Smoked for 12 years from the age of 15. Today, it’s day 294 I’m smoke free. How I did it? Cold Turkey. If you’re watching this and desperately want to kick the habit, all I can say is you have to be ready for it. Mentally. 100%. I’ve tried and failed multiple times. So what was different this time? My intention was serious. It was a “I’m done with this and I am going to go the distance No matter how hard it gets!”. I read Allen Carr’s book, I watched TH-cam videos on personal experiences, I weighed out all the pros and cons in my mind. Remember, nothing’s a magic pill, all you really need is the heart and mind of a champ! Every day more is a day easier and it will get easier and easier till you don’t even think about it anymore!!! YOU GOT THIS. 💪🏼
I started smoking at 12. I smoked for 11 years and today is day 30 of quitting cold turkey. I don't regret quitting at all. But i'm still suffering from a couple of withdrawal symptoms. But it's all worth it 😊 Quitting was the best decision I ever made.
@@stonergstonervision3997 congratulations 🥳 today at 4:44 will be day 3 from quitting. I’ve had the moments I want to give in but I’m so determined not to give in
I started smoking years ago as a teenage, got addicted to cigarettes. Spent my whole life fighting Cigarettes addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder, got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
Thanks for sharing your story. That's rough I sympathize. Save your health save your mind. Life is better without heroin, cocaine, alcohol and cigarettes. And you have more money in your pocket. God bless everyone who has rejected the devils intentions to be addicted to alcohol and cigarettes etc which can cause so much damage to health. I will pray for you all.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
YES very sure of Mr.medmushies. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, BPD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!
+Jacob W Since I don't look for support around me I use to keep on watching these vids. They've been very helpful to me. And then, one day I tell to my family and friends "Hey, already 3 months", or "Hey, already half a year"! And then we all get happy. But I really never needed to have daily support from anyone, because I don't need to talk or face the problem every day. Now 6 months off smoking (updating: 9 months). Good luck with your daily battle. ;)
Idk if its a good idea im a tabacco and weed smoker and im trying to smoke more weed to foget about cigs until i stop tabacco then i would maybe stop weed cuz its not addictive
There are many factors in quitting drinking including eg motivation and help from family. One place I found which successfully combines these is the Sebs Magic Tactic (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful method i've seen. Check out the site and unbelievable reviews.
hi guys, the greatest success that I have ever had was with the Quit Smoking Crusher (i found it on google) without a doubt the most useful method that I have ever tried.
I stopped smoking 33 years ago, after having smoked for 18 years. Best thing I ever did in my life. Now I can jog and do other forms of exercises, which would never have been possible if I would not have quit. Take my advice: DO NOT SMOKE. Save your life-giving lungs....one day you will also say 'it was the best thing I ever did in my life'.
CAN YOU TELL ME HOW YOU STOP SMOKING, I AM 20 YEARS I Am not Able to quit I had started smoking when I was 16 with friends now I am 20 I smoke about 15 to 20 cigarettes a day I have read books about habit like power of habit ,atomic habit but I am not able to quit ,,,,,,, please share your experience how did you do this
@@kashishbisht9497 Remove the temptation, remove all lighters away, ashtrays. Then, if you need to smoke, drink a pint of COLD water FAST, that'll help. You shoul also consider chewing gum, that help.
@@kashishbisht9497 i started when i was 19. stopped for a year and on average i smoke up to 25 a day. i am 24 soon turning 25. i need to really quit. they have become too expensive.
Same here I’m 27 smoked since I was about 13 I’m hoping I’m smoking my final cigarette while watching this video I’ve never tried to quit before, question is did you manage it?
i smoked for 15 years and i stopped cold turkey, thank god i did not have to cut down or go through a process, if i can do it then you can do it, its all in the head! you will feel so much better physically and mentally... people think its so hard to quit but its just the opposite, the key is to want to quit...good luck to all the smokers out there.
Good for you Ella. I, too have smoked 45+ years. Today is 23 days. I have quit cold turkey because I feel its the best way for me. I also quit because I have emphysema and cannot breathe like a normal person anymore which really makes me sad and cry. It is so difficult to breathe I want to die some days because of what I've done to my lungs.
Oh please forgive yourself I know that I had to forgive myself to move on. Things for me have gotten truly better I've been clean for over a year and just recently went out with my family to celebrate. Not all days are easy but they do get easier as time goes by. God Bless and the very best of wishes on your new journey.
I hope my journey will inspire some of you to quit smoking. I've been a smoker since I was 16, and have been for the last 24 years. For me, quitting was like breaking a toxic relationship. I find that quitting smoking and a bad relationship (friend of partner) requires the same level of emotional and mental fortitude. I got married 3 years ago, and I feel like my relationship with cigarettes was harming my family physically and emotionally, so I though I'd give quitting another shot. This is when I realized something that changed everything that cigarettes, like all the other toxic people I cut from my life was a part of my past and doesn't have to be a part of my future, it's like a self serving, abusive family member, friend, ex or mistress. I think most people tend to underestimate what it really takes to quit smoking, and I think that mindset adds a level of difficulty to it. For as long as we see cigarettes as an object, we'll always feel like we're in control, so the trick is to change your perspective, and start looking at the habit as an actual person. What would you do if you're in a relationship with someone; who’s manipulating you, putting a heavy burden on your health, burning your money and your years, and someone who puts a strain on your relationship with the people you love and those around you, it only makes sense to break that relationship, don't you think? Quitting a habit or a person are technically the same thing, people tend to stay in a toxic relationship because of the habits we developed, it becomes a very unhealthy co-dependent bond. People are usually hesitant to walkout of a relationship no matter how toxic it is because we're afraid to change or quit some of the habits we grew accustomed to, and honestly it is not as easy as it sounds. Once I change my outlook, is when I started to negotiate with myself, it became clear that she was doing more harm than good, and so, I started visualizing certain daily routines without smoking. I started seeing her (cigarette) less and less, until it came to a point that I feel like I was just keeping her for certain things, things that I can do without smoking. I was so surprised that I can actually finish a cup coffee or tea without a cigarette. I began to feel very different physically, emotionally and mentally. I started feeling nauseated, dizzy after smoking, I couldn't even finish a stick because of how bitter and disgusting it suddenly taste, until one day I just walked away from her and never looked back. Quitting smoking is easily one of the best decisions I made in my life, my wife and I even conceived our first baby a few months after quitting. I hope that some of you will find this comment helpful in your journey to quit smoking. I wish you all the best, and I promise you that you won't regret it!
Your comment makes perfect sense. I stopped smoking 14 days ago, I've been smoking for over 40 years. I'm using NRT to help with cravings but I've also started viewing ciggies as the devil or an ugly demanding creature such as golem. He's def not my best friend who I can't live without but my No1 enemy who has seriously damaged my health & robbed me of so much of my time & money. I dare not even think about how much money during the 40+ years I've allowed myself to be tricked & mentally & physically abused/ robbed by him. It's insane how we think of this disgusting wretched smelly creature as our friend. I'm struggling most days as most do. I'm finding it hard to concentrate, feel very low in mood & my energy levels have taken a big dip but seeing him as my arch enemy instead of my trusted old friend is helping me to fight the cravings.
Smoking is bad for ur lungs, Ur lungs will collapse and send into the boring hospital. I tried smoking from my brother I was 11 or 12 and never will try it again. I would just keep getting distracted by my games and will not eat candies.
Hey, I just want to say thanks for inspiring story, its really a perfect analogy to help to quite smoking.. I am still on my 5th day of Smoke free, and started craving because of stress, and thats why I got into this video, and your comment indeed fuel my will power for I hope a very long journey ahead.. Thank you again
Thank you so much for typing out all of this. I read it all! It is very helpful for me, someone beginning their journey of wanting to quit nicotine. It gave me hope & understanding! ❤🎉 & encouragement. Thank you!
Brilliant video. I'm on day 2 of quitting after a 13 year smoking habit and this video explained so much and gave me a good idea of what to expect in the next few days, months and years. Good luck to anyone else out there who is trying to stop. WE CAN ALL DO IT!!!!
Rob Ranieri Haven't relapsed yet, I'm doing great! I've replaced smoking with healthier habits like exercising and eating more small meals. What worked for me was sort of "shocking" my system into getting up every day at 6AM to run and lift weights. The hardest part of quitting is the mental aspect of it. When you get past this hurdle, thoughts and cravings just disappear eventually. Thank you for asking, I wish you the best of luck, my friend!
+Kallista Nytly 2 weeks (updating: more than 6 months now) and a half already, nicotine free. I mentalized myself for some days that I had to quit. Now I'm doing some diet and sport for almost 1 hour every day. I stopped drinking my 2 daily coffees in the bar and my cravings last only few seconds. The effort is worth it.
I am 30, started around 20. Tried quitting about five times. This weekend I had a moment and decided I will really stop this time. 3rd day the cravings are rough, went for a walk and a beer. Watching this to go through the detox.
My contemplation and action phases were only two days apart. I had a dentist visit coming up and had to have my remaining three wisdom teeth extracted. I knew he was going to tell me not to smoke for at least a few days, so I decided to just quit. I was a 20+ year smoker at about 1 1/2 packs a day. That was January 30, 2001 and I was 36. I'm 56 now and still tobacco free. So happy to be done with it! If I can do it so can you!
Well done mate. I’m sitting here contemplating whether to buy one last pack (just randomly stopped smoking 6 days ago). If you don’t mind, can I ask why you had to get your wisdom teeth extracted in your mid 30s? (I’m also contemplating whether to get mine out as my mouth doesn’t have too much room)
@@sultanm2849 i also had my wisdom teeth removed because they are difficult to keep clean and therefore they decay easily. Also, don't buy another ''last pack'' because it's very very likely not going to be the last one if you buy it.
I've smoked since 13 yet never considered myself a smoker. Now at 31, I'm realising just how powerful denial can be. Fessing up to the problem was the first step. Never smoking again means the problem no longer exists.
Thank you for posting this. I am 38, on Day 31 right now and am still having occasional cravings so I decided to do some research on lung regeneration after quitting. I've always been a coffee/cocktail/before or after work smoker. LOVED the fact that I didn't feel patronized by this video and voicing that we already know what the risks are. WE DO... But the nicotine addiction is what made me feel chained and helpless. Again, THANK YOU for posting the video and making a very matter-of-fact view of the reality of what we are going through without the shaming. I get enough of that from my mother! Most of all... I beat myself up more than anyone ever could over the fact that I felt I couldn't quit. My friends an family are my biggest support group right now. Sharing my success with all of my friends via Facebook has also been helpful because I feel that to a certain extent that I don't want to let them (or myself down). If you are thinking about quitting - Good for you!!! You can do this! If you are looking at this after relapsing and smoking again... Practice makes perfect... We smokers know this cycle all too well so may as well give it another go!!! Proud of you... :)
After 20 years of smoking and 1 year of gradual reduction, I am now at my 8th day without. It feels extremely beneficial, like lungs were cut in half and now are growing back ... breathing becomes deeper and easier every next day. Even when I had reduced it to 3 super light cigarettes of 0.1, it was nothing compared to no-smoking. Smoking 3 cigarettes a day was closer to smoking 20 a day than smoking none. But adjusting to 3 per day did help to reduce the cravings over time.
Quitted nearby 4 years ago after smoking for 30 years. I took a cold turkey. What helped me was to drink lots of unsweetened herbal or fruit tea or water when the craving was there.. and to tell myself: “It’s all in your head”. You have to really be strong minded the first couple of days. After 5 days the craving was getting less and I occasionally forgot about cigarettes and smoking. ♥️ Be strong, you can do it, too!!! ♥️
Literally, everything that this man has said, I went through it as an ex-smoker. I made a video about my experience. Hopefully, you can all quit this addiction and live a happier life.
June 2014, while attending a "learn to quit" class, I was shown this video. Really helped things click for me. I have been smoke free for 7 months. This video opened up the possibilities for me in terms of better planning for my quit (ie, my method or quit plan) as well as mentally preparing me for all of the fall out from quitting. If you are in the quitting process, have hope and persevere...you can do it.

When you start to suffer from smoking and you keep smoking you continue to cause more pain to yourself... it sometimes takes someone being on the cusp of dying in order to change their life. It's very difficult to change someones mind on something once they have made up their mind. The true way to quitting smoking is to do it cold turkey and whenever you get the urge to smoke again you need to remain busy or have a hobby that is healthy. A support system helps and going to addiction support is also good for you. Hope you quit soon. Smoke free since 2016, just need to quit smoking weed next, another addiction that is hard to quit.
I quit 8 years and 4 months ago. OCT 5, 2011. I tried many times but Joel's MP3's audio downloaded onto a player and played over and over and over. I hardly ever think of smoking today except when I smell one. I find them disgusting now, and you will too, eventually. I can smell them even when driving on the interstate. I will look at a car ahead of me and see a person smoking. Stick with it, follow Joel's advice. You will win.
I’ve smoked for 45 years. Chantix would have worked but I forced myself to smoke that first week. Then it didn’t work. I’m going to bed tonight a smoker. Tomorrow I’ll wake up a non-smoker. It’s also my 20th wedding anniversary. This was a really helpful video.

I really struggled to quit smoking. (I had thought I wasn't addicted but suddenly, I realized I totally was!) How I quit was by taking the prescribed limit of Nicorette gum BUT not in the way they recommended: I would bite off just half or a third of each piece when cravings struck and chew down to release the nicotine just every few minutes. I was able to have relief most of my waking day. Another weird thing I did was this (but it worked!) When my bf or pals were going to a dark club & invited me along, I did not want to miss out. SO I went with them but after a while, when second-hand smoke wafted by, instead of longing to smoke I brought out a large apple and took tiny bites of it for over an hour & then danced. I'd heard that alcohol does not help at that stressful time so I ordered cranberry juice with soda-water (spritzer). It tasted tart and fooled my taste buds and had the added effect of making me a popular designated driver. Once several months went by, I tackled my dependence on the gum and now I'm smoke-free, nicotine-free, and I feel so GOOD and genuinely DON'T miss it at all. YaY.
This is an IMPORTANT P.S. which also helped me greatly: I told myself I could not fairly decide whether or not to smoke while addicted to nicotine. I made a pact to quit cigarettes for just six months and THEN I'd be in a better position to choose whether or not I really wanted to be a smoker. It was very scary for me to think that I would never smoke again so I told myself this was just for 6 mos. & then re-evaluate. LOL, once I had gone through that time period, I was so happy to be nicotine-free BUT if I hadn't been, I imagine I'd have told myself I'd be a fool to backtrack. And btw, DON'T have an occasional one at a social event, your present level of addiction never dies down and this can set you off puffing away all over again. Believe me, I know...this happened the first time I tried to quit.

I'm working in addiction science, and I think this clip is simply brilliant; it is evidence based and conveys al lot of relevant information in such an insightful manner in such a short time. I tip my hat to Dr Evans!
112h without any smoke, feeling fine, I started smoking around 2 years ago and actively became a smoker for a year. I’m only 20 but I already see some damage that smoking has done to me, I hope it’s reversible. There is no amount of justification that makes smoking worth it. It’s a substance that you only want because it is programming your brain to want it. Habits and dopamine is what comes down to. You don’t need to smoke to socialize, you don’t need to smoke to relax, you don’t need to smoke to reduce anxiety, you don’t need to smoke to focus, it’s all a trap to trick your brain into smoking more.
@@LoverOfManTits I quit smoking 11 days ago again, It's the longest time I've been smokefree in the past 2 years and I don't miss it at all. This attempt when I wrote my comment lasted for 6 days. @@LoverOfManTits thanks you too, remember the physical withdrawal symptoms last for 5 days max after that it's only psychological. I always take a deep breath and think about how this breath would feel after I smoke. All clogged up and unsatisfying

Great video!! I used patches in the past, they gave me a dead arm at first. I didn't want to touch a cigarette whilst the patch was on. However it gave me dreams and nightmares when I left it on overnight. Detox tea, saunas, walk, pray, avoid the smokers.... spend time in nature... its a journey as you say. ✨️
Thanks for the video. I like your approach. I’ve been smoking since I was 11. It was a way to comfort, control, and take adult action over my dysfunctional home life. I’ve quit about 100 times. I am watching this before my last cigarette on a cold turkey quit. I am in China during the Coronavirus crisis, so I am mostly confined to my house with no work, and finding my brand of cigarettes is basically impossible. Seems like fate is telling me to go for it.

Thanks for this amazing video which educate me and other that it is simple to quit smoking. I used to frumist electronic cigarettes to quit smoking and soon live a life without smoking.
I had smoked cigarettes for 25 years. The best thing that had happened to me was when I developed bronchitis 13 years ago while addicted to cigarettes. My bronchitis made the cigarettes taste terrible along with just feeling a general malaise I slept for 3 days with out smoking. Once I began to feel better I challenged myself to not smoke for a 4th day. Than a 5th day and so on until I had gone 10 days with out a cigarette! I began to walk and exercise. After 21 days I hadn't even thought about (or wanted) to smoke. I now do not erupt in a spasm of coughing. I don't remember the last time I could inhale so deeply with out a "rattle" or wheeze emanating from my chest. And I no longer suffer from bronchitis. Exercising made it quitting so much easier. Good luck to all of you trying to stop. It helped me to remember that for every day I didn't smoke the tobacco companies were losing a profit.
I'm on my day 8. It gets easier day by day. When I stop counting, I'll know I quit but not yet because I got through this way before. I think I'm gonna make it this time
I started smoking when i was 12years old. I quit 2009 cold turkey. It was the best years of my life. I started smoking again last January 2024 i smoke 10 to 15 cigarettes a day. Was so bad and feel guilty why did i go back smoking. On My 2nd day of qutting for real, cold turkey. Having a lot of cravings and kick backs but i want to quit for real to show people they can do it too. Please pray for me. Its difficult but i know i can do it again!! Stay strong everyone!
Started smoking at 14 and thought I'd quit in my 20's sadly not till I was 41 but all that matters is that I quit! I'm 18 months in and will NEVER return💚
Thank you so much! This has been so encouraging and I feel guilt free. I quit for most of a year and now I pick up occasionaly. I can feel the strain on my body when I wake up in the morning after smoking the night before. I quit before by throwing them away. Sometimes I would only smoke two from the pack before throwing it out, by doing this I got really really tired of wasting my money. It's a battle b/t the responsible side and the irresponsible side and when it comes to finances and health benifits for a single mother which side do you think will win? I'm going to throw away my smokes right now. I will come back to see you to build more self support.

I have been thinking about it a lot in the last couple of months, I only started smoking a couple years ago on my work breaks to take the edge off the stressful environment i was in. Maybe i can replace my smoking with something healthy and productive. I think maybe even replacing cigarette cravings with eating fruit might help a lot! I want to get healthier in a lot of ways but i realise that right now that smoking is the most unhealthy thing i do! So, here is the start of my journey! Great video, very calming and informative. 3 weeks smoke free. I feel so much better, totally worth it. After two weeks in quitting progress, I started to feel normal and my mind felt clean. My main problem with smoking was the un real happiness high I relied on, and it made my mind dark. Now I can feel the world, and the sticks are no longer needed. I’ve also quit junk food and snacks in weekdays, I’m relying on coffee only now, and water. Quit daily masturbation, make it something special instead on rarer occasions. A happy body sends positive signals to the brain trough the full day. I’m feeling glad to be alive.
B tac Congratulations for your healthy life, but you have to change your mind. Maybe Allen's Carr book will help you. I personally mentalized myself that I had to quit, that cigs were no good for me and that they were disgusting. I repeated that to me mentally everyday before I quit and even now I still do so. 2 weeks and a half and my cravings last only a few seconds. Even in the morning I don't think about smoking. Cheer up and I hope that something that I said helped you.
Updating: More than 9 months now. Never quit for such long time. I still crave sometimes but not to the extent of waking up wanting a cig. Definitely, we have to change our minds. There's something we still didn't internalize well enough. Though I still crave sometimes, I'm very happy with my new life. When I crave I take deep breathes and meanwhile I remember that I couldn't do that before, and that I ALWAYS ended up coughing after one single "deep" breathe. And I also remember how disgusting the smoke and the fact of smoking is. When I see someone smoking I go away from him or her because I don't like it. And if a smoker sits beside me I can smell it. Even if someone comes in when s-he is still some 2 meters away from me I can smell it. Good luck to everyone who's quitting! ;)
+Big Cat Update.. Its been more than 2 years now since I quit..and two weeks ago I Challenged myself and smoked a Cigar while on vacation in Cuba..You know how those are!..Anyway, I was worried that I might get back to smoking but I am still a non smoker ..happily
Today is day 8 for me. I've had urges this past 7 days, but that's not the real problem - urges come and they go. I have a problem with food (I've been eating more) and I can't seem to focus on my daily tasks. I feel kind of empty. Not so much low energy, but low/no motivation. It's a struggle for sure.
Quitting smoking is NOT a journey. Its a choice. Plain and simple....i quit..end of story. No more thinking about it. No more crying and boo hooing about it. You people are so puppetted
This video helped me in quitting smoking. After more than 10 attempts and trying almost every method, I was finally able to quit smoking in 2018. Quitting smoking is really difficult, but a combination of methods/motivation helped to kick the habit
Today is my 35th day quitting. I cut caffeine & Alcohol as well to avoid cravings.. Last night I had a couple of drinks and the streets were buzzing, was so so hard but I didn’t smoke. I am proud of that and afraid at the same time, because I love Marlboro Red. Thanks for the video.
Hope all is well! I’m on the same path as we speak quitting both alcohol and nicotine. I went 45 days without alcohol which was a great feeling but I was smoking a lot more during that journey of my 45 days. I went back to binge drinking and smoking eventually. I’m on day 3 getting rid of both smoking and alcohol! Let’s get it
i smoked for 7 years. but now im free for about 3 month. this is how it worked for me. day 1: 20 cig. day 2: 19 cig. day 3: 18 cig, 17, 16, 15, 14 ..........., 3 and than i smoked only 2 cig. a day for about 9 or 10 days. after that, i quit.
Quit 5 weeks ago, now to get my body back in shape. Trying to improve my life, and every single small thing has slowly lead to quitting, and each goal gets larger. I’m happier and feel better and can get out of bed easier. Take care of yourselves everyone! You only get one body!

I am coming up on 1 year of no nicotine/smoking after 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. Your lungs give you life, it is not worth the temporary comfort. Personally what helped me the most after trying to quit endless times was switching to vaping , and slowly tapering down the percent of nicotine until I was using a 0mg nicotine juice. After that, it was really not that hard to quit from there. The hard part was switching to vaping, and slowing tapering down. I want to put it out there that many people after switching to vaping get more addicted to nicotine because of how convenient it is. However, if you go into vaping strictly for the purpose of quitting, it can be a very good tool. I would also stay away from nicotine salts unless you have an extremely hard time making the switch to vaping. I was extremely addicted to nicotine salts, and that is why I started really cutting down the percent of nicotine I was using. THIS WILL NOT WORK FOR EVERYONE but it was what saved me.
10th day cold turkey. No substitutes, I still have miner cravings but I feel stronger and better, wish me luck.

I started smoking at 12. I smoked for 11 years and today is day 30 of quitting cold turkey. I don't regret quitting at all. But i'm still suffering from a couple of withdrawal symptoms. But it's all worth it 😊 Quitting was the best decision I ever made.

7 weeks off smoking. is it just me or does anybody come onto these type of videos to remind ourselves of why we quit
+Jacob W
Since I don't look for support around me I use to keep on watching these vids.
Good luck with your daily battle. ;)

After 46 years, I have been a non smoker for 6 days, I know I will always be a recovering addict one day at a time:)
@Jeremy Horne it brought me pleasure lol, but it is harmful to your body in the same way that drugs are pleasurable but harmful
that's probably the cigs hijacking my brain and tricking me into thinking I like smoking.
You give me hope ⭐️ thank you 💚 from a 30 year smoker who's 46 🐇
I hope my journey will inspire some of you to quit smoking.
I've been a smoker since I was 16, and have been for the last 24 years.
For me, quitting was like breaking a toxic relationship.
I find that quitting smoking and a bad relationship (friend of partner)
requires the same level of emotional and mental fortitude.
I got married 3 years ago, and I feel like my relationship with cigarettes
was harming my family physically and emotionally,
so I though I'd give quitting another shot. This is when I realized something that changed everything
that cigarettes, like all the other toxic people I cut from my life
was a part of my past and doesn't have to be a part of my future,
it's like a self serving, abusive family member, friend, ex or mistress.
I think most people tend to underestimate what it really takes to quit smoking,
and I think that mindset adds a level of difficulty to it.
For as long as we see cigarettes as an object, we'll always feel like we're in control,
so the trick is to change your perspective, and start looking at the habit as an actual person.
What would you do if you're in a relationship with someone; who’s manipulating you,
putting a heavy burden on your health, burning your money and your years,
and someone who puts a strain on your relationship with the people you love and those around you,
it only makes sense to break that relationship, don't you think?
Quitting a habit or a person are technically the same thing,
people tend to stay in a toxic relationship because of the habits we developed,
it becomes a very unhealthy co-dependent bond.
People are usually hesitant to walkout of a relationship no matter how toxic it is
because we're afraid to change or quit some of the habits we grew accustomed to,
and honestly it is not as easy as it sounds.
Once I change my outlook, is when I started to negotiate with myself,
it became clear that she was doing more harm than good,
and so, I started visualizing certain daily routines without smoking.
I started seeing her (cigarette) less and less, until it came to a point that I feel like I was just keeping her for certain things,
things that I can do without smoking.
I was so surprised that I can actually finish a cup coffee or tea without a cigarette.
I began to feel very different physically, emotionally and mentally.
I started feeling nauseated, dizzy after smoking, I couldn't even finish a stick because of how bitter and disgusting it suddenly taste,
until one day I just walked away from her and never looked back.
Quitting smoking is easily one of the best decisions I made in my life,
my wife and I even conceived our first baby a few months after quitting.

Day 3 for me, hang in there! If you can last one day, you can last a lifetime.

Great video, I gave up about a month ago and it was easier than I had expected, I've smoked for about 20 years
After 20 years of smoking and 1 year of gradual reduction, I am now at my 8th day without.

@@TadanGirl Hi good morning, did you read my second message yesterday
I found this really helpful. I have failed to quit several times in the past and wish to keep on trying.

I have target date of quitting 26th Jan 2014. I will try to incorporate ideas shared in video . Thanks a lot !!
It's been 6 weeks since my last cigarette, watching this video every once in a while has helped me so much. Thank you :)
is it very anxious and depressed on 6th day of quitting? 😕 how long last anxiety and unable to concentrate anything?
@@RB-sk8fe it depends on how you distract your self, the cravings only last for 10 minutes and when I get that agitated feeling I try go for a walk or read or exercise, exercise will give you that headrush you crave from the ciggys haha
Thank you so much, i also pray to Lord Jesus for guidance
this is in my opinion the most accurate description of quitting Journey , Thank you
Hope all is well! Let’s get it
Hey Follow my journey to quit smoking, there is no strings - no buying anything just me dealing with the stresses cravings and anxiety also the triumphs and pride of what I am achieving.. I am now successfully on day 9 and each day has it's own video th-cam.com/video/ONwLzNrh3a0/w-d-xo.html
To this day this video always manages to calm me down from cravings, every attempt I make I watch this video and it always gives me a better outlook.
You sir just helped me through a potential slip up. One week today and I'm ready to keep this train rolling :)
This is the best video on quitting nicotine on TH-cam. And I’ve watched a lot of them during my three quits.
quit cold turkey. on my 2nd week
On my second week...
On my second week...
+Seán Belzer Jesus can help you quit and stay cigarette free
+Seán Belzer You speak with echo, echo, echo! XD
Congrats, anyway. ;)
Idk how that happened hahaha
Been smoking for fifteen years. My mom died in March from it, her mom died in 96 from it and now it’s my turn. Quitting smoking is the hardest challenge I’ve ever had
Thanks for the great advice and not showing pictures of real cigarettes. The sight really drives me nuts, since I just quit 3 days ago. I've been smoking for 20+ years and cant believe I've do it so long and I know its time and I can do it. Thanks again for the great video.
I'm quitting in the morning for Ash Wednesday! Nice work Arthur!
Thanks for helpful advice. For me is 24 hours away from smoking. I am feeling anxiety & looking for something good..
Thanks for the video. I like your approach. I’ve been smoking since I was 11. It was a way to comfort, control, and take adult action over my dysfunctional home life. I’ve quit about 100 times. I am 63 now. Healthy, happy and bored as always. But I haven’t given up. I want to breathe better. Thanks for the inspiration.

I watched this video in 2017. After 6 attempts going cold turkey for about a period of 2 years, I have finally quit smoking.
Update: the year is 2020, I'm a non smoker, even occasional smoking (which is a cigarette with friends in a month) doesn't "kicks in" like it used to. Quite Contrary the smell of Marlboros feels repulsive.
This video is quite good..and covered almost every aspect of Quitting smoking (which is a complex process..)
I am watching this before my last cigarette on a cold turkey quit. I am in China during the Coronavirus crisis, so I am mostly confined to my house with no work, and finding my brand of cigarettes is basically impossible. Seems like fate is telling me to go for it.
This video made 1 month smoke free and still counting after been smoking for 9 years. Its not easy but once u pass the 2 weeks mark ur cravings decrease. Thanks man u saved my life, much love ❤❤❤
This will be my day one, let’s see how this goes!
Ghous Ali you got this also try reading Allen Carr’s book easy way to stop smoking
Old but gold this video! I’m 41 years old, smoked for 20 years and vaped for another 7. Currently on day 12 of quitting. I’m using nicotine patches to ease the urge, but already cutting down on those too. Wish me luck!
Excellent video to watch over and over! Thank you!
Thank you for making this great video. I'v smoked for 16 years, before quiting 6 weeks ago. This video helped me alot, watching it for the third time and doing great.

Started Smoking since 16, and it had been ard 14 years.
Tried to quit for a handful of times, and now on my 4th day.
Came for a little tips to my own quitting journey.
Video was nice, but the comment section here is gold!
Wish all you people a smooth transition to you healthier habits.
Lots of Love & Support
I think I'm gonna make it this time
That's a nice way to look at it.
How are you doing?
Three weeks smoke free. I'm done forever.
This is by far the best video I have watched.
This was amazing :) this is the 24 day of me not smoking, and the cravings are horrible.but this shoved me that i have to be strong :) thanks
How are you doing now?

For me, seeing how much cash I had at the end of the month became highly motivating. I was cutting back to get healthier. It got to the point where smoking a cigarette would make me dizzy for a few minutes. It made it easier to just quit. Seeing the savings has made it easier to remain tobacco free for 2.5 months.
thanks for the video...fml I am on day 2...this is the farthest I have gone to quit...
are u still smoke free? :)

I’m on day 2 also. Did you quit?
How you all doing? I’m on day 28🤞

I quit smoking for some. Time now and the approach was so good it totally convinced me thank you so much i have no words sir
I love this video!!!! its the best i have ever seen on youtube. Thank you very much:)))
Two good books that are great for the journey are "30 Days to Quit Smoking" by Harper Daniels and "The Easy Way" by Carr, both are on amz I think.
For a lot of things, it isn't about stopping smoking, but not starting it in the first place.
Thank you for this video. Been saying and trying to quit for years now. TODAY starts a new journey. My husband and I will achieve it this time! Congratulations to those who have succeeded and are succeeding and to those also taking that step.
Our minds are made and we have a plan. Let's do it! 💪🙌🙏🙋♀️

Great video! I didn't know that my insomnia is caused by quitting smoking.
i decided to search for this video. I think this was the first step. Im from the UK so i might reach out to the NHS for help. I think gum would be the way to go for me. Thank you :)
Nicely stated your entire presentation - thank you!

I quit cold turkey 1 year and 5 months ago but I still dream about smoking and I wake up wanting one :(
B tac Congratulations for your healthy life, but you have to change your mind.
I still dream of smoking, then when I wake up like phew thank fuck
Good luck to everyone who's quitting! ;)
+Big Cat aw well Jesus can take that desire away if you ask Him to
+Big Cat Update..
Same here I’m on week two. Just can’t get it off my mind and reaching for a vape that’s not there
Quitting smoking is NOT a journey.
I have completed 2 week after quitting cigarette.
Now more than 3 month without smoke unbelievable. I am very happy feel energetic now
Today is my 35th day quitting.
Let’s get it
i smoked for 7 years.
but now im free for about 3 month.
this is how it worked for me.
day 1: 20 cig.
day 2: 19 cig.
day 3: 18 cig,
17, 16, 15, 14 ..........., 3
and than i smoked only 2 cig. a day for about 9 or 10 days.
after that, i quit.

Quit 5 weeks ago, now to get my body back in shape. Trying to improve my life, and every single small thing has slowly lead to quitting, and each goal gets larger. I’m happier and feel better and can get out of bed easier. Take care of yourselves everyone! You only get one body!
as usual you people always tend to make things more complicated.
“It’s going to be hard now but it’s going to be hard in 5 years so why not do it now.”
Damn. That’s a really fucking good point.

Smoked for 25yrs, I just turned 37 and smoke free for 3 weeks and I feel fantastic. Please quit people it like killed my mother at 50.
wonderful graphical representation !!!!!! keep up the good work doc.
A real boost for keeping the process in mind. I needed the reminder that it’s a journey, to find what works. Ty
Thank you so much😀😃I will play this over and over.GOD bless you. I keep trying.i am not happy as a smoker,I'm a slave to nicotine .please keep helping us🙃🙂😇🙄
I am coming up on 1 year of no nicotine/smoking after 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made.
Excellent presentation/graphics. Marking for regular review. Thanks!
