What exactly is your point here? Every single person who watches UFC will tell you that they’re both boring. Just because Edwards is also boring doesn’t mean Merab isn’t as well.
@@charliecharlie846The point is just bc you're a grappler doesn't mean you'll be boring and just bc you're a striker it doesn't mean you'll be exciting. Some strikers in the ufc just look awful, have no idea what defense is, only know one punch (josh emmet), or they're boring as hell like leon. Theres definitely boring grapplers, but there's still exciting ones too and ones that go out on their shield to Chad their way to a win like pantoja does (I swear yall are giving him the dj treatment). Even that ww champ rn had two of his last performances being pretty impressive and enjoyable to watch. Hw striking just so trash to watch if they don't get a finish early. It's just watching two fat guys waddle at each other and its torture to watch. Thank god blobs are starting to fade away.
@@galaxyvulture6649 Pantoja is one of my top 3 favourite fighters in the UFC. I don’t have a problem with grappling but I do have a problem with boring grapplers. Merab is a boring grappler. No getting around it. People don’t say Merab is boring because he’s a grappler, they say he’s boring because every single time he fights he does everything he can to make it as uninteresting as possible.

Then when he fought sean o malley he started using his grappling kinda like mvp which can make it more interesting if you're into antics. Still I prefer islam's style of grappling bc man it's so fun and wild to watch. That shoulder pressure is disgusting to watch. Best grappling fight is going to be arman vs islam 2 bc the first fight flowed so well like a choreography.

Jon Jones is the nightmare champion. Literally killed a division because he's been too scared to fight for 3 years.
The only good thing about Topuria being champion is that we don’t have to worry about boring nut huggers becoming champ. He has the same undefeated plot armor as Evloev, and his Georgian plot armor is somehow overriding the Russian/Dagestani plot armor.
Plus stylistically he’s a nightmare for people like Movsar, as we saw against Bryce Mitchell. Still hope our boy Holloway schools him

I genuinely don't understand how one can imply Evloev and Mitchell have similar fighting styles. Mitchell is very one-dimensional and mostly relies on his grappling. Movsar has much better hands than him, and you could see that in his fights against Ige and Allen. Even then, Bryce had a decent striking performance against Ilia, mostly capitalizing on his significant reach advantage. Topuria typically struggles with suhh fighters (e.g. Herbert, and even Zalal but one could put that on the account of the fight being his first in the UFC, and short-notice). You could notice that by the way Topuria relied heavily on his overhand right to go past Mitchell's jab. Movsar also has a significant reach advantage over Topuria, and he isn't as soft to the body as Mitchell is (Topuria worked a lot on his body during their fight, that allowed him to set the overhand and also made Mitchell go for less than optimal takedown attempts). Moreover, Movsar is undoubtedly a much better wrestler than Mitchell. Ilia submitted him from side control, a position he found major difficulty getting out of. In MMA, the single most effective pin escape from side control is to turn into your knees and to wrestle up, maybe snatch up a single. That will obviously prove difficult against a better wrestler in Ilia. That wouldn't be the case for Movsar.
Also, Evloev isn't Dagestani, he's Ingush (I'm aware average UFC fans call Dagestani any Muslim fighter from the Caucasus)
