He reminds me so much of the old "Outlaw Country" when I was a little girl. Richard Petty hat. Everyone wore those hats with the feathers and "roach clips" on them in the 70s.
listen to Chris' cover of "its a man's world' (james brown cover ) live and his own songs 'either way' - 'barely alive ' - 'i was wrong' - 'higher' - 'north dakota ' - 'death row' - and his video 'fire away' (very important message on mental health) but there are so many many more (past and present).. he is a true artist! And he always has a story to tell .. the best storyteller ever!! your reaction is great!

Absolutely nothing like just a singer and a guitar to perform and really show off the talent; well the best is a singer going 100% accapella. Without Morgan (Chris's wife) he would not be in the spotlight showing of his songwriting and guitar playing.

He writes great, he delivers the music better than most, and drives it into you, his vocals exceed anyone in country music, which is his title genre, he literally can own about 8 genres,plus he is his own genre. There has never been anyone like him since I have been alive.

Yeah there are more elements and sounds to his music but to feel a more country vibe from him which you may not have got so far, check out whiskey and you and also nobody to blame. Both great songs on my playlist.
