We have a serious noise pollution/insensitivity to blasting decibels type of problem in Kenya. People have no problem cranking music systems or speakers to level 15 it should be cracked down on. Especially traders riding through neighborhoods with massive speakers on their cars thinking the louder the message the higher the likelihood someone will buy their sh!t - me never. It's awful and primitive. Silence is golden: loud music and someone yelling into a P.A system in a neighborhood is like the latrine

We need to follow the example of countries such as Seychelles and Reunion where facilities such as churches, mosques are banned from having loud speakers outside their premises or making noise that can be heard outside. They have strict laws on this which they enforce. Same applies to night clubs etc.

I was calling and calling and calling NEMA for years on a weekly basis. Nothing happened until COVID shut down the clubs an churches. And it has not been back to the same noise levels since. Churches in my neighborhood Syokimau area called Church road.
