Most people hear "I will love you either way" but it is "I won't love you either way" ...which is even more soul crushing

An unexpected break-up hurts, but a clean break is by far better than this situation. By the time you hit this stage, it doesn't hurt anymore, but you've been hurting bit by bit for an extended time until you're just numb, so a break-up is just a relief at that point. Great reaction. I do love me some Chris!
I find that even if you get to this point, it still hurts a ton. I've gone through this so many times and I'm still in my early 20s, perhaps its different for me but each person I get too attached, even if I don't like them. Perhaps its just the fact that I was even put in the situation

Ty for your reaction. This is one my favorite performances from Chris. It is so emotional and so totally relatable. I feel all of us at one point or another have reached that wall in a relationship where in our heart we are convinced to our core that we no longer have the energy or desire to even want to attempt to make things better anymore. This song is an expression of that finality in our heart and spirit. Whether or not that feeling ever goes away or the relationship is ended may not be definite. Each day of our life is a new one, so circumstances can change and feelings along with it. Hope is eternal. But the memory of that feeling of hitting that wall is hard to erase even when things may get better. Nothing in life is guaranteed so we have to replace bad times with good ones whenever we can. A relationship has to have two people committed to growing together, building together and wanting the best for one another. Beautiful song, performance and reaction. Thanks again.

He is so Emotionally Intelligent ! His Emotive Language ability is captivating. He conveys such Powerful Emotions in EVERYTHING he sings. oddly enough he is brillant achemically. he is a rural country boy from kentucky but went to Vanderbilt university which is one of America's hardest school. kind of harvard but kinda better university.
He would never mention how smart he is ir how rural cool he is. he just does not care too much about himself. he just does his thing. He writes, sings and plays from the heart.
i think he is the most authentic singer player of our times. He is not faking anything. everyone loves him who runs into him or works with him. and he will close a bar with you just like any other guy. he really does drink whiskey like in the song....like its real and how he really feels
