That's one of my favorite things about traveling in Vietnam, cheap(er) accommodation. I don't think I've ever spent more than $40/night on a hotel here (usually in the $10-$15 range)

I’ve been to Vietnam many times, and I love the country.
I have to say that you put a very nice objective video together, you did a really good job without coming across as a ‘know it all”, as you see it in many other travel blogs, especially US based.
I think a lot of people will appreciate your videos.

Van, thank you very much for this video. While I had to learn off the cuff when I lived in China and during my stays in the Philippines, I had some help from friends to make my time more pleasant. I found the video amazing. I had Kidney cancer and within a year I needed a heart valve replacement and had to have teeth removed due to possible complications, so the medical part really helped. I'm doing great now. I was able to go back to China but Covid broke the next month after I returned and I had to come back home to America. I miss Asia and would love to go back to live. Anywho, thank you again for your hard work, pleasant attitude, and informative videos. 👍✌️❤️🤟😊☕

EVERYTHING she says is correct about Vietnam. I'm an American and have fallen in love with Vietnam and met my Fiance there. It's about $1400 from the west coast of the USA but once we get there (about 18 hr flight) our currency crushes it. A cup of regular starbucks coffee in Vietnam is .80! I stayed in a luxury resort in Nha Trang (marble foyer, brand new, 8 elevators-you get the picture) in June 2023. It was only $50 a night!. Easily would have been $300 in the USA. FLY AROUND in Vietnam. Do not use buses or train. I do disagree with her renting a scooter-DO NOT DO THAT. Traffic is crazy. You don't know the rules. NEVER step back in traffic. ALWAYS MOVE FORWARD when crossing the street! GOT IT? ;) btw I was in Ha Long Bay (take the boat tours!) Ha Noi (see old French quarter), Da Nang (Hoi An), Nha Trang, Saigon and did a Mekong delta cruise. Younger people there speak English. Older people mid 50s and up might know some limited French. As foreigners don't try to speak Vietnamese it's difficult. Americans they like us there. Don't worry they have moved passed the war a long time ago and want to know us. Not just for money they honestly like the USA.

Another component of travelling Vietnam are bus tours. There are many and are generally excellent. Anything from one day to multi days, you can find bus tours that take you to pretty much anywhere you thought of. And then some. Generally they are with a tour guide who helps with information along the way. (disclaimer - pre covid experience)

Another tips for menstruators, tampons are hard to find in Vietnam, although big supermarkets or shopping centers have them, there're mostly non-applicator ones. There's one brand called Sofy that has the applicator ones but there's only Super available, so, if you're gonna travel to Vietnam and have to be specific with the brand ur using, make sure to bring your own!

I took loads of pictures and, at some stage, took a picture of something I shouldn't. When I got home, every picture had been encrypted and could not be viewed - even experts can't break the encryption. That was sad. I still loved the holiday and the food was beyond belief in quality, I will definitely be back. Brendan

I’m an American 🇺🇸 who lives and works in Taiwan, where I pay a minimal monthly fee for National Health Insurance and my medical care is affordable (it even covers Traditional Chinese Medicine). Years ago, I got very inexpensive emergency dental care as an uninsured patient. Can you please share what the system is like for immigrants or visitors in Vietnam 🇻🇳? Thank you 🙏

Hi! We are deciding to go to Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. I'm wondering what if any vaccines you would suggest or if any are needed. I've heard yellow fever, Hep A or B etc. I'm just confused as i've never been to these countries and want to stay safe but don't want to take 3 or 4 different vaccines if i don't need them. What would you suggest. Very much appreciated and you i subscribed to your channel as its very informative. Keep up the great work!

If you are visiting Vietnam. hepatitis is recommended but no other vaccinations are required e.g malaria shots. Unless you are planning to be in the country side for several days. Otherwise, if you are in Saigon or larger cities, you will be fine without it. One medication to get is the anti-diarrhea just in case
