- Kenyans have expressed concerns over the 94 billion shillings KETRACO - ADANI deal that will see the Indian firm construct 422 Kilometers of transmission lines. Various stakeholders who attended a public Participation engagement Forum, organised by the Ministry of energy questioned the secrecy surrounding the multi-billion shillings deal and whether its Value for Money.Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi who revealed that the deal was at its final negotiation stages hinted at possibilites of a likely increase in power tarriffs to facilitate the Loan repayment of the Project. There after adani increased the power costs which was too much sri lanka basically wanted to buy back its electricity company. The successful high voltage power line from Mombasa to Nairobi between Ketraco and Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd, another Indian company was USD. 40 million and longer. This one going for over USD 700 & shorter is just out of this world. Kalpataru are doing similar projects in Brazil, why not go back to them?
