Conor could, but it’s closer to 50/50 with a bias towards illia for me. Before he injured his knee on Holloway, he was a good offensive grappler, great defensive wrestler, and had obviously great striking. Illia and conor have top tier fight iq though, but I think in his prime, conor had slightly more fight iq and creativity.
145 Conor? No man. No. He’s a clown show now, but just look at the two of their fights and you can see the result Conor’s counters & range control & the way he moved shifted the entire landscape of the sport. It would have been a damn good fight. There’s a hell of a lot of personality in that fight. Don’t you all dare call me a casual. I have fought, and started watching MMA around TUF 1 & pride. I say again, FEDOR BEATS TOM. UFC bought all their competition & now they write the history books. These new fans all put Stipe as the GOAT & they act like this man didn’t exist. 7 title defenses vs 4? Against Juiced up competition with soccer kicks to the head of a grounded opponent with 10 min first rounds? Fedor was the heavyweight GOAT. I’m tired of seeing this UFC promoted retelling of history, go watch Power slap! 🤣
The Aspinall glaze is too much with this guy. Thinking he beats prime Cain, and prime Stipe is crazy, both those guys were very crafty and highly skilled, whereas Tom’s still swinging with his chin in the air just hoping he lands first And Aldo would probably get knocked out by Ilia, he’s literally lost to every other featherweight champion that’s not Ilia. It’s not that he wasn’t good for his time, but his skills did not withstand the test of time like some other fighters do
Aspinall would have destroyed Stipe who got finished by Stefan Struve😂. The figures are not like the myths you spread. Aspinall has a striking defense of 65% in the UFC, which is one of the best. Velasquez has a chance to beat Aspinall than Stipe but it will be difficult to survive the early rounds.
@ Discrediting Stipe for having a loss to Struve is dumb, same as trying to discredit GSP for losing to Sera. Shit happens sometimes Tom doesn’t have enough octagon time for that stat to mean much right now. Think about it, he’s been to the second round like once in the UFC, and it was to old man Arlovski. Tom to me is like a heavyweight Paulo Costa, he’s running through these lower skilled guys, and a big factor in is that he’s bigger and stronger than a lot of the guys he’s beaten. But when he’s in there with a certified elite he’s going to be pushed, and he’s going to fight the elite competition he’s going to look very different Or he might not, my issue with the Tom glazing is that people talk about him like he’s the greatest heavyweight to ever fight, but he’s never even fought a great heavyweight. I understand that that’s why people want Tom to fight Jones, but if he beats Jones the narrative is already gonna be that he beat a washed up version of Jones. People have been non stop saying that Jones looks bad at heavyweight, so it’s not going to really do much for Tom to fight Jones. And the same can be said for Jones. The only way the Tom fight helps Jon is if Tom actually does go on to be the greatest heavyweight ever. Otherwise that fight is more of a waste of time than Jones vs Stipe, because at least that has significance of the greatest in one weight class against the greatest in another
@@romeds848 "it’s not going to really do much for Tom to fight Jones." are you even reading what you're saying or you're just talking to talk? same as "that fight is more of a waste of time than Jones vs Stipe". its obvious that the only reason you brought up him glazing aspinall is solely because you are glazing jones yourself because these statements are even more delusional that any hot take said in any ufc video ever. what you are standing up against are literally given facts from literally EVERYONE in the mma community, and you're here talking out of your ass to be different. tom fighting jones doesnt do much for tom? tom vs jon in 2024 is more of a waste of time than jon vs stipe in 2024? holy shit

Dude, what's what I was thinking for a while. Imagine the Mcgregor that knocked out Aldo, fought current Topuria, that would be absolute fireworks. Mcgregor being a great counterpuncher, Topuria being a great puncher, both of them mostly using boxing.
Prime Aldo lost to Holloway twice, I don't understand how he wins to Topuria. And also Conor grappling wouldn't keep with Topuria, even his striking and cardio, we saw what happened with Nate and Dustin.
1. Prime Aldo was in WEC. 2. He broke his foot several fights before so he was not the same. 3. Why tf are you comparing the results of Aldo vs a 25yo much bigger Holloway with Topuria vs a 32yo Holloway? This is not a Mortal Kombat game, you have plenty of reasons to argue in Ilia's favor but THAT'S NOT IT 😂😂😂
Khabib was pretty much bigger than Gsp he was cutting from near 185 to make 155 while gps himself said he was a small welterweight only being about 183 It would of been close af
When he fought DC for the 2nd and 3rd time they were way out of their primes, and you can even argue Stipe slowly went down hill after the 1st Ngannou fight
It's hard to imagine someone beating Khabib, his will was just different. Islam is incredible but Khabib would (probably) just do exactly what he did to everyone else.
or they meet stalemate. Both doing everything, yet doing nothing at the same time. Both of these guys negating other's attacks. Meanwhile MMA fans needing multiple tissues for wetdream, because this is a one in a million fight even better than Jones vs Gustafsson 1.
Conor Vs Ilia at 145lb is the dream match up. Conor's distance management was elite, and Illia needs to be in the phone box to be effective. With no threat of a takedown, I think Conor employs the teeps and snipes from range, eventually finding Illia's chin before Illia finds Conors.
Islam knocks the brotha out of khabib mate. Merab will hold dillashaw against the cage for 25 mins to win by decision. Apart from that I agree with you.
@@EG-mw8kp Aldo was washed up and it was at altitude. A prime Aldo would be utterly humiliated Merab. Dillashaw would beat him, as would Cruz. Dillashaw was hard to back up and had elite cardio and wrestling.
i think prime mcgregor can definitely drop ilia and his range/ distance management could give him problems initially. But torpuria is defensively so sound in the striking and goes not over commit I could see mcgregor getting gassed within the 3rd round and topuria starts pouring it on him where eventually he would just throw a combination and catch connor like he did with Volk. Connor could be tagging him up at first but his cardio was not the best and with the weight cut to featherweight he was probably chinny and vulnerable to body shots but we never saw that because no one at FW was able to connect clean with him and take him into deep waters
15:51 dc and khabib/islam's coach say something different. dc after ufc302: Nobody is khabib coach mendez: khabib rarely loses rounds in sparing (Against islam too) Islam: nobody can stop khabib inside the cage or outside.we have different style. he has the worst style for everybody.
Bro the Aldo beating Topuria take was INSANE I do however agree that Conor beats him. I personally think 145 Conor when he was hungry and motivated is the best featherweight we’ve ever seen
11:10 dude that was a single round in a 5 rd fight... gsp still wins but it was a single round where a guy who's known to gas was emptying the gas tank trying to get a finsh and didn't and there was 4 rds left to be fought
aldo beating topuria is the most ridiculous thing you said aldo didnt last a minute against conor and he defeat someone who has a lightheavy weight knockout power like elia is silly
You understimate Ilia, he wasn’t struggling with Max, he was just waiting for the perfect shot for the KO, same vs Volka, nobody rn can fight 5 rounds with Topuria and survive, they all go to sleep, and the only time he got trouble with kicks was vs Herbert, after that he learned and never got in that situation again
Conor didn't have a bad gas tank, he struggled only with Nate Diaz with gas tank because he was 2 weight class above his actual weight class. He looked absolutely fine in the 3rd round with Holloway in his actual weight division and even with Khabib he looked fine cardio wise in the 4 th round untill he got submitted
I think topuria KOs Aldo easier than he did to Max. Ppl think Aldo was old when he lost to Volk and max. He was literally in his early 30s, not trying to do mma math but all it takes is one for topuria to stiff him
I think Khabib could submit Islam but it would be a close fight. I think that Islam says that Khabib is the better fighter but that could be a respect thing.
Why do people pretend like topuria would walk into the shot Aldo did ? Do people not actually watch the fights ? Also I love how everyone says that he struggles against kicks like he it wasn’t one fight ? Max landed some kicks that didn’t do significant damage (until afterwards), Volk landed more kicks but they had literally no effect + topuria landed harder kicks, and Jai Herbert landed a crazy head kick that we have never seen land on topuria again. People also talk about ilia getting pieces up against max when in reality he was just throwing jabs which are not hard to land. Ilia was landing harder and more significant shots the entire fight and was hunting for the KO. Obviously when you walk forward against a longer fighter he’s gonna land jabs. Ppl have to stop meatriding older fighters. Conor is most likely not knocking him out and if it lasts more than 2 rounds Conor is getting dogged on the ground or walked down deep into the fight
Bruh Chuck Liddell who was out wrestling Tito Ortiz and competitive against Randy couture (of DC) like Chuck unironically has top 3 wrestling in LHW if he was active and in his prime today.
Prime Aldo got beat by Mcgregor and Topuria it’s a harder hitter, Topuria beats any version of Mcgregor, I don’t know if you hate Topuria but your takes made it seem like you do
The majority of people are discounting prime Aldo against Illia. The Aldo that lost against Max and Alex didn't utilise his signature leg kicks from his WEC days. This will prove a problem for Illia as it will remove the pop from his punches.

I like Aldo but I’m not sure if his kicks, counters and speed are enough to handle Ilia’s boxing, pressure and power. Stylistically it looks good for Aldo on paper but looking at Ilia’s overall advantages he has the skills to find his range against Aldo, corner him against the cage and if Aldo doesn’t circle out he’s in big trouble. Basically for Aldo to get a Decision Win vs Ilia, he has to use his kicks to keep Ilia out of boxing range for 25 minutes and avoid backing up onto the cage. I’m not saying Aldo get’s ragdolled but it seems like Ilia has the skills to where it’s hard to see him losing. Not sure about McGregor vs. Ilia but McGregor by KO/TKO seems more likely than McGregor decision win, if he has a chance of that at all.
Aspinall vs Francis is 60/40 for aspinall because aspinalls raw skill is unmatched while also being able to fill the gap of power enough with Francis and his size and strength is a straight heavyweight.

Aspinal is probably the most overrated fighter of all time. He's a great fighter, but the amount of glazing he gets is ridiculous. The pace at which he fights, he's bound to get gassed out by the third and Stipe has great cardio and a damn good chin. Prime Stipe would've decapitated Jones, and easily beats Aspinall in my opinion. The only UFC heavyweight that I think has a good chance at beating Stipe is Prime Cain. Is Topuria actually that good? (Genuinely asking)
@@karbingamer8118yes
@karbingamer8118 he is very very good. Complete fighter, in my opinion he has the best boxing ever in the ufc plus elite grappling
28:45 Figgy has a win over Pantoja…
The Aspinall glaze is too much with this guy. Thinking he beats prime Cain, and prime Stipe is crazy, both those guys were very crafty and highly skilled, whereas Tom’s still swinging with his chin in the air just hoping he lands first
And Aldo would probably get knocked out by Ilia, he’s literally lost to every other featherweight champion that’s not Ilia.
Shit happens sometimes
Tom doesn’t have enough octagon time for that stat to mean much right now. But when he’s in there with a certified elite he’s going to be pushed, and he’s going to fight the elite competition he’s going to look very different
Or he might not, my issue with the Tom glazing is that people talk about him like he’s the greatest heavyweight to ever fight, but he’s never even fought a great heavyweight.

Many guys have beaten Stipe include Stefan Struve. Prime Ngannou beat a prime Stipe. Though i think Aspinall would catch stipe
When he fought DC for the 2nd and 3rd time they were way out of their primes, and you can even argue Stipe slowly went down hill after the 1st Ngannou fight

I agree. Prime Rockhold was a beast.
Conor Vs Ilia at 145lb is the dream match up.
Conor's distance management was elite, and Illia needs to be in the phone box to be effective.
With no threat of a takedown, I think Conor employs the teeps and snipes from range, eventually finding Illia's chin before Illia finds Conors.

i think prime mcgregor can definitely drop ilia and his range/ distance management could give him problems initially.

Illia dominates Aldo, and it’s not even close. 3rd round submission or KO
aldo beating topuria is the most ridiculous thing you said aldo didnt last a minute against conor and he defeat someone who has a lightheavy weight knockout power like elia is silly
Topuria sleeping also😂
Topuria?
I think topuria KOs Aldo easier than he did to Max. Ppl think Aldo was old when he lost to Volk and max. He was literally in his early 30s, not trying to do mma math but all it takes is one for topuria to stiff him
I think Khabib could submit Islam but it would be a close fight. I think that Islam says that Khabib is the better fighter but that could be a respect thing.
Khabib a pressure and chin are extremely underrated
Cain and Francis are more likely than not to beat Aspinall.
Aspinall ko Francis by mixing the takedown and precise shots
Fr, I think Aspinall is overated, but Ngannou fans need to chill out
Prime Aldo got beat by Mcgregor and Topuria it’s a harder hitter, Topuria beats any version of Mcgregor, I don’t know if you hate Topuria but your takes made it seem like you do
The majority of people are discounting prime Aldo against Illia.
The Aldo that lost against Max and Alex didn't utilise his signature leg kicks from his WEC days. This will prove a problem for Illia as it will remove the pop from his punches.
Had to stop after 170. I get that you're British but your wrestling takes are so bad it hurts my soul. "Dan Henderson had okay wrestling" Dan was an Olympian. "Belal has more technical wrestling than Usman" Usman was a 2x D2 national champ and Belal placed at state in Chicago. No BJJ guy has good wrestling. They have mediocre to average wrestling. Come on man. Sometimes I love the content then other times it's amateur hour.
Damn, it got way worse. Gotta unsubscribe at this point. Conor over Illia?!? Fanboy commenting on MMA, no real critical context outside of basic statistics.

Bc aldo isn’t beating topuria and Conor isn’t beating him. Especially not by decision 💀 if it goes past round 2 topuria drowns him
I like Aldo but I’m not sure if his kicks, counters and speed are enough to handle Ilia’s boxing, pressure and power.
You guys are never going to stop underestimating Ilia, right?
If Khabib can not defeat Islam than no one
Aspinall vs Francis is 60/40 for aspinall because aspinalls raw skill is unmatched while also being able to fill the gap of power enough with Francis and his size and strength is a straight heavyweight.

Aspinal is probably the most overrated fighter of all time. He's a great fighter, but the amount of glazing he gets is ridiculous. Same goes with Cain, he beats Aspinal as well.
