You have to be sneaky about it. You start by bringing vegan stuff to get togethers. They get curious after a while and try them. Then it becomes more acceptable. I've got mine drinking fresh pressed juices now. The kids look forward to the fruit platters.

I like when you have non vegans participate in your taste test videos! They give a little more validity to the claims that the product is good or tastes like "meat/ice cream/ cheese" since they aren't as used to eating the substitute products.
Katheryn Hennis I had the “Impossible Burger” today for the first time. It was at a Houlihans restaurant. Hubs and I have not eaten meat for 6 years. The burger was absolutely amazing. It was just what I remember a burger tasted like in all of its smoky grilled flavor and meaty texture in every bite. It was somewhat confusing because I felt like I was cheating but it was not meat. I don’t really miss eating meat because there are so many other good foods to eat, but occasionally I get an out of nowhere craving for a good grilled burger. the “Impossible Burger was the perfect replacement. I drove 20 miles for one today. Id have no problems doing that if I got a craving. Houlihans also did a perfect job dressing it up with Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo salt and pepper. No fancy seasonings, just good old fashioned burger goodness! I know Im going to crave them now!

After not eating meat for 4 years now, I stopped looking for a replica that tastes exactly like the animal. In fact, I forgot how meat tastes like since its been so long because it doesn't matter to me anymore. As long as it's not an animal I'm cool with it.
Britt Flores I've been practically meat-free for three years now. The few times I have had some were not to be rude, but honestly just one bite was enough for me because it seemed completely tasteless...
Use seasoning lol. That's what seasoning is for, to give food taste. Salt, pepper, hamburger seasoning, and garlic seasoning for example.
Britt Flores I'm not vegan but I do really like veggie burgers. I think they should be marketer them less as a alternative type of beef burger but more as it's own thing.

I have not had meat in over 20 years. The Beyond Burger tasted like meat to me, like seriously, and it made me gag. I couldn’t finish it.
Gardein has the BEST meatless options and are always vegan. My fave!

I wonder how dating a non-vegan has positively influenced Duncan? I mean I can clearly see how Liz has been positively influenced through an introduction to a new lifestyle, but I wonder how having to live with someone what thinks very differently has helped Ducan relate to and become more tactful with non-vegans. I always see all this hate in the comments towards non-vegans, but the longer I watch this channel the more tactful and respectful I seeing Duncan becoming which is causing more people to hear what he's saying and be more willing to try understanding the vegan mindset and lifestyle. I think it would make an interesting video if Duncan and Liz express how they think they've been positively influenced by one another.
Really? I can't fathom being mean or cruel to a person simply because they aren't vegan. All of my friends and family members are non-vegans. Being nice to people does make them friendlier towards how I live and eat, I imagine.
All for the Animals Right? I try to be nice to everyone, regardless of what they eat. I'm the only vegan in my family but I am still kind to everyone and enjoy being around my family and non vegan friends. But, so many vegans resent non vegans. I even had a vegan friend who pushed all the non vegans out of her life, even her own parents and hasn't spoken to them in years for what they eat, and I find that so sad. I could never imagine myself resenting someone just for what they eat.
Hannah Renee totally agree with your comment. I think being the "holier than thou" type of vegan is offputting. Which does nothing for the cause.
Alana Robertson I'm vegetarian and have got so much flack from vegans in forums just by saying. If all Americans ate meat twice a week how impactful it would be. And they said ya if I only raped 2 girls a week or killed 2 kids... etc. So I was going to go vegan a while back. But I'll never be one of those ppl. They've ruined it for me and I'll never be like them. But I love animals and the environment. But vegans should step off and stop thinking they are above the rest of us.

I love the fact that you have all spectrums of meat and non meat eaters because me trying to be vegan-ish, I always wanted to see opinions from all types of eaters (if that makes sense lol) so I know which foods relate the most to the carnivore that’s still left inside of me along with the vegan I’m slowly trying to become. My first video and I’m already subscribing for sure!

My first thought was dog food but someone mentioned cat food and bingo. Thanks for the video and I love you guest, Theo. You should have him on more often. Duncan and Liz, I want you to know that I'm vegan because of your interview with your friends watching/reviewing Gary Yourofsky's lecture. I had to see what you guys were talking about so I watched at it and OMGNESS! So, I will be a vegan a year in May. Thank you guys for the exposure!

There's no such thing as "Vegan for a year"; I don't want to seem like the type of vegan to make up rules that have nothing with being vegan(like fully raw, or gluten free), but what you mean is "Plant based for a year"...Veganism is just anti- speciesism, but there's no such thing as "a part time vegan", just like there's no such thing as "part time anti-racist" or "part time anti-rape", or "part time anti-serial killer" lmfao

I hope Beyond Burgers come to Australia soon! Though I think I'd be the same as Duncan, I've never eaten meat so I'd probably find it weird. The best burgers we have here are called Notburgers, mainly because they have this really yummy crunchy batter on the outside. I guess they count as more of a schnitzel type burger.

Beyond burger is unreal, it reminds me of actual burgers from this caribbean fast food place called Pollo Tropicál. It gives me childhood memories of eating there. I'm just surprised I found a veggie burger that makes me that happy.
I like vegan food and honestly veggie patties never did it for me. i would rather fill a nice flax seed toasted bun with roasted mushrooms, onions, peppers and tomatoes with some spring mix avocado and lime juice.
I like how open-minded the non-vegan guy is! I feel like I mostly hear non-vegans talking trash about “veganized” foods, but he actually gave it a chance :)
yo dr. praeger is my go to. i like most that it has the chunks of actual veggies rather than a blend of trying to taste like meat. like you said it's not trying to be something that its not.

Jamie Light Honestly, same. I can't stand some products because of the likeness to actual animal products. They just don't taste good to me, or the texture isn't appealing.
The commingled puzzlement and dismay on your faces when trying the Little Green shroom burger killed me! This was a fun taste test; you are so charming a complement to one another here. TFP : )
I'm just happy that there are so many vegan burgers to choose from these days! Companies are coming out with more and more as time goes on. It's awesome!! I really want to try the Beyong Burger because everyone loves it so much. This isn't a "beef burger" but I love the Boca Chik'n Patties. They honestly are so good on a "chicken" sandwich. Gives those a try!
The beyond meat is the best for sure. I keep telling all my stores to get it. so far I can only get it at whole foods which is 30 miles away!. only problem with it is if you cook it too hot, it sets my smoke alarm off every time! and it leaves a slight aftertaste. not bad just a little something. but I use it just like hamburger, in spaghetti sauces and manwinch. (hope that is vegan!)
Theo was a great guest I wouldn't mind seeing him in a video again, also I'm so excited to try the beyond meat burger, seeing as it tastes almost exactly like real meat apparently, because I've never eaten meat in my life so it would be a totally new experience for me. It's cool that you can buy it in shops now, hopefully it will be available in Ireland soon!
That's the thing about vegan burgers. some try to imitate meat and some are like eh, we're not gonna even try. we're just a veggie patty lol. you have to figure out what you're want to go for and then choose accordingly. That being said some of the veggie patties are very good. I just wouldn't call them a burger. On a related note, Sunshine Burgers (vegan ) are really good, but I often break it up as a side dish or I wrap it in lettuce and tomato and vegan cheese. I have officially made myself hungry lol

The spicy chicken Boca patties are even better than the original Boca burgers. And minus the eating of animal products, Theo would be a nice cup of tea.
Here are some tips if anyone is ever planning on going vegan:
Tip 1: *Take b12* (because it's a bacteria found in dirt, which we used to eat but now we have to wash our plants to prevent excess pesticide consumption so we don't get as much anymore)
Tip 2: **Put in notes (on your phone or something) regular fast food chains like mcdonalds and wendys, and see what they have vegan there,** other than the salads and stuff. Then write those options down, so you know what's vegan the moment you arrive there (So you won't be stressed or forced into eating meat). That's what I do.
Tip 3: **Eat varied stuff and enjoy some vegan junk food** from time to time, especially in the transition phase to prevent you from losing heart.
Tip 4: **If you live with avid meat eaters as a family, try establishing a deal with them.** For example: I won't eat any dairy or meat for the entire week but I will eat it once or twice every Sunday (Compromise). If I see I am healthy with a blood test, Then I will cut it out after a month or two and you can't force me to eat meat again.
Tip 5: **Don't forget your OMEGAS!*** Eat nuts and seeds but don't forget to eat seaweed, kelp, algae or other sea plants as well! These have different types of omegas that nuts don't necessarily contain, so that will help. (Take it like once a week if you want).
Tip 6: **Ask yourself "What is my favourite food currently that's not necessarily vegan?" Then Go online and search up the vegan recipe to that meal** (It will basically just swap the cow's milk for vegan milk and the egg for a vegan egg replacer most of the time) . I almost guarantee there will be vegan alternatives that taste just as good.
Tip 7: **Constantly educate yourself** by checking out www.nutritionfacts.org , What the health movie and the like, so you don't allow others to take advantage of that fact and tell you false information. This will also encourage you to aspire for a healthier life without giving up :).
Tip 8: *EAT ENOUGH* :).
Good luck! Don't lose hope my fellow vegans, vegetarians or simply people who are slowly transitioning to a plant based diet!

Hi! I love these veggie burgers you can get at Sprouts. They are the Spicy Chicken Veggie Burgers, and they are vegan. They taste phenomenal and are so easy to make. I recommend them.

Dr praegars is my favorite! they're soo flavorful, Boca is good too, and I like gardein "chicken" products never tried the beef thoo...also I would want to try the beyond burger if I could find it!!!

Did u try the Field Roast burger? It's my favorite! We don't have as many options in Canada as you guys in the US, so no beyond burger yet. And Gardein will only offer 4 products in Canada from now on... so sad! Right now I AM so JEALOUS OF AMERICAN VEGANS HAHA

I love that you guys can joke about veganism like that. I do it with my non vegan friends and it's so fulfilling to joke about ourselves and respect each other.
I tried The BB at a local restaurant. I stock up on them and freeze them. Before they go in the pan, I warm them in the microwave for 30 secs or 1min. They are my favorite and most consumed processed food. They are comfort food for me.

Ok I am not even kidding, Theo is the coolest, cutest guy/person I have seen on YT in a while! I am vegan and I was just thinking before he said it about the Dr. w/e burger, it's not trying to be something it's not. Very funny. This was an excellent video. I am going home to Minneapolis from New Zealand and will be there for the 4th and have to stay with my mom and cook for her. I am definitely going to see if I can fool her with the beyond meat. I figured I would investigate what's available up there for burgers are Mom's favorite. I just noticed Theo is doing a vegan challenge so I will subscribe and stay tuned! Thanks=)

fairly new to vegetarian (sorry not vegan yet) boca burgers are sooooo delish & reasonably priced...I use them in variety of dishes... I love them in lettuce wraps. Who / What store sells the beyond meat burger? that really looked scrumptious!.. But the real test would be bacon! please do a vegan "bacon" taste test!

The first time I had the Dr. Praeger's burger I was like "AHHH IT'S GREEN!!!!!!!" You guys should try the Dr. Praeger's superfood one. I think that was the other one I tried anyway. The other one I had was really really dark green lol
"I feel a little nervous about this, what if it's real meat?" I can relate! I hate eating fake meat burgers for that reason, I'm never relaxed hahaha! Also my favorite is Dr. Preagers but I normally get the Kale one, it knows what it is and is proud of it. :D

Out of all of those choices I only buy Hilary’s. I haven’t tested them all, but Hilary’s has the healthiest ingredients (the “cleanest” although I usually hate that word in relation to food). There are ingredients in each of the other ones that I prefer not to have.
Seeing these kind of videos always reminds me how little vegan options there are at the grocery stores near me lol
