers from the Miami/Dade Police to go by.

What a mess at the boat ramp. Do they back in too far? It seems to happen more during low tide times. Damn nice boat!

Great Job Alfred 👍🤟

Owners insurance
Can’t imagine what that tow job+diver cost.
probably few thousands dollars

:)
Rotator Truck - can left and haul very large loads. Cost of truck one million plus and then add chains, tow items, cones, etc. Call out to a scene is a minimum of $900 to $1200 Dollars. :-)
Try about a half million...
I hope you get it on camera the day Fred grabs a hold of someone. 😂
I seriously don't think Fred will do that, he's trained hhimself to stay away from humans, he likes to stay right there where there is "free" food !

Was an air tank really necessary in waist deep water?
IDK how many tow cables have you hooked up under water? How long did it take to locate tow points on a vehicle not your own? How long can you hold your breath if you got snagged, slipped, or ran into other unexpected problem while underwater? The guy’s job is underwater recovery, he probably gears up the same way every time. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around. In any event, why is being prepared a bad thing?
@@seanhenderson6571 Much like you said, The Miami/Dade Police use everything on every dive. It's Standard Operating Procedure. Have a nice Day.
God I miss Dade county. I'm drawn to the ocean; I can't explain it. I love that "tow" truck - that one prints money.
Fred just chilling :)
Sir, To answer you is it just takes one mistake then PANIC ! It's either the slippery ramps, not remembering to take all the straps off the boat, or just backing in to far. All you need to have happen is One mistake and Chit Happens ! :) BTW, Fred is still growing.......
I think the issue with the ramp is the location, Florida............
They go in to deep and the boat lifts the rear of the vehicle, then gravity takes over.
It's a shitty ramp. Too short and steep. Combine that with slippery algae on the waterline and below and it's like a skating rink.
Consider using a Polarized lens for those crocodile recordings.
I think you mean a "Polarizer filter" for those lens. Have a Nice day.
