I love the clear walk through. The PAIR valve is something my older dr does not have, but I would like to understand a bit more about it. Nice tidy shop and great information, thanks for a great video. Dino
Thanks for the video. I ordered the same kit from bush pig and this will help me install it this week. Have the jd jet kit and extended fuel mixture screw on its way as well.
Only thing I would comment - my understanding is its injecting extra fresh air into the hot exhaust manifold to combust unburnt fuel/air mix that gets through the valve overlap, rather than just diluting the air mix coming out the exhaust. Its why you get all the popping when you roll off the throttle with the stock systems.
tampering of federally required emissions systems is against the law, at this point in time these modifications have been ignored for prosecution, even the installation of aftermarket exhaust systems is tempting the enivitable of the EPA cracking down and putting stop to this long standing tradition of modified motorcycles, the current state of government do gooders will eventually realize the huge amount of fines that can be collected by a greedy administration
The reason you aren't getting a good bite with screws is because they are Japanese industrial screwdrivers. Regular screw driver in Japan. That is the exact tool for the screws in the DR and any Japanese made bike. Tusk is a good brand
I have had the same bike for 8 months and I have given it a bad life in off-road and the bike can withstand everything, I am not planning to sell it or exchange it for another
hey that was a very helpful video! any chance you still got that part number for your spare gasket where the PAIR air pipe went into the cylinder head - i wasn't so lucky to have my stay on the cylinder side - and i can't seem to find that part # anywhere easy on the internet
Great video. Goes into deeper detail and is a bit longer then I'd like but I'll continue to follow you. If you put an over sized tank on....I'm drooling iver your orange oretty hard right now.
I changed to an Acerbis fuel tank so I can’t connect the line from the top of the carburetor to the petcock.. What would you suggest I do with it ? I have already removed the pair valve. Thanks
The line on top of the carb stays. That’s for the slider and runs up to the air box. The vac line to the petcock you should cap off at the T or if everything is deleted you should cap off on the carb
Why do we have to remove it at all ???? It only opens when your throttle is closed on deceleration and have absolutely no effect on your performance. Without it, well.... you just blow more crap in the air for no apparent reason. We all just like to play with our bikes. That's all.
@@baydayz9399 Great. So, I guess you'll be removing the brake lines next? Thank you for dumping your pollution in the air so we can all breath it. BTW the air added to the exhaust allows the hydrocarbons to burn off reducing the emission of hydrocarbons. Those hydrocarbons are really great at producing some nice toxic components in the ambient air so we can all breath them. Nice work.
@@joe2479 I have removed the brake lines, just so I can drive it right off a cliff to rid this atmosphere polluting device just to save you Joe. Stick around and watch more videos upcoming
Good video. However, I struggle with the concept of taking off specially designed, pollution reducing devices just because they make your bike look better🤔

Thanks for enjoying my video. I’ve watched and have learned so much about the DR from you and your videos
I have the same bike for the last two years, and it’s a great bike to run. Easy to maintain and fix. Couldn’t be more happy having this bike.
They sure are great bikes. And simple to work on
Same to me
One of my sons just bought the same bike , colour two weeks ago, he loves it.
I have the 2014 model, and I really enjoy it, a great bike for sure.
Just got my dr , thank you for the info , I was stumped putting this acerbic tank on without that vac tube , delete time
Nice tutorial J! Appreciate it the shout out. The team at Bp
glad you enjoyed, I have some more BP items I will be doing some videos of. 👍

I would like to see part 2 released please love the content ur channel brings
Thank You. Glad you found the information useful. Part 2 coming soon

Thank you for the comment and sharing your knowledge. For such a small simple part it does provide an important function

Excited for part 2. Doing this along side you 😎
Do you have other changes you are doing also?
I do plan on rejetting, eventually a new tank and seat as well. Trying to turn it into a sort of adventure bike like many others do.

@@baydayz9399no offense to the other guy but I rather enjoy detailed videos for modifications. I do agree with him on the orange, it’s a good look
Almost the same as the Klr650's AIS system, luckily the Klr650 system is very easy to delete

at 15:15, where is that cap coming from?

Bush Pig Performance is fantastic
Why do we have to remove it at all ????
It only opens when your throttle is closed on deceleration and have absolutely no effect on your performance.
Without it, well.... you just blow more crap in the air for no apparent reason. We all just like to play with our bikes. That's all.

So the port on the top of the carburetor is the source of vacuum and i can just run the line from there to the petcock to operate the fuel diaphragm?
Yeah that is what i ended up doing, or you can leave the T in line and use the vac line cap Bushpig Performance included in the delete kit
You never explained WHY you removed the valve? What is the benefit?
I prefer not to have hoses and lines running all over, my preference is neat and tidy
Less things to get surprised with and less things to troubleshoot if and when I brake down
