There are some weight classes in the UFC that would genuinely be useless without a certain fighter, so I thought it'd be a good time to make a video on how i'd theoretically save every UFC weight class if I had to. This would involve certain matchmaking, signings and things the UFC should do to create the best opportunity for each division

Just drop the HW limit to 235, guys like Jones, Aspinall, Gane, Almeida, Pereira, Rakić, Ulberg and many others can make that weight and then just have a Super HW division which doesn’t have a limit and has all the blobs fight for who’s got the worst fitness
I only disagree with the Topuria vs. Makhachev fight. I know it's a superfight and I'd also love to see it, but it's a joke to put Islam in this situation again. He already defended his belt against the FW champion two times. Why should he do it again and put the brakes on both divisions? Ilia has defended his belt once and he has at least two very strong contenders in his division who he didn't fight yet (Lopes and Evloev). Let him defend his belt at least two more times before we talk about him moving up. Islam also has been talking about fighting for the belt in WW and surely deserves it more than Ilia.
i don't know how much i said this. people just wanna see meaningless big fights. ilia has one title defense and if he moves up now then he's holding the division and there are good match ups for him at his division and for islam it does absolutely nothing for him.

I somewhat agree with your point about ilia defending his belt first, but it’s also based on the current situation of the divisions. Ilia and islam fighting each other is both of their most competitive fight possible at the moment, so why not make a great fight while it’s there? Plus Belal is the champ at the moment so Islam won’t fight him, and he has at least one very clear deserving contender if shavkat wins his next fight

Never failed a ped test, most title defences at lightweight which is the hardest along with bantamweight to get title defences, double champ. Beat P4P #1 twice, P4P #3 once, Arman Tsarukyan 2x, Dustin Poirier, Dan Hooker, Bobby Green, Drew Dober.

Let's say Ilia wins that fight, Islam vs Ilia in 2026... Holy shit!Islam wins then go succesfully defend his WW belt atleast once, maybe with Leon Edwards. The vacates the WW belt to permanently be the LW champ and defend it a couple more times before retiring.
If all that happens, Islam's accomplishments will be:
-the most title defence in one of the hardest divisions
-the highest winstreak, beating Anderson Silva's record (which is even harder for Islam since he's in the modern day MMA)
-have one of, if not, the most stacked resume (beat Charles, Volk, Dustin, Arman, the future FW GOAT Ilia, Shavkat, Leon, possibly Max if he gets a title shot)
-simultaneous double champ of two stacked divisions
Islam would be the GOAT of MMA if all this happens ong

Belal is overhated. Which champion other than poatan goes out there and chooses the most dangerous contender in a relatively quick turnaround. If we have shavkat, JDM and leon as champ there will only be a welterweight title fight once a year.

Q. How to save the Heavyweight Division?
A. Strip Jon Jones off his title because he'll never fight Aspinall, or he'll try to pull a McGregor by making Aspinall wait like 1+ year
As Dana famously said, whenever fighters don't want to fight certain opponents, they begin to ask for some ridiculous amount of money. I'm not saying Aspinall will beat Jon Jones, but Jon is trying to avoid him for some unknown reason.
Jon is literally ducking aspinall because he knows he has no chance
Tom isn't going to sit longer than 6 months without having a fight booked. UFC strips Jones at that point if he still ducking.

Glad someone brought up the significance in Jon ducking Tom. The division finally started to get exciting again and leave it up to Jon to become champ, have all the contenders kill themselves off and now Tom has nobody to really defend a crazy reign on and if Gane somehow beats Tom, the division will not recover for years and ofc they cut a prospect like Karl Williams but leaves these overweight heavyweights that have nothing else to offer outside of being tune ups for others still in the mix

For the Heavyweight division I would also suggest to lower the weight limit to something around 250/245 lbs since the top of the division is around that weight and they could maintain it with normal diet, and it force those overweight ranked that already have to lose weight to put a better shape and conditioning, and I would get rid of those unraked fat guys and go search in other organizations a mix of prospects and relatively consolidated names to replace them
No reason to change the limit of a division that has existed since the inception of weight classes in the UFC. It’s also the recognized heavyweight limit among almost every other combat sport from boxing to kickboxing to wrestling (which is actually higher at 285). You can solve the problem with the weight class by simply doing what he states in the video. Sign new and fresh talent from other promotions like ONE, PFL and Bellator. Anatoly Malykhin, Vadim Nemkov, Oleg Popov and Renan Ferreira would all be great additions to the division and really shake up the rankings.
