This show has more than a few funny people on it, but Kieran Culkin is by far the funniest out of all of them. He's such a talented comedic actor, and he plays this role so perfectly well. Hope the Emmy's give him some love, he's way overdue for it.
I haven't seen this show at all but seeing this video makes me want to. Loved Culkin in Scott Pilgrim and wondered why I wasn't seeing him in more things.
I think the greg and tom characters are funnier because of the writing but I think Kieran Culkin himself with his mannerisms makes his character better than the writing alone.

Tom just loves family perks, loves her but also doesn't want to go to the jail 😂 But the point being Shiv is horrible at lying which is quite essential in what they do. Shiv also doesn't know anything about corporate business management which she finally said in this season. Couldn't beleave people in comments during last season talked like she would be alone better than Ken leading when Roman even knows more about business world. S02 it was already shown by the powerpoint that she sent to Logan and they all laughed (Roman, Rhea, Ken and Logan) at it in the plane going to Britain and she was so unwilling for anykinda training that she got Logan second guessing can he mold her into leader of the company. Don't get me wrong Shiv has her attributes like twisting a narrative and thinking on her feet when she isn't panicking etc. but there is a reason Karl and others don't take her seriously and first thing she does is to call daddy Logan for them to respect her when she is just fish out of water in too big shoes. Roman atleast goes baby-steps which is why I don't know how people don't see real potential of him becoming real player (and people like him) when Shiv is constantly on edge of burning himself. Like the letter to Ken in this scene, why would Roman sign when he would still be in the corp if Ken would lead it or it could otherways hurt him back by Ken and destroy their now on pause relationship but Shiv has to win with Logan now and all of it (but maybe those are the killer instincts Logan is talking about, she just sometimes makes moves in too personal basis). She does very rash moves like the Pierce dinner blurting she is the successor. Her ego is the worst thing holding her back. I think in the first place she went into politics on the side Logan hates out of spite because Ken was daddys boy for competing to lead after Logan goes and she wasn't taken in by daddy Logan without work or going to say she wants in but she sees it as she's the one to have been courted just because she is very smart. Deep down she only wants to impress Logan even if not admitting it even to herself, because of ego. Ken was in Shanghai management training for some years and all of that and Shiv said in S02 Fthat and just read a magazine and walked out of Waystar everytime she was there to learn even in fast pace learning curve. She has huge ego and insecurity issues and daddy issues inside the family. I could say downfalls from most of the characters (Ken has f'd up so much even tho knows corporate world) but funny enough Roman has been just consistent in learning and climbing the ladder, now he has a mentor who helps to navigate the real big deal stuff where Shiv wants just to be thrown in and gamble with possibly her whole reputation. And now has been thrown in since Logan doesn't see Roman ready yet, hates Ken obviously, Connor is Connor and good things are that Shiv being smarter than Roman and especially in their situation has good public lefty image and is woman (also Logan propably hates Roman's straight out of his mothers charasteristics which needs toning down, the humor is very similar with them). But can it work in the longrun with Shiv, mm I'm very doubtfull if nothing changes in her attitude and ego. I honestly think tortoise Roman will come and collect in the end if everything isn't ruined. Oh and lastly she couldn't even last episode convince Connor that he wins when he doesn't or keep him anyway in line in a business meeting so how does she handle big game then. Rhea rolled her by simple lunch in couple seconds.

Even while separated from each other, they still have childlike mannerisms and behaviors. Children in adult bodies; This is a psychological concept called “arrested development”.

What a great cast! For the 40 hours ish they have made. It really is a feat to make all the dialogue so hilarious and immersive. The handheld film camera does so much to make you feel like a voyeur. It’s brilliant but I think it wouldn’t work without it.
I love that they have such confidence in the cast to write something like this. It is the writer handing the actors a premise which they have to sell totally on their own
It was just a few camera angles in first two seasons, but in the third one the camera crew and the costume department did us all a great service. Say what you want about season 3, but that aspect of the show is seriously improved.
quite a lot of the perfomances are! They rarely plan out any blocking on the day and set up the cameras in such a way that the actors are free to move around and perform however they want

The SUV scene where no one thought to call their absent, aloof mother to lock her in to their plan was dumb. The writers did a character dumb down to make this work. A better betrayal would be they call Caroline and she agrees to their deal then fucks them in the end and side with Logan. Just sayin
